We were there also this past Jan as first timers and I am hooked....I think that we are going to go again next Jan. Hopefully the crowds are down a little. All castmembers kept telling us that the crowds that were there were not normal at all.

We'll be there late Jan./early Feb. It will be our fifth trip at that time of the year. You can't beat it. Light crowds, good discounts and I escape Pittsburgh weather for a week! Love it!

I'm so happy to find this thread! We just decided to go over MLK weekend in January! We've never been at this time before and we moved our trip up a few months so I'm VERY excited!!

I am excited to be going in January 23-30. I haven't book anything yet because I want to book a package so I am anxiously waiting for the 2010 prices to come out so that I can book our trip.

I am excited to hear that the crowds are smaller. We went in July 2008 and I will never go again in the summer. It was too hot and crowded.

We will be staying at Pop this time.


Should I book a room only reservation? You all got me wondering now.

I am hoping that maybe with the economy that they will have some sort of deal if not, I still can't wait to go!

HI Sue. We stayed at POP the last time we went with our kids and loved it. It's a fun resort. They have some stuff for kids in the lobby and outside by the pool around 6:00 (I think). If you ask at check in they can tell you. Like you, I'm waiting for a deal. I hope we don't have to wait long!!

I booked room only yesterday for January 23-30th!!! We'll be staying at ASMovies this time and I'm crossing my fingers Disney releases a good discount for us.

We loved it when we went this past January. The weather and crowds were wonderful.

Packages and rates for 2010 should be out in August. Last year they released discounts and codes in early November. We've got a while to wait but that's all part of the fun of planning!

We're off to CBR in January 2010! It's a win/win - we get to escape the frozen north AND get a beach vacation at WDW. I'm waiting until the rates come out in August so that I can book my package all at once and not have to redo it (at least until the discount codes come out ).

I'm really hoping my family (3 Adults and 1 child) can go to DW January 2-8!

If no one minds me asking, are the prices for your packages drastically different from 2009?
(That will be the determining factor, with the economy the way it is...)

We will be there at the same time! I'll be there Jan 3-10.
I made my reservation on the phone-because I had similar issues with the website. I can't get tickets or anything until the end of july- but I at least wanted to reserve the room!

Hubby is doing the half marathon this trip (his first time) so we are really excited. I booked our rooms over the phone and I'm waiting to book the rest of the package as soon as I can.

The CM told me that if any specials come out between now and our trip, I could change our ressies to that... He suggested there could be some good deals, but obviously that was his opinion... Let's hope it's true!

I belive last year the 4/3 deal came out towards the end of OCT. Im hoping for some good deals for the 1st week in JAN.. WOOT!
