January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

Good Morning My Snowbird Friends! :goodvibes I hope it is warm and sunny whereever you are! :)

I was just snooping on the codes thread and I read about an interesting PIN code that is making an appearance in people's inboxes!

It seems as though Disney has decided to re-release the buy 4, get 3! :cool1: Dates are being reported as Nov 28-Dec 17th! One rumor said that there is a great possibility that this could become a GP code! This would be VERY tempting! :thumbsup2

Only problem for us is that our church puts on a HUGE Christmas show the first 2 weekends in December and my DH is very involved in that! :sad2:

I would so love to see Disney at Christmas time! We'll see what happens! :surfweb:

I got a pin this am. It was for the kids free & a 4/day 4/night discount in Sept to Oct. At the very bottom it said keep looking for great deals for 11/? to Dec 17th. hmm got me interested.

OT my little guy is home sick. It has been rough around here my Mother has had to have surgery hasn't been able to drive for over a month. So I have been running her around trying to keep the shop open, working at another job, being a mom yikes sorry (sleep deprieved can you tell) anyhow I had to inlist the MiL to help today she is home with the little guy till dad can get home. Wish me luck when I get home hopefully she hasn't completely re arranged my house by then.

Great news! Thanks for reporting back to us! Now this is even more tempting to plan 2009.

Seeing the Halloween tickets on sale is tempting me! I always said the next time would be for Halloween, this means taking dd out of school so close to the start of the year! I'm not a fan of that!

I think I will add a ticker for Jan. DH already said go for it and I asked again this morning and he said Jan would be better for us. He's supportive for whenever I want to go, but feels OCt would be too close to school!

Kim~
It is great at Christmas time--the code would be awesome, but it does tend to enlarge those crowds...not good for us!! Ha!!!

Kayte,,, hope your little man and your mom are on the mend, and will be up & at 'em before too long. If you MIL redoes your furniture, tell her to be sure and clean as she goes! ha~~~

Have a good day ladies!

I'm having dejavue :upsidedow(or however it's spelled:teacher:) All these rumors about possible codes reminds me of last year when I sat glued to the computer waiting impatiently for something to come out.

DH and I were talking and it is a GOOD possibility we may go back in January 2010 if a good enough deal comes out!!!! We can't go December since he has no more vacation time left for 2009 so I won't see the Christmas decorations but that's okay with me... there's always the next time or the time after that. The sooner I get to take my babies to see Mickey again the better! :wizard:

Is it wrong that I'm secretly wishing the tourist economy is still suffering just so I can take advantage and go see Mickey again? :rolleyes1

Have a great weekend Snowbirdies! I'm traveling to Virginia to visit my Grandmom and Aunt :grouphug: for the weekend.

Good evening everyone. Hope you all had a good week.

So, after talking to my friend tonight about going in August and it sounds like it's a GO!!!!!!!!!!!. Nothing written in stone yet, but her uncle is looking into some dates around my birthday for us to see what he can get. The deals apparently change weekly, and he gets informed of the deals 3 months in advance. So we are hoping for a Deluxe resort with at least 40% off!

For those of you doing the birthday thing this year, how does this work? Do you have to book a package?

*I'm trying not to get my hopes up! But I really, really, REALLY want to go! Here's to hoping and praying...:wizard:

That sounds awesome!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

As for the birthday thing, I've been researching it for my trip. I went to the Disney website and registered my birthday. You just fill it out with name, address, birhtdate, etc. You print it out (it just shortens the time filling out paperwork at the window) and bring valid I.D. (license, passport, etc) to the Will Call window at any park on your actual birthday. If you have a pkg that includes tickets, you'll get a birthday fun card for the amount of a one day park ticket. If you don't have a pkg or don't alreay have tickets, you'll get in free on your birthday. I hope this answers your question!

Speaking of birthdays...I started a new PTR for my birthday trip! I'm so excited!

Yes, it should've been that easy for us. I don't know what my hubby was thinking, when he went to the window, he said he didn't think I bought him a ticket for that day (HUH??) so he had them give him the free ticket when he was supposed to get the fun card! UGH!:scared: So after I was thinking not-so-nice things about him, he went back to the window and the lady was NOT near as nice the second time and it took about 45 minutes to fix the mistake! Otherwise it would've taken us literally three minutes!

And unless they changed the rules, we were able to use our card anywhere we tried-toys, snacks, food, tips, etc...

HEY GIRLS! :goodvibes

Just wanted to let you know that I FINALLY started ...AND POSTED....my Trip Report! The first bit is posted! It is called "Bubble" -licious - A Northern Family's Disney Tale! :) Come by and visit! And if anyone can help me put a link in my siggie - that we be great cause I totally forget how! Thanks!

Awesome!! Thank you! I had looked on the website too and that's what I thought, but I figured I'd check and make sure. And after having a not so great day at work, I really need to know if we are going...I need something good!

Hi Snowbirds!

How is everyone enjoying their weekend so far?

So, I just finished up making some rice krispie treats and it had me thinking about Disney (and the 25 Mickey Heads I had on our last trip :cloud9: )

DH doesn't know it yet, but I've decided that i'm planning a trip for October, 2010. I don't care what I have to do to make it happen . . . it will happen.

The baby will be 11 months by that time, which in my opinion, is a fine time to experience the magic of Disney for the first time!

I have been having serious Disney withdrawal the last several weeks and am starting to obsess about it :rotfl:

Those of you who are going in January, have you started booking your room-only packages yet? What about ADR's? I'm so jealous.

Hey Snowbirds!!
Been a busy couple of days here. We had a garage sale with the neighbors yesterday and today. (Vacation $$) Then we had to go to a bridal shower for my nephew's fiance. That was fun and the girls got to meet all the bridesmaids. Now I'm reading about deals and pin codes??? What could be better!
We would be happy and bummed for a deal like 4/3 in December. It might work out to be a better deal for us (we're already getting the 40% military and military tickets) but it would possibly result in bigger crowds!! I did get our tickets for MVMCP for the date we want, and the CM told us it was a discounted night, but because it was a Sunday, she said it would be a good night. We shall see...We really only had two choices during the time we're there, so I guess I have a 50-50 chance.

I'm so glad tomorrow's a nice relaxing unscheduled Sunday!

Kimberly - I'm going to go check out your TR!

Oh Mindy - we took our kids for the first time when Sarah was almost 3 and Paige was 11 mos. She had a blast even though she doesn't remember! Plus they were both free! :)

That's going to be my argument with DH. "But honey . . . the baby will still be free!" :lmao: It's going to take a lot of convincing but I've got DS on my side. Usually he's able to talk Daddy into anything :thumbsup2

I started looking at an August WDW vacation again! :lmao:
So with our free dining I'd save approximately $300 to go a week later than I had planned. I thought the 3 for 4 deal that is suppose to end prior to free dining was still available can't find the offer online :confused3,maybe that means all those rooms are booked :confused3
I am in serious Disney withdrawal and after the deal we have Jan 2009, and afraid I'll be shocked with rates without a deal.

to be honest I am a tad anxious about this. Everytime I get information it seems to change with regards to price. The price the travel agent quoted and the price disney quotes are different for the exact same thing?:confused3

I had to come on here to release this anxiety!

thanks to those who "listened"

I feel your pain Drakes!

We are all jonesin' pretty bad for Disney right now too! My DH actually said to me last night " Let's try to go again in January"

I just about fell over! He pretty much just threw his weight behind me planning a trip for Jan 2010!

I am not going to do a ticker just yet though, don't want to be disappointed if it doesn't work out!

I am hoping for a REALLY GOOD deal for JAnuary 2010!

PLEASE DISNEY BRING BACK 4/3 FOR 2010!

WOO HOO!!!!! CHECK OUT MY TICKER!!!!!!

DH and I had a big Disney talk this weekend and we are going to make January 2010 happen!!! I'm going to be a Snowbird again! I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself!!!!!
:cheer2::dance3::cool1::wizard:
