Oooh I got my 2009 Deluxe in the mail yesterday I love it!! I haven't had time to enter all my info into it yet but that is the plan this weekend!! Now I'll have this on top of my massive binder!!

I started entering info into my 2007 edition as a trial run. Now, I can start to enter my REAL info now that my plans are all figured out! I don't know when I'm going to do that, but hopefully soon!

So I lied about the snow outside my door today. It is snowy slush. I currently do not have boots (they're getting repaired) so I had to wear my sneakers to the bus stop. My toes are soaked and I don't have canvas sneakers! It rained last night and then turned into snow so now it's just plain gross outside.

I love to cross-stitch, too! Just finished two birth records for my aunt, who recently became a grandmother times 2. Maybe I'll join you over on 123stitch.com after Thanksgiving!

Woohoo!

Here's my last update of my current WIP: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sarbah77/2997645892/

I've actually done a LOT more, but i'll probably take it off the q-snap tonight. Then I'll take a picture and put it away for the weekend. It's not exactly a traveling project!!

Looks like I am the early bird today.... DH was up early and making to much noise.... thats okay... I have tons to do this morning before I drive over to Lockport (by Buffalo).... need coffee first...

My DH and I usually leave the house around 7:35 each morning. Some mornings earlier, some mornings later. Today, right on the nose.

There was no traffic, so we were able to turn left out of our subdivision without having to wait.

At the first big intersection, we were the first car at an already red light.

We got to work in 10 minutes - and usually it's closer to 15. DH thought we were just "early" - but the grade school isn't in session today and half the U's staff has the day off. It's great. But, DH thought we were early birds, too!

Target emailed out their links to their 2 day Thanksgiving day sale, so my coworker and I spent time, pouring over that this morning. It's going to be a very quiet day!!

Good Morning all!!!:goodvibes Happy Thanksgiving Eve! It's chilly-ish here, suppose to rain tomorrow, but I hope it stays away for the day-at least until after we eat--I was going to put the kids on an extra table on the back porch-can't if it's pouring:sad2: Well...I'll figure something out-I always do:)

Wendy, what day is your surgery again? & prayers to you!!!!

Sarah-I love that!!! I used to cross-stitch/embroidery a lot in jr. high and high school. Haven't done it in 4ever. I miss it-now that my kids are all past toddler-hood I would love to start up again. I need to know the best place to go to refresh myself!

Hope you all have a very productive day so you can enjoy the Holiday. I gotta start chopping/slicing today, get my sweet potatoes cooked, finish a little decorating around the house and finish my:laundy: of course! that never ends I guess. And Yes! My ticker finally has a 1 in it, so whoo-hooo for me:cheer2: Talk to ya'll busy bees later!

Just wanted to say thanks for the menu Shelly-that's one of our favs. If you are teetering about this resteraunt go for it! The soup is awesome-and the cheese platter too. We love the atmosphere as well. Just a nice cozy family place.

Can I vent for a minute?....thanks!

So my mother is the youngest of 5. Her 3 brothers all live within 20 minutes of us and her sister lives in Kentucky. Her 95 yr old mother lives with us (now let me just say that I know I am very lucky to say that my grandmother is 95 yrs. old and is still in decent health and is pretty mobile and is still together in her head - although we are starting to see a decrease in that lately. Really I do know that I am lucky to spend my days with her.). So with Thanksgiving coming up we figured someone would want Grandma with them...right. Ok well no, no one has called or invited her anywhere, well that's ok, we are doing a meal here, so no biggie right.

However this is just the tip of the ice berg of no one doing anything with Grandma. When we go to Disney, Grandma will be spending some time in Kentucky with my aunt. So my mom and I figured they would want grandma for Christmas down there....oh no, my aunt will be driving up here New Years Day and then she and her husband will be spending a few days in Southern WI where my cousin's wife is living (don't get me started on that subject....:sad2: ). So since we leave on the 7, we figure we won't really have much time to get ready for our trip. Ok well, who cares, we just want to get the h*ll out of here.

So now my grandma is starting to say things about "being shipped around like an unwanted package" all the time. When she sees a Wal-mart bag or something she makes comments about wanting to go places, well yes we get that, however I'm not about to take a 95 yr old to the mall on a Saturday anymore.

I have on uncle in particular that I just feel the need to punch whenever I am in his presence. His wife is a not nice word. She calls my aunt and says that "we don't let anyone take Grandma for the day." Well their definition of the day is to pick g-ma up at 2pm for dinner and return her by 6...yeah that's ALL DAY!

I've considered sending a letter to my uncles (because actually talking to them would get me no where because one of them just hangs up on you when he doesn't like what you are saying). My mother wants me to just drop it. However, and I hate saying this, but my mother is a pushover. She never says no, but just keeps taking more on. She feels guilty about doing anything without Grandma because she doesn't get out much anymore.

We are all at our wits end with this, but no one is doing anything to help. A part of me really wants to say something to everyone, just so I can defend my mother, but I also don't want to hurt her even more because her siblings would turn everything against us and make it all our fault. Today my mom started to talk about looking for plane tickets to come back home earlier than the rest of us, so that she doesn't have to "bother" any one else's lifestyles.

There is so much more that goes on with this and it just frustrates me. Everyone in our house is constantly crabby with each other because things just keep piling up and we really don't see an end in sight :sad2: :(

Thanks for letting me vent. It's been a long time dealing with this, but like I said previously, I do feel very lucky to have this time with my g-ma and hear all the stories she has to tell  .

Ok, off to make tacos now. Have a good night.

I am the youngest of seven. My two brothers passed away both at young ages, 17 and 27. So it was just us five girls, but I was the one who did everything for my mom. My one sister lived not even five streets away from my mom when she passed, but never once on a regular day stop in to see if she need anything. She would on her birthday, mothers day, or when she needed some cash. So I total understand. I am getting no help in handle any of my moms affairs, bills etc from my sisters.
Hang in there! :grouphug:

Well, D made it snug and safe to my aunt's house - this was her first really long drive :drive: by herself, in the dark on small roads, too. She did really well, and once I heard her voice at the end of the line saying, "I'm here", I was able to sleep! And thank G-d for GPS - it made sure she didn't get lost!

And this afternoon, it's our turn! :car: Can't wait to see D and everyone, especially the little ones (1 year old and 18 months old). They change so fast at that age!

QOTD: Where are we going? To family about 4 hours away. What are we bringing? Pumpkin pie & sweet potato pie. I make my pumpkin pie using a real pumpkin, not canned. The flavor is so much more intense! Love it!

Hope all have a wonderful turkey day tomorrow. Wishing safe travels to all!

:bday: party:
Happy early birthday to all the other December birthday snowbirds!

QOTD: We're going to my in-laws on Thursday with DH's family. It's going to be a smaller group this year than other years. I'll be bringing my Harvest Spiced Pecans.

On Saturday, we're going to my brother and sister-in-law's house to celebrate with my family. I'm bringing the good 'ole green bean casserole (except I make mine with cream of chix/cheddar cheese soup) and Pumpkin Pie Crumble Cake (my favorite).

DH also found a recipe for Chocolate Pecan Pie that he wants me to make sometime this weekend. Sounds good to me!

I really need to get to the grocery store!!!

Yea for coming to WNY! My DH works in Lockport! Anyways.....I'm feeling a little yucky today. My throat is a little sore, but I know it will get better throughout the day. I'm totally losing my voice though and that stinks because I love to talk! Woke up to a snow covered yard. Nothing major, but I'm still not ready for snow. I have to go to the gym and meet with my dance team's trainer today. My abs are still a mess from last week's workout!

I'm totally excited for Thanksgiving tomorrow! I love watching the Macy's parade every year! Well, have a good day everyone. I'll be back later.

I had to laugh at myself - when I first read this I thought it said you felt "lucky" and then I just didn't understand! :rolleyes1 Duh. I love the parade too!

I wish I had all the 1's in my ticker
I second that!! Although I am at 60 DAYS!!
So, the local radio station had a Question of the Day especially for Thanksgiving....Where are you going, what are you taking?
I am going no where..my family hunts, so I'm going to buy myself a pumpkin pie and dream of turkey and stuffing.

Want to come with me? We are going to my parents' house, about 15 minutes away. I am bringing wine and sweet potato casserole (which I could put in a pie shell it's so sweet!)[/COLOR]

I really need to get to the grocery store!!!

Sounds yummy - you and 40,000 others will be at the store today!
One year I went to the store the Friday after Thanksgiving (since we didn't host and didn't have leftovers - I needed groceries). Everyone else was at the mall I guess, it was so quiet!! Best time to grocery shop!

QOTD: Where are we going?
We are going to my mom and dads house for Thanksgiving, its a tradition we go every year. After dinner everyone helps decorate the house with all of the Christmas decorations, thats if we are not all in a coma from all of the turkey! :rotfl:

Wow - time is flying by now! I can't believe it! It's almost time for me to make my final payment (boo!) on my package (yay!).

Just noticed for all of you Vera Bradley fans, ruelala.com is having their VB boutique open tomorrow morning. For those of you who don't know, ruelala is like a designer outlet, they have extremely discounted designer stuff in limited time boutiques. They have a generous return policy (yay!) for most things (not underwear, etc). If you want an invitation to join it, just send me a PM. It is free.

Man, that seemed like a creepy pyramid-scheme infomercial. Sorry about that - it's not, but it is an invitation-only website (I think it started from overstock? smartbargains?). I think it's because their stuff sells out so quickly.

Not much going on here. I am totally procrastinating cleaning my house. My sister and her family arrive tomorrow for a few days and I'm really looking forward to that!

Good morning Snowbirds! :cool1: :cool1:

I've been away for several days while my sister and nieces were visiting. But I just got all caught up :surfweb: with the Snowbird chattiness! I was thinking of you all on Monday, when we went to the Smithsonian's Museum of American History (which just reopened after a 2-year refurb). Right there in a prominent spot they have...a DUMBO ride vehicle! :dumbo: It is from Disneyland, though. I wanted to take a picture but of course I had forgotten my camera. :sad2: But anyway I was excited to see such an important part of American history represented there. ::MickeyMo

QOTD: We are staying home--I love cooking Thanksgiving dinner and I love the leftovers! :thumbsup2 We usually have someone over (family, friends, whoever) but this year it's just us. I went grocery shopping yesterday. The turkey is defrosting in the fridge, but I think I'm going to have to put it in water.

:bday: to Mr. Shelly!

Im just curious does anyone think the crowds are going to be up this January because of the promotions? We usually go in January becuase it has low crowds but I am starting to get a little worried.:sad2:

From what I've heard/read, it may cause a small increase, but the big change will be people staying onsite versus offsite. If that's the case, it won't affect park crowds much, but the buses may be more crowded than usual.

Thank you, thats good to know. Good thing is we are staying at the Wilderness Lodge so we will be able to use the monorail and boats most of the time instead of the buses....I hate crowded buses!
