January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part III !!!

I was thinking of looking for something in the Boardwalk/Yacht/Beach Club area for our arrival night. . . .

We're going back and forth between that and DTD. Since we don't have a lot of time on this trip (unless we change it!) I'd like to go to DTD and shop too. But I love the Boardwalk - when will I get there? Does anyone know whether you can get the 4/3 deal at Boardwalk?
Once we started considering where we would move to if we could get the deal to work for us, we discovered that we would like to try about 5 different resorts!! Lots more trips in my future I guess!

Alright guys what are the odds that I could get Cinderella's Royal Table at this point for either a breakfast or dinner LOL!!!! I'm thinking of trying to get an early ADR near MK for my MK morning...maybe I should look into Chef Mickey's and then ride the Monorail over!!!

The travel channel show is Walt Disney World Resort: Behind the Scenes. I'm recording it. I don't think I've seen it. This will be fun to show the family to get them in the mood!!

Hi, Peeps! I was in Nazareth today and our church had a baptism in the Jordan River, so this is my first chance to be online.

Well, it's a disappointing day in my Disney planning. My TA told me that the only value or moderate still available for this big deal that came out yesterday is All Star Sports. I hate sports. Always have, pretty much. The deal will save us $358, give us 2 extra days of park tickets, and give us $400 worth of gift cards, so we have to take it. And it seems like this might be the only deal coming out. It isn't near what I was expecting or hoping for.

And I feel so sad about not being able to stay at Pop Century. I had never even looked at All Star Sports. I just took a few minutes and it looks fine. My boys will enjoy it. Even Maggie, my 7 1/2 year old, will probably like it just fine. It's first on and off the buses, which is positive. But other than that, I'm having a hard time mustering up any real excitment.:sad2:

So, I'm waiting to tell Scot that we have to move to AS Sports. I'm sure he won't care. We don't plan to be in the hotel except in teh evenings for sleeping. One day we'll spend the morning at the pools. That's it. So.

Bummed. After all the hype yesterday, I was really expecting something spectacular. It's a pretty decent savings, though free dining would have saved us way more.

Now, if I move our reservation to All Star Sports and then I get a pin via email, can I use the pin in conjunction with the deal or is it one or the other? 'Cause I'd be really bummed if I took the move and then got a pin that would actually save me even more money. :confused3

Feeling bummed out for the first time in planning my trip. Off to catch up on the thread and see how you all are doing!

Carrie, on an early trip staying on site at Disney, I wanted to stay at All Star Movies, since I'm a real movie buff. Didn't get it - we had to stay at Sports. I was really disappointed; I also hate sports. You know what? It's just sports decorations around - large icons, uniforms, etc. And the pools have sports shapes - one's surfing, so that's just fine. But swimming in a wave-shaped pool is really no different than swimming in a bowling-pin shaped pool (isn't that a sport???) or a computer shaped pool at POP.

There really isn't any sports programming or anything like that. Nor is there heavy "theming" in the rooms. I think once you get used to the decor, you'll have a great time! After all, as you say, you won't be there much, and you'll be at Disney with your family!

And the savings are nice!

The other thing is - keep checking the Disney site itself. Last night, Coronado wasn't available for my dates, but this morning it was! You may have to book it yourself directly with Disney, but you may find what you want.

Good luck! :wizard:

Hmm. . . I just checked and both Beaches & Cream and Big River are listed at TS meals on the DDP. . . I wonder why they wouldn't take ADR's. . .

Beaches and Cream is yummy... sometimes the wait can be long because they don't take reservations.... but there is an arcade attached to it.. so that keeps the kids busy..

Here are a couple of photos from breakfast in the Castle.... you meet Cinderella downstairs and then all the princess and Fairy Godmother upstairs... this is one of our fav places to eat....
