January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

GREETINGS FROM DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm having a great time. The weather has been amazing. ***It has been "cooler" at night. Easily sweatshirt weather.*** Warm during the day with sunshine. It's supposed to rain on Monday, that's our Fantasmic night.

The parks were great on Wednesday evening and Thursday. Wednesday evening was MK and we walked on Thunder Mountain 4X and walked on Pirates. Thursday was AK- walked on the Safari at 1pm, did Everest 4X between 4 and 5 pm (park closing). Dinosaur had a 40 minute wait but they were only running one side, so it would have only been about 20 minutes.

Today we hit up TOY STORY MANIA - which is GREAT! HS had morning EMH so we got there at rope drop and walked right on it. Walked on Rock N RollerCoaster and Tower of Terror. Headed over to AK, little more crowded, but still were able to do: Safari, Everest, Nemo Musical, Lion King, and then we were back here at Saratoga Springs by 4:30. So it was swimming then dinner at Wolf Gang Puck Express in DTD.

The resort is great. We are a 5 minute walk from DTD, and there is a bus stop basically right outside our building.

So now we are spending the night here in our Villa just relaxing. I didn't sleep very well the past few nights, so I'm getting a tad tired by this time.

Ok, I'm off to make some microwave popcorn and sit on our balcony (with just a sweatshirt on ) and read. Ahhhh....I love vacation!

Also sending greetings from sunny Florida. We are here at the Wilderness Lodge and are having a great time. The weather has been nearly perfect and the crowds are managable.

Although we are enjoying the Wilderness Lodge and think it is a beautiful resort, we'll be going back to the Poly for our next trip. We REALLY appreciate the luxury of the monorail.

I'll check in on Tuesday when we get back.

I'm "older" *ahem* and I sure don't act it, especially at WDW!! I act about the same as my DDs!! It's way more fun!

I'm beat - must get some sleep - the girls got us up way to early today. Tomorrow they better find something to do before 8!
We have a late night tomorrow too - we're going to see the play Frost/Nixon in Minneapolis. Luckily it starts at 6:30, so we should get home by 10.

Just checking in! We had a nice evening. Went to 5:30 mass then met MIL and SIL, her hubby and 7 yr old at a local pizza place-YUMMY! Were supposed to grocery shop after that but Keaton was getting CRANKY as he hadn't napped all day and was just done! He did really good in Church but right before it was over and the Priest announced "let us pray..." he said (not whispered), "No I not pray, I go byebye!" Needless to say, I ushered him into the vestibule and waited until Andy and Drew came out. Several older couples came up to me giggling about it, but I was a bit mortified!! So he fell asleep right after we got home (about 8) and the other three of us are laying on my bed watching Men In Black. A VERY nice way to spend a Saturday evening in my opinion! (Of course I don't know what we're going to do for breakfast since we need groceries and are out of just about everything!! Think Garden Grocer will deliver to Missouri?)

If I can get Drew to fall asleep, I'm going to drag Andy downstairs to work on tshirts!!

Hi Snowbirds!

Well, we went to TA to pick up our docs today and there was a little bit of a mess up with our package.
Hopefully it will all be fixed on Monday. I'm not going to stress about it! We are still going and that's all that counts!
We went to Home Depot today and I got a bunch of LGMH's and now I just have to figure out how to decorate my bag with them!
I finally have all our ADR's!

We're driving to the cities and leaving my car at my mother's who is then taking us to the airport. I bid all my lovely snowbirds goodnight! I will be here tomorrow most likely to say my goodbyes then off to the world!

Morning all! Thanks for all of you who are 'Reporting Live' !!!! Glad you are enjoying it!!!

Jen-Go ahead and bring that bathing suit!! It may be really warm one day and you'll wish you could be sittin' by that pool with a magazine resting!!!! Or--in the hot tub!!! They don't take up that much room anyway!

Well, I got lots of my snax at Target last night-kids were home with Mike, so I broke out!! I am gonna steal an idea from someone-----I have NO idea who's this was, so TIA! But, I am gonna make tiny snack bags for each kid per day. The little snack size Ziplocks-with a couple of Starburst, tiny M&M bag, and one or 2 other tiny pieces of candy. We have trail mix already bagged. That will just keep the "I'm STARVING" comments pushed back a little bit!! I like to use my snax credits for apples & stuff like that. My goal is to pack these up, and finish my box to be shipped this week---I will ship it by next Monday. Of course, I have to do all this in secret. So, I am happy that's done.

I am going to work on my Park Days today--they will play PSP and watch movies with Mike---or a friend after church today, so I may get to lock myself in my room & plan myself silly!!!!As for clothes... gotta just keep checkin' that weather!! I will have us in Jeans and bring the jackets with us on the plane---it's usually chilly when we fly out. So, I won't have to put that in a suitcase. Everyone has good tennis shoes, & I gotta get me and one of the kids a new pair of crocs---other than that we are great on footwear!

Good morning my fine feathered friends. This afternoon we will be heading over to MK. I'm a "little" disappointed because Pecos Bill is my absolutely favorite restaurant however it closes the 11...which is today. I wanted to eat there the first day but no one else wanted to, so now I don't get to eat there. Shelly may not be a completely happy person today. Ugh. Oh well I guess.

That is too funny! I know, it wasn't funny at the time. DS7 did the same thing about 3 Christmases ago at the Church Christmas play. So he would have been just 4 years old. Of course my kids had the very first lines in the play. After each child said their lines they were supposed to go back and sit with their parents until the end. So my kids say their lines and come back and sit down with us and DS4-then says - THERE. I SAID MY LINE. CAN WE GO NOW??? Talk about embarrassing!! Sure is funny looking back on it now though. And everyone else thought it was funny. I'm sure they thought it was funny but at the same time were glad it wasn't their child!
