January 2011- Code Watch!!!

I'll jump on board here also... just booked Jan 22-29 at the cabins at the fort. Although this will be our fifth trip in five years, it will be the first time we have ever stayed on property (in-laws have a timeshare, can't beat that price!) I NEED a good code so that we are able to keep our ressies!

I am hoping for a good deal too. So far I have a room only reservation for Jan. 9-17 at CBR and hope that there is a 4/3 deal.

Ok, I'm really starting to get anxious here.:scared: We want to go in January after MLK for DS 10th birthday, but we don't want to book without a discount. We could pay for a trip, but rack rates would cut it tight.:teacher: Now I just looked at the ticket price increases and it really freaked me out because they went up so much.:sad2:

I need a discount and I need it now!

Waiting too, wondering if I should just book room only and see what comes out?
We are going in Sept and wonder if there will be any bounce back room offers for 2011. We want to stay at Tree House Villas and won't do the dining plan.
:confused3

I booked a room only for Dec 31 thru Jan 7th... waiting to see if AP rates or a package discount comes out... if not will have to use DD college program discount...

I've had my room at ASMusic for Jan 19 - 26th booked since early June. I'm tacking on a trip to the end of a conference, so I'm going no matter what. A hefty discount would be welcome since I'm also trying to figure out how to make it to F&W in '11.

We are planning a Jan trip also, Jan 2 - 10. We may head down a day or two earlier to enjoy the hotel decorations. Is it incredibly insane on Dec 30, 31 and Jan 1? This will be our first trip in Jan. we have always gone in Sept or Oct. Excited at the thought of not dripping sweat.:thumbsup2 Any tips or planning strategies would be appreciated. What do you think the crowds will be for those dates?

Here's hoping for pixie dust for us all.... :wizard:

Subbing! Desperately waiting for the deals to come out too. Going on a family reunion trip 1/16/11-1/22/11 NEED some kind of discount or gift card to make this work. 4/3 would be amazing! We've already booked our rooms in hopes that we can change out to a discounted package.

I was there at the end of December once and the 30th and 31st were very, very crowded, but the 1st, was dead, in my opinion. People were probably sleeping off New Years Eve. :thumbsup2 On the 31st we walked into MK and walked out, because it was crazy crowded, we ended up at Epcot because it seems to be able to handle the crowds better because of its size. ;) Even with the crowds though, it was cool to be in Disney on New Years Eve. :)

We did the 4/3 last year at the POFQ last/first week of Jan/Feb.
I have booked the CR this year for the same time and looking at the historical deals for those dates, it shows that the 4/3 was for moderate and 5/2 for value.
Has anyone had any deals in the past years for a Deluxe in Jan/Feb? or know if they have had them before.

Subbing :surfweb:

I'm helping a friend plan a January trip and thought I'd keep an eye on any possible code news for her.

We stayed at the Poly that same week last year! We got the 4/3. (It was a cold and rainy week- but it felt like we had the parks to ourselves!!) This year we go back the same week again - January 28th - February 4th and we are going back to the POFQ! The whole time at the Poly I wished I had saved that extra money and stayed at the POFQ!

Has anyone called about AAA rates for January? I'm wondering if the AAA discount will be available over MLK weekend.

I doubt it will be.
We called about Jan 8- 15th and AAA was only for the weeknights-- no discount at all on Jan 8th or Jan 14th (and I believe the 14th is the Friday at the beginning of that MLK weekend).
We saved a whole $53 over our 7-night stay with AAA (value-preferred).
I'm hoping that a good discount comes out.. otherwise, DH and I are talking about postponing until later in 2011 to give us more time to save up.

Thanks, emh1129. I was afraid that might be the case. I think I'm going to prepare myself for rack rate and hopefully be pleasantly surprised by a discount. If they bring back 7 for 4 that won't help us because we can only swing 5 nights due to our schedule.

We're looking at 1/8-1/11 at Wilderness Lodge, but haven't booked anything yet. Would love to see good room discount, since we're only there 3 nights and that's all the family will "approve".

Debating whether or not to book through AAA for their discount, but booking my last trip through them was such a hassle!

Subbing.
We are looking at Jan 28 - Feb 6. Hoping for good AP room-only discount like last year. Right now we are looking at staying value, but if we get a decent AP (or public) discount maybe I can talk DW into a split stay so we can check out either WL or AKL.
