I know a lot of you were following my friend's (Jobird) TR. . . Well someone made a really weird post to it and really creeped her out. . . I saw it. :sad2: The moderators ended up removing the post, but Jo is really creeped out and removed all her pictures and doesn't know if she should continue or not. . .

It was probably just a harmless weirdo, but still. . . Kind of makes you think. . . :scared:

Has anyone had the Beignets? I have read elsewhere they are a must have. We wish to go look at this resort on one of our off days, and wondered if we should stop and pick up some of these.

Thank you,
Remmy

They are so yummy..... definately something you will want to try.... they can be a little messy though....

Sounds like a plan! :thumbsup2 All you CBR Snowbirds let me know what days you will be hanging out at the resort! :goodvibes

Thanks for asking Shawna. Well he ended up not needing glasses, so that was good. But, he has Amblyopia. His left eye is fine. His right eye has 20/40 vision, has very little depth perception, and is slightly turned inward. Therefore he has basically been "turning off" his right eye to avoid double vision and only using his left eye. This is nothing glasses could correct. The only option is to try to force him to use the right eye (the bad one) by covering up or blurring the good eye. The doctor says that this will usually correct the problem over time. So our choices were to either wear an eye patch over his good eye 2 hours everyday or to have drops put in his good eye on Saturday and Sunday to make it blurry. He wanted the drops. :confused3 I figured he'd want to be a pirate every evening for 2 hours pirate: , but he thought that was way too long I guess. I'm not sure I'm happy with either option, but I guess we will give the drops a try and we go back to the specialist in 5 weeks.

Wow... so much for a little guy.... hope the drops work... he is very brave!!!

Hi Snowbirds, been away again for a day or two.

Did any of you notice the Visa Code is out now? If it's been covered already, sorry! It's similar to the stay 4 get 3 but it also reads "This offer includes hotel and Theme Park admission, and you can choose when you want to travel, whether during the peak season or over the summer." I called a CM and she said yes the Visa Code is good 1/4-6/27/2008. NO blackout dates!:thumbsup2 You might want to double check to be safe but if this is correct it will good for any of you traveling over MLK weekend or the 9-19th.

He was very brave. . . He had to have his eyes dilated. . . The doctor said it would burn a little but DS said it didn't. Good thing it is him and not DS9, he would freak out if anyone tried to put anything in his eyes!

Hey Disney Friends!

My name is Kelley and we're going to Disney in Jan 09!! We're getting very excited. It's actually a "last minute" trip planned and I'm starting to panic!

We are staying in a timeshare in Lake Buena Vista, so we won't actually be on Disney this time. This is my son's first trip though and he's very excited. (He'll be 3 in December).

I still have SO much planning to do so any advice would be great!! Please give me any advice or direct me to some great resources! Couple questions though:

I keep hearing about discount codes for theme park tickets? We haven't purchased our tickets yet and I wondering if we could find some discounts.

How many meals to you make reservations for? I'm trying to decide if I should make reservations for more than one meal a day or leave some plans open.

I feel like I'm so far behind, but looking forward to meeting each of you and getting lots of ideas!!

Hi GavinsMom and Hi to Gavin too!

Welcome to the Snowbirds. We talk about EVERYTHING here, so you're sure to get anything you need from all of us chatties!

We have made reservations for the character meals only. I don't think we want to be tied down to any other sit-down meals. I would recommend that with a little one, since you may want to be more free to do as you please. Having dinner reservations could be VERY stressful. There are plenty of counter service places that you could walk up to, plus the fact that you'll be in a timeshare, you can have the flexibility to cook in the room.

Don't forget to check out the main DIS section wdwinfo.com - that has tons of information on the parks and dining. Plus allears.net is another site that has a great wealth of info and photos, too.

Please keep us informed Shelly!! I hope it works out and the problem will correct itself in time. I will be keeping a speedy recovery in my prayers for your son!

Thanks for all the info Snyky! ;)

So when does everyone think we will need Part IV ??? :rotfl:

Probably sometime next week I suppose. . .

Me be thinking it will be next week also LOL!!! We are such chatters LOL!!!

I so get this.... my birthday is December 26th..... the only one that thas done that to me is my husband... so I got him back the next year... I bought myself a beautiful braclet and wrapped itand put it under the tree and signed it from him.... then I acted all surprised when I opened it up.... thought that was a pretty good pay back...:lmao:

My best friend's birthday is December 24th and I was the only friend growing up who would give her two gifts!! I felt bad because her family would lump her birthday and Christmas together so I felt it was my duty as best friend to make sure she got spoiled LOL!!! To this day I still send her two gifts LOL!!

I've not been around very much this week so I'm sorry if I've missed anything important. I just needed to take a break and not LIVE off of the Dis.

Sarah and Kayte- Good luck with the surgeries!

Remmy- The beignets are good. Great beignets are in New Orleans at Cafe Du Monde. Once you have had those, anything pales in comparison. My mom makes great ones, too. I think you will enjoy them.

Glo- I'm so sorry you are going through this. My dad did this to our family when I was in the 6th grade. Well, he actually just decided he would rather play tennis and golf than work. My mom is a teacher and it was very hard, we lost almost everything. The good news is, he finally got his head on straight (after nearly losing everything and us) and now he is a wonderful provider. I am praying for you!

Shelly- What a brave little guy!:thumbsup2

This weekend I am heading over to Dallas with three of my girlfriends to celebrate a 30th birthday. G has given me the green light to shop a little bit. WOOHOO!!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Aww - poor guy, having to make a decision like that! There is a wonderful series of Peanuts comics where Sally (Charlie Brown's little sister) had to wear an eye patch for amblyoplia. It became really hysterical because Snoopy kept stealing the patch so he could play pirate with Woodstock!

I'm taking DD for an appt. in 2 weeks. She failed her eye test in school too. Since DH, DS and I all wear glasses, I'm assuming she's next!

I hadn't heard about the Visa code...I might want to check into this and see if they have any dates for me to upgrade LOL!! Quick question though...will I have to use the VISA when making the reservation???

Hi Shelly. Way back I had suggested a meet over the bridge at Liberty Square at Sleepy Hollow for a 3:00 parade viewing. It may have been in Part 1 - plenty of people were interested at the time. I figured we'd decide on a day when it got closer and people had their schedules worked out. We are also planning to meet by the pool at All Star Music some evening. Debbieandroo and I talked about it a bit.
