January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

Hi snow friends happy Saturday. We are to get snow, but I am hoping for just rain. Everyone is in planning mood and I am in a state of depression. Missing WDW. I meant to tell you all that Splash Mountain was closed when we want to MK on 1/1 and it stayed closed as far as I could tell. It had a sign and that sign stayed there all week. Everyone that is leaving have great time. Any questions let me know. I just uploaded all my pictures that we took. Photo pass pictures came out horrible. Many are very blurry or eyes closed. I have to go to the market for some things for DS party tonight. I will try and check back in later.

Well that is interesting about Splash Mtn. . . The rehab was scheduled for Jan 4-17. Hope it opens on time!

If you can't find any, let me know. Each of my girls got two for Christmas, so we have two extra that we won't be using, and I'd be happy to mail them to any of my fellow snowbirds.


I am laminating and making a couple tags with my screen name and Snowbirds on it for our bags. I'm also using some with some other colors to make door magnets with our first names on them for our cruise cabin door. DH went nuts printing pictures on magnet paper that he found on DISigns thread so now we have 4 big magnet signs too!


It's never too late to join us! and I hope you have a great trip!


I'll bet you can for some of them, I've been able to change things and make new ones pretty easily with only a few weeks to go! Let us know if it works!

Actually it did...I changed two of my ADRs for lunch to two people...that way she and I can hang out all day and have lunch and we can part ways when I go to dinner or what not!!! I made sure with the CM that I could always go back to one if things didn't pan out and she said that a table for one is actually usually for two so it wouldn't be an issue at all! No hassle whatsoever!!!

The thing with the photopass is the one reason why I'm going to ask that they take one with my camera too!! Hopefully they will be able to oblige this solo traveller!!

My sister was in WDW in October and had no problems getting a photopass taken and then them taking one with her camera. But she also had a baby so maybe they were generous.. hah

So I'm down to one day left. I have nothing to do today but finish up some and wait till tonight when I will be going out with the girls for drinks and appetizers at applebee's. My DF will come to and be the only guy.. but I think he likes that one.

On a final note, all those on the east coast you are getting the snow that we northern MNers got last weekend! It dumped a total of 8 inches and was super super heavy at times with massive winds. Also very slippery so do be careful! Hopefully it'll die out and be gone for good.

Our cats talk to the birds, too! They also get down real low like they're going to pounce! Our lazy cats wouldn't know what to do if they got close to a bird, they'd probably run with their tails between their legs!!


So even though I still have 13 days before we leave, I started packing! I just couldn't stand it! I've packed most of the kids stuff (the shorts and swim stuff) since they can't wear it right now anyway! I need to to try find hubby's swim trunks and figure out what to wear to Cali Grill. I can't decide how dressed up I want to get! I may still go out and find me a cute top I can wear with dressy jeans and heeled flips. Where's Soleil when I need her?!?!?!?

I just had to share with my fellow snowbirds that while my ticker doesn't show it, we are now officially in the single digit club! 9 days, woop woop! I celebrated today by checking the mail and finally getting all my Disney documents. Disney had made a mistake with my ME stuff so our TA had to get us new ones. It was a nice surprise as well that our TA gave us a cute Disney waistpack! She's so great and I can't wait to start planning our next vacation with her.

Hooray for 9 days!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have a Fantasmic package on the 22nd? We do, so we will be sitting in that section.

We have the Fantasmic Dinner Package on the 22nd, too, but are having dinner at Hollywood and Vine. DH, DD (AllisonK), and I will be in the special seating section. She and I will have our LGMH on our bags - we visited Home Depot last night - LOL! If I find a recent picture, I'll post it!

Alright Ladies...so how are you laminating or protecting your LGHMs?? I tried to find the scrapbooking laminating stuff and Michael's didn't have it and its the only store in the area I know carries it. So any other ideas???

Hello all!!! I am at 14 days!!! Meghan--I have got to go to the tee-shirt store!! That is sooooo funny!! I told dh I was gonna make one for my stepdad with Happy dwarf that says...."I'm the Stepfather". That's what my nickname is for him---he's soooooo not the typical stepdad-he just wants to have fun everywhere we go. Wouldn't that be cute?!

Meghan and Kim--I think we may have to try and get ressies at T-Rex that 1st night.... My middle one is the dino man--so he would love it!!! Then we could all meet there!!!

As far as the airport---we should be landing around 1:45.....So I will be hunting those LGMH when I get there----especially at the Disney ME place!!

I think I'm going to have to make a t-shirt AND my own ears! You should definately try to get a ressie at T-Rex. I had no problem at all getting one. We'll be there at 6:30pm. Oh! And we're landing at MCO at 1:20pm!!!! We're not taking ME but maybe we'll still bump into each other! I'll make sure to have my LGMH on my bag.

Thank! I went to Target AGAIN today, and I still didn't see any. I'll check the grocery store on Monday.

OH Meghan - I just got an email from Crocs!! They shipped my order! I bet you will have yours in time for your trip too!

I got an email today too! I also signed up for email notifications from FedEx. It looks like they left Colorado at 5:30am this morning! Yea!!!

I hope that everyone is having a great day so far. My DD and I went to Ihop this morning. I got apple cinnamon struesel pancakes. Delicious! Then I had to return something at the mall and then we went to Target. I forgot a couple of things yesterday! I bought some bright pink and lime green luggage tags (my DH wasn't too keen on having pink luggage tags!). I'm also on the hunt for a fat pen for character autographs. I didn't see any at Target, so I just might have to wait until we get down there. I don't remember....do they sell autograph books at DTD, or do I have to wait to buy one until I get to one of the parks?

19th Breakfast at Tusker House

We may drop by the T-Rex Cafe when we are in DTD and see how busy it would be for a party of 11. A friend has eaten there several times and had no issues or ADR's so we'll see...it will be during the week anyhow.

I have to go get swimsuits out and capris for DD.....before I forget!

I bought a small packet of Scotch Self-Sealing Laminating Pouches today at Walmart for under $2.00. They say that they fit wallet-sized items. I haven't had time to see if the LGMH fit, but they look like they should. I am planning on putting two of them back-to-back (maybe with a lightweight sheet of cardboard between them), and then sealing them and cutting around the heads. I am going to try to put our screen-names on them with scrapbooking letters or pens before laminating. Then will punch a hole in the corner and use a key-ring circle to put them on our bags. Not sure if this will work, but it sounds good!

I just use High Performance Clear Scotch Packaging Tape. It's my generic lamination! And it works great!
