January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

Hi Everyone.

I'm loving reading your info and seeing photos. I'm hoping to put together an album on photobucket.

For those of you who got Photopass, did anyone get the Photobook? The Photopass Photographers were very few and far between for us, so other than some character meets, the only pics we got were on the Main Streets with the landmarks behind us. Plus a couple of Test Track action shots. One magic shot with Stitch in the ground at DHS. I didn't see the point of buying the disk, but then I started looking at the book. I uploaded a bunch of my own photos onto the site, and I'm going the buy the book only. I'm up to 48 pages.

There was a Photopass photog when Lauren was doing Jedi Training, so I'm e-mailing with Disney to find those shots. As soon as I get those, then I'm going to be ready to finish the book.

FYI - here's the rest of the gang in our matching family shirts. We got a LOT of attention with these from the cast members. I almost thought we were going to be asked to be in the celebration parade, when two of those CMs in plaid came over to us on Main Street. No such luck!

Hello everyone. Thought I'd jump on here quick and say "Hi" since it's been a few days. Hope everyone is doing good. We've had a few "issues" here. Since it has been so nice lately...upper 40's/lower 50's and our back yard is a hill that slopes towards our house, our garage has been flooding. So we've been watching that carefully in hopes that the basement doesn't flood too since use it (it's where my bedroom is). Plus they are adding more hours at work for 5 people, and I'm one of them, so part of me is doing this - because I need money and the other part is doing this - because I kind of hate work right now. Oh well...it's a job...and money...

We are having major flooding here too. Well not here at my house, but in our general area. That's what happens when 2 feet of snow melts and it rains for several days. Then we had an awful wind storm last night. I am amazed that we still have power!

Congrats on the extra hours at work ~ if that's what you want!!

Flooding problems here too, but not at my house (thankfully). There are a lot of creeks in this region and the ice has started to break apart and cause lots of problems. It was in the 40's and 50's on Mon and Tues. Yesterday is was 60!!!! It felt so nice! It started raining yesterday afternoon and hasn't stopped. Well, it turned into a bit of snow overnight but it all melted. We also have gusts of up to 60mph winds.

I love your pics Sheree!!! I would love to take a Disney cruise someday.

Current and future snowbirds!

We're busy trying to establish when we should go on our three day cruise. We are looking around Thanksgiving, and knowing it will be more expensive at the resorts, we still might tack on three or four days for WDW. I'm thinking Wildnerness Lodge might be cool. I wish I had the kids' school calendar - but I don't expect it for at least a month. We really just want to see the holiday decorations and maybe get to MVMCP and Osborne lights. So I hope it's all going on when we go! I can book the cruise on 4/6, so I have some time to plan! Yay - what could be better than planning another trip to WDW?

No flooding here...sorry for those of you dealing with that. Just high winds and power outages. Thankfully it's back on now.

I'm going to try not to whine but I have a bad cold and the winds today are insane. Love the pictures and trip reports. Here'e mine in a nutshell. Had great weather, ran around like the crazy commando I am (four parks, one day), disagreed with my friends who are anti commandos, want to return without them.

I actually just joined last week after years of resistance - LOL! My college-aged DD convinced me to join. Got to say - it is really fun and within a few days I heard from people I went to HS with over 30 years ago. It is kind of addicting, though, much like this site!!

Good morning everyone. As Sheree just mentioned, a plane did crash in the Buffalo area last night. I live about 15-20 miles from that area. I'm still in utter disbelief right now. That area is 5-7 miles from the airport. It feels like a bad dream. The pictures that are all over the local news are shocking and unbelievable.

Thank God you are all right. I thought of you instantly when it said near Buffalo. Then they said a woman and child got out of the house but the husband did not. I was so nervous!! What a horrible tragedy!
