January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part IV !!!

My sister, monny2ae, and I can hopefully make it. We will arrive at CBR that morning. Maybe she can get the kiddie's to bed before 8:30 and then sneak out and hubbie will have it easy!!

Great! I keep forgetting you guys are sisters. The more the merrier. I'm so excited that this is going to work out!! Hopefully the weather will cooperate!

My 6 yr old has finally developed an opinion on clothes!! UGH! He likes things that are too short, doesn't like anything that has a button, only wants to wear specific socks. I'm not ready for this! I liked when he wore anything I laid out for him. Darn kids and their own personalities!

I have a 5 year old DD like that. She will only wear sweatpants, one pair of jeans, or dresses. She has only 3 pair of undies that she says fit (despite the 12 others in the drawer that are the same size,) and today was wearing a navy blue Twins t-shirt, magenta sweats and yellow socks. This was her outfit for the family gathering at my cousin's house! At least she now wears sweats that are not four inches too short wearing out at the knees! Progress!

Wow. The Cheesecake Factory has HUGE portions! I had a mini barbeque chicken pizza and side salad, but I had to leave room for cheesecake (of course!). My DH and I split a slice of chocolate peanut butter cookie dough cheesecake. It was super delicious! Our DD had a great time at the movies with Grandma too. Now, I need a quick cat nap because we rented "Step Brothers" and I want to be able to stay up and watch it!

My DH and I went there for the first time on Veteran's day. We had the day off work and the kids had school YUMMMM! We had lunch there and had phenomenal food and service! I didn't eat dinner that night!

CBR meet - We don't get there until the 26th , probably later in the day. I will look for anyone with a LGMH or a Snowbirds tag or shirt, or anyone I recognize from pictures.
I have no clue how to post pictures, but can give a description of our family before hand. I won't be shy about asking anyone if you are a snowbird. What's the worst that could happen? Someone thinks I'm nuts? I'm used to that!!

Oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! We had neighbors over and played Mexican train dominoes and ate snacks. The kids all played so nice. Everyone left at 11:30! Seemed so silly since we all were going to end up staying up til midnight anyway!! It was fun though. Today we went to my cousin's to celebrate Christmas with them. The kids put a gingerbread house together and ate it as soon as we took pictures! It was fun to hang out and relax for the afternoon. My DDs went home with Grandma and Papa for a sleepover. we have to work tomorrow and they were going to babysit anyway. This way they don't have to get up early and go out in the cold! So DH and I are hanging out, talking Disney!!
I hope this year brings everyone what they need! My resolution is to take care of myself better and to stop and smell the roses more. Just to enjoy life more - I think going to WDW is a good start!

Also I ordered transfers from Amy Mickey (www.amymickey.com) and they are AMAZING. I bought my first pack of Avery from Staples and they did not turn out near as good as the ones I got from Amy Mickey.

Oh on the topic of tanning -
I normally am pretty dark - my skin is olive toned - and I tan easily. I have used some of that Jergens lotion that tans gradually, I forget the name. It worked good, no orange skin. But it does take some time. I like being tan in the winter, just because hardly anyone in MN has a tan! Then people always say, oh where did you go?

T-shirts - do you have to have a good printer? I just got a new one and haven't hooked it up yet, but wondered if it mattered. And is there a better type of shirt? I'd love to make some, but I'm afraid 1) I'll screw it up! and 2) I'll run out of time! These next 3 (!) weeks are going to FLY by! In the meantime, we have our usual schedule, I have to get the Brownie troop ready to start selling cookies, take down Christmas, go to 2 Broadway shows in Mpls, PACK!, and make a final decision on whether Sarah and I will fly down. Yup, we're still debating that!

ps. all this talk of tanning really scares me! My doctor told me that tanning is actually more dangerous than actually being in the sun! I'll be the pasty white girl wearing 10 pounds of sunscreen!

My printer is not good at all, we got it about three years ago for like $80 so I think it's on the low end of printers. As for screwing it up, I would be the one to do that (I burnt peanut brittle this Christmas) but it's actually pretty easy. You want to use 100% cotton shirts and it takes no time at all. Just print, cut & iron. All my friends and family were amazed I did it but it's really super easy I just let them think it's hard

It's so nice to read other mommies have the same issue- problem is my DD is 9. She's borderline fashion carazy, but can't match colours or know what fits her properly.
Last night we ventured to the Disney Tote! Wow do we have alot of shirts. we planned on making our own- but we don't need to. With the Disney Store sales we don't need to!

yesterday one Shopping Outlet was open- including the Dinsey Outlet! We went shopping!

We got...
DH- Sweatshirt and PJs
Me- PJ's and longsleeve tink shirt
DD- PJ's

and I got my mom - 2 tshirts- Minne and Tink!

We also shopping for luggage and park bags.
I have a Baggalini which I took on vacation to the UK and liked (did not love) it for the plane. I also tried it out at our local theme park (Paramount Canada's Wonderland) and hated it for carrying around the park!
I also need a new wallet and possibly a suit case- one case got ripped on our last vacation and I can just see that tear growing as we head to Orlando!
