January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

Hello girls! Just wanted to say that weather wise I am in about the same boat as Soliel! It's gonna be up to around 75 by Thursday. It's very pretty outside today--in fact, we are doing some of our school out on the back porch! But don't envy me.....By the end of June we will be frying and loaded with humidity until after Halloween again!

Just wanted to say that I absolutely despise this computer!:badpc:
It really drives me crazy! Okay, just had to get that out!!!

They say it will warm up by Friday to 50, but of course rain. I am so ready to get outside and start doing things in the yard. Anyone else here into flowers and gardening? :flower3:

Wow!:thumbsup2 Am I ever! I live in the Frozen North East! If I have to scrape off the windshield full of ice one more time...... Went to The Christmas Tree Shop the other day and bought my bulbs:flower2: and brand new gardening tools but still can't see most of my backyard through the snow! :sad2: Just a little over 6 weeks till I'm basking in the glow of pixie dust...:tink: pixiedust: CAN"T WAIT I AM SOOOOO READY! :rotfl:

Me!!! DH and I have been reading through our seed catalogs and are ready to go to the local greenhouse and buy our plants!! Just need to decide what all we want to plant veggie wise. Can't wait to get all the flowers in the ground. We bought a new lilac bush last year and I can't wait to see it bloom - it has white flowers!!!

Can't get to the rocks...they're all covered with snow! :rotfl2:

:lmao:

I will try that site too. Thanks!

I am thinking I should give up winter for Lent!!
It was pretty nice yesterday and today (40!), but we're supposed to get up to 6" of snow tomorrow. Winter is SO not over here!! We always have state high school hockey and basketball tournaments in March and it's tradition that we get a snowstorm during one of them! To those enjoying a taste of spring - congrats you lucky ducks! Wish it were me.

I love lilic bushes. We have a purple one. Only thing is they bloom for a small amount of time, so make sure you cut some and take them inside to enjoy them. We have two buttefly bushes. I really cut back the older one last fall, hoping I did a good enough job.It was getting huge.
I will try that site too. Thanks!

That is a good one! If winter would only give us up too!

We too are getting a little "heat wave" today and tomorrow. It's in the mid 40's. By Friday, it will be back in the low 30's and high 20's. I can't wait for spring!

Hi Snowbirds. I come to you with sad news. My great aunt passed away today. She's been in a nursing home for a little less than a year now. She turned 85 in November and loved playing the Wii. Not to keep giving you bad news, but on Monday I found out my grandfather has cancer. If you could please keep my family in your prayers, I'd really appreciate it.

My sympathies on the passing of your great aunt. I will certainly keep your grandfather in my thoughts and prayers.

Meghan- I'm so sorry that you are going through all of that. I will keep you in my prayers.

We had amazing weather here today! In the high 60's! A friend and I went for a walk at lunch! I've been so sleep since then...I thought exercise was supposed to give me extra energy!

Right now I'm on the phone with Chase about my mortgage. They took over $1000 out of my acct that was unaccounted for, no one seems to know where it went. I called them a month ago when they wanted and extra $1400 or raise my payment $200 (I got this news the day we left for Disney but didn't deal with it until we got back). I talked to them then and they were going to research it and get back to me...well I got another statment and they still haven't found it and still want my extra $200 month. I'm waiting on person #3-first agent said I needed to talk to taxes, taxes say I need escrow...they play crappy wait music.

Sorry for all that you are going through Meghan. :grouphug:

OMG-After 20 minutes, I get transfered to the Escrow Dept and my call gets disconnected!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I call back and it took another 20 minutes for them to put a dispute on the acct to find out where my money is!! UGH!!! At least they said I could make the lower payment until "they" figure out the problem! I have a headache.

Hey snowbirds! I miss you ladies. I feel like a busy bee trying to keep up with my TR as well as my blossoming PJ. Posting like mad I tell you!

Meghan -- you're in my thoughts and I wish you and your family the best through this tough time.

I can't believe we still have this board and it's almost March!!

Meghan... our thoughts are with you and your family as you struggle with these difficult times..:grouphug:
