:rotfl: I must admit during lunch time I become a board scanner!! I try to find interesting posts and I went over to the Resort board and they are discussing the quality of TP (toilet paper) at the resorts. Is it better at a deluxe than a value!! So this brings me to a very odd question for you snowbirds...DO YOU BRING YOUR OWN TOILET PAPER WITH YOU TO DISNEY??? I hadn't really thought about it until now...LOL!!! Might have to add another thing to my packing list LOL :rotfl:

This might be the most odd post I've ever read LOL

They started in Martinique, then did Barbados, so they are both entirely done. Right now they are working on Aruba. I haven't heard that they are done with those buildings yet. I would assume they will be done soon and then move onto Jamaica, since it's next after Aruba. . . I'm hoping that doesn't mean they will be working on Jamaica in January, because that's where I want to stay. But I would be happy with Aruba too. Anyway, then all that would be left would be Trinidad South and Trinidad North. Trinidad South is to be converted to the Pirate rooms and they have started taking bookings for those rooms for arrival dates of January 24 and after. But there's been no word that they've even started those rooms yet. . . I will definitely try to get us all some more up to date info on the rehab as we get closer!

Have you looked at all the beautiful pictures on the CBR pics thread? :goodvibes
I'm slowly drooling...oops I mean browsing...through them. We requested Barbados so I was hoping these were renovated! :yay:

A few :rolleyes1 ..me thinks you are being too kind to me...its a really good thing you're not keeping a running total...or are you???? :rotfl:
Of course she is . . . on that roll of deluxe toilet paper she keeps to use at the values! :lmao:

Phew! Finally all caught up! Wow, there sure has been a lot to talk about!

I too have a wonderful DH who does anything I ask him to and quite often even when I don't ask him! He is a wonderful husband and father and I feel extremely blessed to have him in my life! :)

Hope everybody is having a super duper excellent wonderful day! We actually had a bit of sunshine here this morning! That was so nice! I missed seeing the sun! :cool1:

I too am hoping for an extension the Pirate and Princess Parties! My girls would love it! (I would too, of course) princess: I just know my Dh would love dressing up as a pirate!

Be back later! DH is going out with "the boys" tonite so the girls and I are having our own version of a pajama party tonite! No sleepovers though! My girls don't sleep well in each others beds! Too small - they have twin size! And NOBODY get's to sleep in Mama's bed! :lmao:

Have a great afternoon Birdies! :)

Well good afternoon all! I was in a continuing education class this morning. Yuck! So now I'm mostly caught up!

Sounds like a plan! :thumbsup2 All you CBR Snowbirds let me know what days you will be hanging out at the resort! :goodvibes
I'll be at the pool on the sunniest warmest day! :) LOL!

Thanks for asking Shawna. Well he ended up not needing glasses, so that was good. But, he has Amblyopia. His left eye is fine. His right eye has 20/40 vision, has very little depth perception, and is slightly turned inward. Therefore he has basically been "turning off" his right eye to avoid double vision and only using his left eye. This is nothing glasses could correct. The only option is to try to force him to use the right eye (the bad one) by covering up or blurring the good eye. The doctor says that this will usually correct the problem over time. So our choices were to either wear an eye patch over his good eye 2 hours everyday or to have drops put in his good eye on Saturday and Sunday to make it blurry. He wanted the drops. :confused3 I figured he'd want to be a pirate every evening for 2 hours pirate: , but he thought that was way too long I guess. I'm not sure I'm happy with either option, but I guess we will give the drops a try and we go back to the specialist in 5 weeks.

Back, oh about 40 (yikes) years ago, I was born with a crossed left eye. Really crossed! Apparently what they did then, was wait until I was two and do corrective surgery. I also wore a patch to strengthen the eye. It worked to some extent, the vision in that eye is pretty good, but it still moves in when I am tired. Eventually, around age 9 I became nearsighted, and now wear contacts. I am able to do everything, read, drive etc. Although my depth perception is skewed, I think things are closer than they are. It's better than the other way, so I don't hit things!:) LOL The only time it really matters is using binoculars, or the vision test machine at the DMV. I just explain I have a lazy eye, read with my good eye, and they pass me! :) I'm sure nowadays, treatments have changed and improved, so I hope for the best for your little guy!!

He's the most wonderful man in the world!!
Sorry for being mushy - my anniversary is next week and I was just remembering how much I love him, I guess even more today. We'll be married 21 years on the 21st:bride: :groom: , and together 24 years this January :cloud9: .
AWWW! That's so sweet! I try to remember how great my DH is too, and let him know. It's so easy to take things for granted, I have to be thankful.

I have - that got me so excited to be staying there!! Do you know when I should request a certain building? I am considering Jamaica or Aruba, since I didn't pay for preferred.
You Laugh!! But that was seriously my biggest concern...what if someone takes my ADR at 1900 PF...that had me greatly worried LOL (I'm a loon..I embrace it)

And what day and time was that ADR again? ;)

Well, my parents stopped by and interrupted my typing this post, so I'll probably have more to respond to now!! Gotta throw in a load of :laundy:

:rotfl: No worries I will not be packing TP!!! I was just really amused with the thread LOL!!!!:rotfl:

My Prince Charming is actually a part-time Stay at Home Dad. I used to work for myself from home, but then when I went back to work full time, DH stayed at home (I'm the one with the professional job.) Once we found out we had a special needs child, then the concept of day care or before and after school care went out the window - at least in those days. It would be fine today. Anyway, he gets the kids off to school in the morning, then again in the afternoon. He does laundry, dishes and starts dinner (if I give him specific instructions ;) ). He's the most wonderful man in the world!!

AAAWWW Congrats!! Don't you love being in love with your hubby? I am so happy when I read of girls who get to marry their prince charming.I know I sure did!! I know it even more now than I did 15 years ago. My dear hubby fell in love with me under the lights of my mamma's Christmas tree!!! December is when we started dating--so it's officially 15 years of togetherness!!!!! He's such a romantic!!!! Moreso than me actually!!! AAhhhh, the Lord is good!! I didn't know what a blessing he was when I got him!! :lovestruc I thought he was great-but it's amazing how through the years I keep finding things to love about him:hug: He's truly my veeerrrry best friend.

:[/QUOTE]My birthday is December 14, which was really bad. Chanukah is a different week every year, and most years my birthday is either just before, just after or during Chanukah. My parents were always careful, but the rest of the family kept doing the "this is a bigger present for Chanukah and your birthday" (and of course it never was bigger!). Then in college & grad school, all my friends were either studying for midterms/finals or had already left for home, so I never got to celebrate my birthday. Now, DH is a musician, so every year, usually on my birthday, he's playing a Christmas concert or Messiah, so I still don't get to celebrate my birthday on my birthday.

I used to be so jealous of my brother, born in July. By the time he got tired of his Chanukah presents, he got his birthday presents! It's tough being a December baby! OK, I'm over it, too. :laughing

:lmao: Just like me. Too funny, mine is Dec. 19th. We go to dinner and then
decorate the tree. I am big on birthdays for my kids. I have always tried to make them special.

I know a lot of you were following my friend's (Jobird) TR. . . Well someone made a really weird post to it and really creeped her out. . . I saw it. :sad2: The moderators ended up removing the post, but Jo is really creeped out and removed all her pictures and doesn't know if she should continue or not. . .

It was probably just a harmless weirdo, but still. . . Kind of makes you think. . . :scared:
Ok, I am a bit scared. Why do some people do such things. Could you PM me, I think I am thinking about removing pics now from my PTR.

Okay, so here's what I have for possible Snowbird Meets so far. . .

Jan 18th - 12:00-midnight at the Haunted Mansion

Jan 22nd - 3:00 for the DHS parade - no location yet

Jan 25th - DTD - no time or location yet

??? - A CBR Meet sometime towards the end of the month. . .

Anyone else??? Does anyone have anything going on for the beginning of the month???

Anyone up for a early Jan. meet?

Well...hubby and I were seriously considering cancelling our trip in January:scared1: I know.... Well we have a lot coming up next year including an anniversary trip to Hawaii, a wedding in Texas..bla bla bla

So my husband was trying to cut the disney budget. So we decided to forgo the train cost of 960$...and DRIVE:confused: I am a little reluctant about this to say the least.

Here is the plan....
Leave on Jan 3rd 7am and drive 11 hours-ish to Hilton Head an stay at the disney property there on points (no money spent)
Leave early the next morning and drive the rest of the 5-ish hours to disney.
Enjoy our 5 days at AKV 1BR
Drive to Hilton Head and spend 2 nights.(also with our DVC points)
Drive home on the 10th.

His mom is giving us $500 for christmas so there are our park tickets paid for.
Website says cost to drive is 110 each way including tolls.
We will have a full kitchen so we can have breakfast and maybe 2 dinners in.

Would you guys do this??? or would you rather just cancel? Advice please.

btw I have been avoiding this site all together lately bc of our indecision....so hello to all and hope everyone is doing well.:goodvibes

Well we are glad that you are back!! You have to make whatever decision is best for your family but if you think you can work in the trip then I think you should go!!

BTW what website helps you estimate how much its going to cost you to travel to Disney??? I'm driving and I would love to see that website!

I just googled "fuel calculator". You put in where you are going from/to and the make/year of your car and it estimates it based on current gas prices and the fuel economy of your car. Mine said 169$ r/t and I just guessed it would be about 50$ r/t for tolls. It will probably be less than that.
