Just wanted to say "Good Evening" to everyone.

It's been a madhouse here todayd...we have the flu going around. Also one of my good friends has left her husband...she has 2 year old and is pregnant...it was not a good situation...so I think it's a good development...hopefully this luck up for her and her family...please keep her and her family in your thoughts.


Since I didn't get on the computer earlier...I missed the new deal announcment...by the time I check...the values were not available. Oh well I still saved some money and got the gift card...I'm happy for that.

Good Morning and Happy Friday!! Today is the day...I'm going to get my tree and put it up LOL!! Yes for real this time LOL!!! Then I'm going to make cookies and hopefully clean up the house...It's been a crazy zoo around these parts lately.

More good news my last homework assignment was turned in last night so I only have one test to do left and I'm done with grad classes for a long time. I will have my Masters in Ed with 20grads hours of science which will allow me to teach as an instructor at a college or university in Science YAY!

I also planned our teen Christmas party so that's out of the way YAY!! Now to focus on the house and the play I'm in that takes place on the 14th and I'm still not all that confident on my lines...so pray for me...but it will all work out, it always does...

So what is my new countdown 14 days...you heard right 14 days...until CHRISTMAS BREAK...and 2 whole weeks off...man I may always be behind in grading...but nothing is more glorious than having Christmas Vacation time LOL!!

Well now that I have mini ranted LOL...have a great day!

It's been a long day. I hope you don't mind . . . i'm going to be a debbie downer for a few minutes. I just found out that my dad has prostate cancer. i'm a little bummed about it. He'll be having surgery on the 16th which will hopefully take care of things. My mom and I both had our own issues with cancer in the last two years and now this.

I have faith that all will be well. I'm a big believer in early detection.

Anyway . . . I'm wiping the sadness away and putting my faith in God's hands.

Onto Disney stuff. What is with the new discount? I'm too lazy right now to see what's going on.

Cancer is never an easy thing to deal with. You're in our prayers.

I'm so jealous of your 2-week vacation. DH is kicking around switching careers and becoming a teacher. He used to be an adjunct at one of the local colleges, so I know he would LOVE it!

Victoria & Albert, hands down! We love fine dining, and this is the only 5 star restaurant in Central Florida, never mind Disney. And it goes along with the magic of Disney - I can pretend I can afford it! (We're doing it anyway!)

So sorry for you - but the other posters are right. Prostate cancer is one of the most curable forms of cancer around, and early detection makes it even more so. Good luck to you all.

The new discount is a room-only. I didn't save much with the 4/3, since we had to upgrade (to a water view which I don't care about) to get it; we only saved on the gift card. So I checked this new code, and guess what? No mods available during my dates for this one either! So no big buck savings for me, but we'll be at Disney!

But I did get some bit of a discount (and I've totally lost my mind ) - I decided that I would upgrade to an AP when we got there, so I got an AP discount at POP! I really wanted Tables in Wonderland, since we're not doing the dining plan, and I know we're going to want cocktails and such. The first night there, we're actually going to get cocktails & appetizers at each of the monorail resorts. So I figured out what we'd have to spend to make the AP + TiW worth it, and it does, in fact, make sense (see V&A above; TiW works there). So I'm splurging! (And I'll have an excuse for another trip this year! )

Don't worry... I doubt the Values were available at all for this deal in January. The way I see it, every time they release a new discount the availability is less, so taking a deal early on is probably the best deal. I did check for March and there was availability in the values though.
I think that January is about as full as they expect it to be, but they're more worried about the later months. The people going in January probably already decided to go a long time ago, so they budgeted it. Besides, crowd levels are usually low. However, later in the year I think they're expecting lower than usual crowd levels which could really affect their ability to turn a profit, and they probably want to get as many people as possibly locked in as early as possible so they can decide what other cuts they need to make.


I went to the doctor yesterday and ended up getting a Tetanus shot and a flu shot. Apparently their records show that I hadn't got a Tetanus shot since I was 5. I'm pretty sure they made me get one before I started High School in Georgia, but the records got crossed. Either way it was probably time to get one, and I really wanted a Flu shot so there's less of a chance I get sick while at Disney.

Okay, I just checked out the new code. If I switch to AKL, I will save $150.
Do you think it is worth it? I've kind of planned everything around Wilderness Lodge. G sounds excited about the possiblity of AKL, but it might be too far out from everything.

I just read on another thread - AKL is in a different county than the other resorts (as are the All-Stars), with a higher hotel tax rate. So, if it makes you feel better, since you decided not to move, you may not have saved any money after all!

We sometimes forget that Walt's philosophy was not which hotel you are staying at, or what spa treatments you were getting, but to stay young at heart and enjoy the little things-

"Why do we have to grow up? I know more adults who have the children's approach to life. They're people who don't give a dang what the Joneses do. You see them at Disneyland every time you go there. They are not afraid to be delighted with simple pleasures...."

As Walt so perfectly summed it up, "I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse."

I'm off to help out in my kids' classes this a.m. Then run a couple errands. I plan to stay in this weekend and clean and bake. Not necessarily in that order. LOL My newest countdown:
7 days until my GIRLS weekend and final payment due for WDW package
10 days until DD5's school concert
13 days until DDs holiday dance performance
20 days until Christmas and a Wii filled day!
25 days until 1st date anniversary (13 years!)
49 days until we hit the road (with our new GPS!)

It's a quiet Friday both here and at work! We just spent 30 minutes studying a website for our favorite kinds of cupcakes to order for our staff holiday party. These are very important things on Fridays, you know.

We're not supposed to get over 20 today, so it's going to be a chilly day. Of course, it's also Midnight Madness in downtown (small town) with some really great sales. I have some running tights to put on underneath my jeans and the rest of my warm clothes... hate to miss a bargain!

Then we have a Michigan hockey game tonight, too. Tonight, there's a teddy bear toss where fans are encouraged to throw things (okay, stuffed animals, wrapped in plastic) on the ice. We picked up a few of the Kohl's $5 stuffed animals (where they donate a portion of the proceeds to charity). Hopefully the children who get them will be very happy with their new plush toys!!

Now... to make the day move faster!

It's supposed to get up to 45 here today. Right now it's at 22 and feels like 14. I was outside for about 30 minutes and my fingers froze. Plus, I'm wearing a scarf today. If I wear it up around my nose and mouth, then every time I breath my glasses fog up.

At Disney right now it's Sunny and 70.
