We have lots to be thankful for and lets all remember that God has truly blessed us all!!!! Talk to ya'll later....gotta run!!!

You are so right, we all have so much to be thankful for. Great families, great Snowbird friends, and a trip to WDW coming up! We are truly blessed. :goodvibes :grouphug:

My morning started a little grumpy with a couple of email notices from my bank that someone was trying to access our online account last night while dh and I were sleeping peacefully- and yes I was dreaming of Disney Crocs! If they only knew how little $$$ was in there:lmao: ! So I just finished changing passwords and ID's and pulling up my credit reports and all of that fun stuff. I just don't understand how some people go so wrong in life:confused3 . It's really sad that someone would want to take what little we have and not even think twice.

Good morning all!
Monny, I know that feeling and it's scary!, I have been a victim of identity theft twice before in he past 10 years and I work for a police department!. I get nervous everytime I get something in the mail from a credit card company. People that do that kind of thing do not care about anything!

Just got back from the grocery store. I wanted to go and get everything I needed for the week before it got any closer to Thanksgiving.

My Dad and step-Mom do Thanksgiving at their house. But I still bring several things. I am doing the potatoes, the rolls, and the desserts this year.

The kids don't have any real Thanksgiving parties or programs at school. But I have been very busy organizing Santa's Workshop. We set up for it on Wednesday. Then it will start the following Tuesday, the day the kids go back after the break. I started calling for volunteers last Tuesday and some people still haven't called me back! :sad2: Come on people, if you don't want to help that's fine, just don't sign up and then not bother to call back. You know??? So frustrating!! I am already short on volunteers because the school now requires anyone coming into the school to have their clearances and a TB test. A lot of parents won't go get those things for some reason. :confused3 So I am limited on who I can call in the first place. Oh well, it will all work itself out in the end I suppose!

Question of the Day anyone???

Okay, this is not really Disney related. . . Well I guess it is to those of you driving. Just curious how much gas is everywhere???

While I was in the grocery store the gas dropped from $2.09 to $2.05.

So it is now $2.05 here in western PA.

Now when we were in Niles Ohio Saturday it was $1.79 there. Can you believe that??? Why so much cheaper only an hour away???

I know we were all wondering about the hours changing - just read this on All Ears ~

*** From January 9 - April 3, Epcot will close at 8:00pm on FRIDAYS. Extra Magic Hour for Resort Guests will take place from 8:00pm - 11:00pm (11/24/08) ***

QOTD: I paid $1.79 yesterday (NE Maryland).

Well at least you got it early and was able to put a stop to it!! I'm very paranoid about people getting ahold to of my information. I have fraud alerts on all my things and I make sure that if anyone tries to take out a line of credit in my name that the banks contact me first.

The nerve of some people! It's a shame their mamas didn't raise them better! Everything looks good so far- nothing out of the ordinary on my credit reports- except for all this debt. Someone took out a mortgage in my name and charged up a Disney Visa with a trip to WDW- oh wait that was me!

Well said- the Snowbirds always know how to brighten my day and make me remember all the good blessings in my life.

Good luck I'm sure the school appreciates all your help! (As a former teacher- thanks! I was always grateful for moms like you always going the extra mile!:thumbsup2 )

Phooey! I wish they would just set the times and let it be.

Happy Monday all! I went to work as normal this morning, but heard on the news that there was a massive power failure near my office. But I couldn't get confirmation that my office was affected. Well, it was - no power at all. So they sent us all home. Now I'm back at home, and I'll be able to do a lot of things I had planned for after work, and some stuff I hadn't planned at all! :rotfl:It's so nice having a Monday off without it being charged against vacation!

See, that's what so great about these boards. I just learned something about Chanukah! I knew about latkes, but not about the kosher- meat/milk restrictions. Very interesting. Thanks!

Is your D away at college coming for Thanksgiving? I hope you have a great visit!!

Evening Everyone! :wave2:

Sadly, I learned this while teaching day care way back when and I accidentally gave a little boy milk with his bologna sandwich! Yikes! I felt terrible! :scared:

Yes, the rules of kashrut (keeping kosher) don't apply just to Chanukah. Those dietary laws are required all year round; they get very complicated, and additional rules exist for Passover. Monny, don't feel too bad; inadvertently breaking the rules, especially by someone not required to follow them, is quite forgiveable. No one is born knowing these things!!

And yes, my d is coming home from college for Thanksgiving. Can't wait to see her!

I just got gas at Wawa for $1.93 about 15 minutes ago, Blue Bell , S/E Pa.

Around here (eastern MA), I can get gas for between $1.79 and $2.10, depending on the station. And this varies within a few miles, never mind an hour away! :scared1: Gotta shop carefully!

Don't worry, Shelly...it's higher here!:lmao: It's down from nearly $8/gallon to about $6.25 or so/gallon. We're happy! I can't wait to hit the US and be paying just $2/gallon!:thumbsup2

So, my peeps are doing well, I hope! Things have been insane. First time online today. We spent the day cleaning out the kids' room and trying to get ourselves ready for our big move. Blech. Not cool.

But, today was my FINAL PAYMENT DAY!!!! I paid the final payment last night, so that means it's just 45 more days until I see DISNEY WORLD! I'm so excited to be counting down! Just 3 weeks until I'm in the USA too! It's all good!

Will you still be checking in with us once you get to the U.S.? You are coming to PA first, right?

I hope he's not a Gopher fan too. The U of M lost 55 - 0 yesterday. It was embarassing! That could have brought on some serious cussing!

No, he's a Michigan fan. So he opted not to watch the game on Saturday. My friend and I went to the mall during the Michigan/OSU game and the mall was PACKED like it never is. Guess everyone else was avoiding the enivetable anyway!

We're at $1.699. Prior to the recent drop, we were one of the most expensive places in the country. Michigan. what the heck? Now, we're on the super-cheap end for the first time in YEARS.

I think I am going to have to bring my own Thanksgiving dinner. My DH and I briefly considered the possibility of me staying home this year... I can't drive without discomfort (yet, being a passenger is okay - I bet I slouch v. sitting up straight when I drive). I can't eat spicy/spiced foods. I haven't even tried dairy yet, since the spiced foods was a new discovery...

Thanksgiving is about celebration and family. I have a new niece to meet. I haven't seen DH's family in ages. I suspect that his family will be happy to see me and understanding of the fact that I've packed my own foods, which will be better than staying home and not seeing them at all. Plus, by bringing what I can eat takes the onus off of them trying to accomdate me.

I was pondering bringing salad fixings, since that's not something they generally serve. I don't particularly like turkey anyway, but I tolerate it better when it's in a salad (and buried under dressing shhhh ;)). I'm also considering packing a roast beef sandwich. I just don't know. I'm open to suggestions!!

On a Disney note:

Did anyone see Bolt this weekend? We went and were pleasantly surprised. It was very good, I don't think it will become a Disney "classic" but it's certainly not another "The Wild". Kid's will like it (duh!) and it had enough adult jokes to keep it moving along. All in all a pretty decent movie that now has our kid's excited to do the meet and greet with Bolt at HS.:thumbsup2

Well said! We are one lucky bunch of birds! Especially since we're not turkeys!

Now I'm wishing I lived in Minnesota! I wonder if I have an outlet near me somewhere?
QUOTE]

I found out someone was trying to access my account when I went to use my debit card at a store and it was DECLINED! I called the bank and they had cancelled it because of suspected fraud - two days prior! They didn't bother to call me! I was PO'd. It took them 2 months to get my money (about $200) back that somehow got spent. It was so weird b/c it was spent in CA and I never lost a card or anything. All computer stuff I guess.

Well, why wouldn't anyone want to live in Minnesota?

This morning I saw a station with $1.67. (of course, my car takes premium (usually .20 more) and I got gas yesterday.

$8 a gallon :scared1:

Will you still be checking in with us once you get to the U.S.? You are coming to PA first, right?

Yep, I'll still check in! I'm not sure how soon we'll have internet at our house, but my Mom's got wireless and a cable modem, so I'll be able to get online as much as I want too. I can't wait until we all start going and returning and can share about our Disney adventures!:cheer2:

We're at $1.77... not too shabby! However, it's less even just outside Manhattan. Unfortunately, they enjoy gouging college students. Apparently, it has something to do with college students not paying taxes here, so everybody pays more for gas.

I'm just glad it's below $2. It's sad that you can't really store gas though, because it would be nice to store a ton of it while it's down low, then if/when it goes back up again I'd have a nice supply:lmao:

Anyways... I'm slightly frustrated. Delta just started a new policy for checked baggage that will apply to our flight in January. We have to pay $15 for the FIRST checked bag. I realize that many airlines switched over to that a while ago, but it's still frustrating. If I thought I could go on my trip with only a carry-on, I would, but I haven't reached that level of packing lightly yet.

Other than that I'm so excited for Thanksgiving! I have a test today, but them I'm free for almost a week. Well... except for the fact I have to write a research paper, and work on another one, but it will be a nice change!

Did you already buy your airfare? If you purchased the fare prior to November 5th (I think) Delta will honor the policy of free first bag for your flight. Purchases after the announcement date will incur the fee.

Just thought you might want to know as I thought we were also going to be charged the fee, but because we bought our tickets prior to the announcement we won't have to pay. It doesn't sound like much until you start to consider $15x 4 (bags) x 2 (roundtrip) = $120!! Bleargh!

Nevermind! I'm an exception, because I bought my ticket before November 6th... in June actually.

My overactive planning paid off....

I tried to get my younger brother to let me use his leftover school printing credit to let me print out Disney stuff... He didn't go for that idea.:confused3
