January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

Hello everyone. Just stopping in to say hi! We just finished our planning for our August trip to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. We're pretty excited. Tentatively, it looks like we'll be going January 20-27, 2010 as well. Like I've said before, "Once a Snowbird, always a Snowbird!";)

I just wanted to introduce you all to our little Turkey. I think I'm due Nov. 25th. We were able to see the heartbeating this morning and are so thrilled! I can't wait to turn this one into a Disney Baby, too!

On another note, I HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW NEXT WEEK!! I'd applied for this job over a month ago and never hear anything, so I figured, Oh well...well today hubby met me at the car when I pulled up and said I had a letter from the State. I assumed it was my "Thanks for your app, but we don't want you" letter. Well it was thick when I got it, and when I opened it, it said my interview was scheduled for MONDAY!! YIPPEE!!! I'm excited because I've been in my current position for over 11 yrs since graduating from college. I am SO ready for a change. This position wouldn't be any change really as far as salary or benefits, but it would be a little closer and something completely different than what I'm doing! Send me some positive vibes!!!

Good luck with the interview! :wizard:

Thank you for your prayers guys...we have returned home! Here's an update on what happened.

Well so much for uneventful...about 9am this morning I got an email from my hubby saying that the roof in his room was on fire and that he was evacuating his classroom. I didn't worry too much because he didn't have children in the room and I knew he was getting out. I even joked with LL about it. However shortly there after my assistant principal came into my room and asked to speak to me in the hallway. He informed me that there had been an accident at Phillip's school and they were taking him to the ER. Apparently when he went to turn the lights on in his room a ballast in the lights exploded and caused a release of some toxic gases in the room (he thought was smoke) and it triggered an asthma attack and shortly after that it the gased triggered a reaction that started to burn his eyes and nose pretty badly. He immediately rinsed them and went to the clinic where they rinsed his eyes with saline, however the school insisted he be checked thoroughly and the next thing I know I'm being told he is on his way to the hospital in an ambulance and he has the car and I have no way to get there. Thankfully my assistant principal dropped everything he was doing and took me to our car and then I was able to meet up with Phillip and the ER. I had called my Pastor and he was already there and had called to tell me Phillip was fine and to drive safely. After about 4 hours and a couple of procedures that make chinese water torture look humane we are home and are resting. I'm exhausted and just plain tired. I'm going to call it an early night and be glad that I only have to make it through 4 more days until Spring Break even if it means my inlaws will be here LOL!

Oh my goodness Jenny! How scary! Thank Goodness Phillip is okay! I will continue to pray that he heals completely and that there are no lasting effects from this accident!

Wow! :goodvibes Congratulations Mindy! Looks like a cute little turkey to me! Hope you start feeling better soon! :cheer2:

Hello Snowbirds! :) Well, with our hopes of an August trip smashed to smitherenes, we are slowly starting to hope about a possible trip in late January or Early February! :cool1: I really hope there is as great (or even better?) code for next winter! Another 4/3 deal would seal it for us! I am watching flight prices like crazy and hoping for the best! Anybody doing free dining? :confused3

At least you have a ticker! :lmao:

Well, two actually.
Good point. I'm doing better today.

How freaky!! Glad all is well now (and you cracked me up about the Chinese Water torture)!!

All together now: AWWWW!!! Congrats!!

Jen - so glad Phillip is okay. What a strange and awful thing to have to go through.

Jen- I'm so glad to hear that everything is ok. How scary!

Mindy- Thanks for posting your sonogram pic! How exciting!

About upcoming trips....my DH has decided to stop discussing future trips with me. It's not that he doesn't want to go, he just keeps saying that we just got back. Actually...we got back 2 MONTHS AGO!!! Where did all that time go?? I'd love to do the free dining, but that time of year probably won't work out for us. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Jan 2010. I really, really, really want to stay at the Beach Club (I'd even settle for the YC or Boardwalk), but I don't know if that will happen. It's pretty expensive, but it will most likely be our last trip for awhile. Gotta go big!

I got run over to my PTR... haven't been there in a couple of days...

In August we are staying at All Star Movies again. We haven't decided yet where we are staying in January. Could be Movies, POP, Coronado, or Animal Kingdom Lodge. We'll decide later based on how much time we plan on spending at the resort. Even though we just got back not long ago, the excitement is building all over again.

Hi, guys! We just booked a trip for August (FREE DINING!) and are so excited! I haven't been on the boards since our Jan. vacation, and was happy to see that you all are still here.

We had a good vacation in January, but don't think that Jan. is our favorite time of the year to go. We will try August before the kids go back to school (one to college, one to high school). I am expecting HOT and crowded, but am quite excited about the free dining!

Time to begin planning!!

Congrats on your August trip! :cool1:

Hi everybody. So this free dinning thing kinda ticks me off...:rotfl:. Ya see, I've never done anything for my birthday (no this isn't some sad pity story...). Since my birthday is in the middle of Aug. we were always so focused on getting stuff ready for school, and my mother doesn't like to travel south when it's hot. So now I find out free dinning...starting Aug. 16...wait my birthday!??! hmmm....tax return coming in a few weeks...could I save all that. Well apparently not. NO ONE WANTS TO GO WITH ME! (and I really do need to save that money because I need a new car, I think it's been through it's final winter :scared:) Ugh...someday, right, someday.:rotfl:

Jen - glad to hear everything is ok.

Mindy - YAY!!! I think little Turkey has your eyes...:flower3:

I'd go with you too! (even though I think it's too hot!)My birthday is 8/26 - we're always getting ready for school too.
We're months away from our 90 days out for ADRs, but I've already got my SiLs looking at menus so we can pick restaurants. I am sure I'll be doing all the booking, since I'm the "expert" and I don't want any complaints!
