Thanks for the reminder - I usually save everything - tickets, brochures etc. Before I started scrapbooking, they just ended up in a pile, eventually getting tossed.

I found this great laminating stuff they sell at Michaels where I can now save all that stuff and put it in my scrapbook and not have to worry about it...I love doing that with my tickets!

We're still trying to figure this out. At first, we were just going to wake her up the morning we leave and tell her what's going on. Then, I had an idea of making a book about Princess Madison and it was her wish to go to WDW. On the last page, it would say something like "And today, her wish is coming true!" We were thinking of having her read it out loud while we taped her or something. Then, idea #3. My uncle owns a costume shop in Orlando. He has 4 princess costumes that closely resemble the Disney Princesses. He said he would have some of his actress friends dress up and meet us at the airport with a sign that said Princess Madison. I don't know if I can keep quiet on the plane for that long! Any suggestions??

Oh, yes! Don't listen to me if you are used to colder weather! I freeze in 60 degree weather.

Yeah I laughed when you said you were packing a winter jacket! Sorry hun, my coat will be worn in the car to the airport then left there, for my behind will be in FL not WI, so I will not be wearing a coat!

It's hard to tell people what to pack. Some might still consider 60 cold while others do find it warm. It's something you really need to figure out on your own. I'll wear jeans the whole time I'm there. But I'm comfortable in jeans whether it's 110 or -30. I bring a sweatshirt (that I wear on the plane) and then t-shirts.

I wish I was able to surprise my kids...it sounds like so much fun! But I used DS5 to help convince my DH that this was a good idea! He can't say no to DS5.

I just realized that I have been planning this trip for 1 year! We started talking about this at Christmas last year I am kinda feeling like I don't know what to do with myself...all my planning is done and ALL of my projects are done too! Did anybody else go over board with making things for your trip? I love the book idea too!!

I wish I was able to surprise my kids...it sounds like so much fun! But I used DS5 to help convince my DH that this was a good idea! He can't say no to DS5.

I just realized that I have been planning this trip for 1 year! We started talking about this at Christmas last year I am kinda feeling like I don't know what to do with myself...all my planning is done and ALL of my projects are done too! Did anybody else go over board with making things for your trip? I like that book idea! Then as she reads it, maybe she'll be figuring it out! So cute. You're not telling her until the day you leave right? Do you have a secret place you're packing?

I won't start packing until the week we leave. #1-No place to pack secretly and #2-I know that I'm not forgettting anything if I pack everything at the same time. I typically pack the day before we leave on trips. I make lists throughout the week and then pack everything at once. There are just 3 people in my family, so it's really not a big deal. I'll most likely pack my DD's stuff on Friday (the 23rd) while she's in school. That way, she won't notice anything suspicious!

Thanks for the input everyone! I like the idea of making a book as well. I just don't know when to have her read it. I thought she could read it at the airport as we wait to board the plane. My DH thinks that's a bad idea. He thinks she'll be more comfortable reading it at home. I still have time (40 days to be exact) to figure this all out. I'm driving myself crazy!!!

You just add your names, ect and you pass them along to CM's that make your trip extra special. I think it's a great idea, I think it would be a really tough job being "that" happy to all those cranky guests so this is a nice way to let them know they are appreciated

I'm still debating what parks which day, where to eat, what to pack, etc. I've figured out what I'm not doing (the kids said no to the pressed pennies, yes to the Epcot passports). What are the nugget wrappers and invitations for?

Oh my gosh! Time has really gotten away from me, I just remembered to order my customized maps. They say they will be shipped in 2-4 weeks, which puts shipping the Monday before we leave if it's 4 weeks! I'm such an idiot

I hope that they will get here sooner since the bookings are down and they shouldn't be so busy. I would hate to not have them when we are there. I guess I can print them out if absolutely necessary, but I SO want the printed maps.

For those of you who ordered them, how long did they actually take?

I would love to start our packing, but having never been before in January (we have always gone in mid-April during school vacation), I have no idea how to pack and what to pack. I know that about 2 weeks prior to leaving, I'll start monitoring the extended forecast for Orlando, but I am so confused about what to expect. D and I would be more than happy to do capris every day, but is this realistic (we are going the 22nd - 26th)? I know we should pack a few pairs of jeans and some long sleeves, along with a fleece jacket, but should be do short sleeve shirts and shorts too? Is a coat necessary? I have even been told to bring gloves/hats.

I don't want to overpack (which H says that I am famous for no matter where we go - LOL). I guess I can start with our toiletries and things like that, but would like to get some of this done over the upcoming school vacation between Christmas and New Years. Any help would be appreciated!

Here in the south, our weather is somewhat similar to Orlando. (You never know what you are going to get.) For example, this week's prediction is 50-70-45-45-70.

Just as Jen said, I would suggest packing a bit of everything. Lots of layers. I'm going to wear longsleeve shirts under shortsleeve shirts. If it gets too hot, I can just shed the LS shirt. I'm also bring a wintercoat, just in case. I plan on wearing jeans everyday, but that's just me.

You can track the Orlando winter weather on accuweather.com. It gives a forecast 15 days out. I've been watching it everyday. It seems that the high is in the 70's and the low is in the 50's.

I think I'm going to wait and check as it gets closer. I'm comfortable in jeans at 70degrees but at 75 I'll probably be more comfy in capri's or shorts. I think I'll do the layers thing. I have some cute Disney Tshirts and a couple long sleeve white shirts to wear underneath. Boy thank goodness we are driving and don't have to worry about the weight of our suitcases!

I think they might get it when they see the sunglasses. DH doesn't think they'll get it until they see the - "you might need these for the plane" part! We'll see. . .

As you can see, I'm actively engaged in work avoidance today!

It was me but I canceled it because of the diver and menu- plus we aren't doing the dining plan so it's an expensive meal out of pocket. I only picked there for the menu and diver. Now we're going to celebrate his birthday at Chef Mickey's in the morning!

We're still trying to figure this out. At first, we were just going to wake her up the morning we leave and tell her what's going on. Then, I had an idea of making a book about Princess Madison and it was her wish to go to WDW. On the last page, it would say something like "And today, her wish is coming true!" We were thinking of having her read it out loud while we taped her or something. Then, idea #3. My uncle owns a costume shop in Orlando. He has 4 princess costumes that closely resemble the Disney Princesses. He said he would have some of his actress friends dress up and meet us at the airport with a sign that said Princess Madison. I don't know if I can keep quiet on the plane for that long! Any suggestions??

I have all that on my agenda for after Christmas! Boy am I gonna be one busy little Snowbirdie! The only thing I'm making earlier are tshirts for my parents. They are going to say Pop-Pop's Mouseketeers and Grandmom's Mouseketeers and have mouse ears with each of the Grandkids names on them. I'll post pics when I get them done.

That's so nice- we need to use these in the real world too! Perhaps if more people felt appreciated, there wouldn't be so many grumps!
