January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part III !!!

I will be taking a mini vacation in January with my 4 year old son, just the 2 of us, wife and other 3 kids staying home. We had a few extra points to use up before they were gone so we will be staying at OKW from January 12-16.

Hey, that's great! We saw a Disney On Ice show two years ago, it was very nice.

My MIL is bidding on a set of Disney On Ice tickets at work. We should know by tomorrow if we are going. 4 tickets in the catered suites! We love when she gets us tickets for things! LOL

As for Survivor . . . I haven't watched in a long time. I think tomorrow will be the day I start watching again!

Morning Everyone,

Hope everyone didn't stay up too late last night. I went to bed about 1 am. I thought both men gave very good speeches...I thought it was an interesting election because of the historic significance (I had a social studies/history major in college)...can't wait to see how everything ends up now that it's over.

We are not Survivor fans here...never got into it. I think that they are all crazy to do and eat the things that they do...I couldn't go live in the jungle...I don't even camp.

Ohhh! If you haven't checked out the Codes and Rates section for Jan Code Watchers you are missing out on some BIG info! It seems a CM spilled the beans about a BIG DISCOUNT coming out. The CM said that they are doing training today for the deal and that it should be up in less than 72 hrs. AND that it was going to be better than the post 9/11 discounts. Those discounts were buy a 4 day package get upgraded to a 7 day package FREE! What could be better than that? Do I smell free dining???

You know I think I might just have to tune in tomorrow...I have never actually watched an eppy of Survivor but since all of you snowbirds are raving about it I'll have to tune in and see what all the fuss is about!!

I just got off the phone with CRO, nicest CM ever. Anywho, I was asking about our family getting one AP and with discounts that were out with it. And the CM says: Are you looking for a discount?
me: yes
CM: there is about to be something really big
me: oh really
CM: yeah, I'm going to a meeting in 45 min to find out all the details, it could be out in a few days or maybe evn 72 hours.
me: oh my yeah I think I'll wait about the AP
CM: do you remember the little recession before 9-11?
me: oh yeah (I said but I really don't remember)
CM: well, it's gonna be like that, I've worked for Disney 10 years and I have never seen anything like this

Giraffes are my favorite animal right now, so yes, I guess so! I am feeling particularly chipper today because my DD's teacher is getting fired! This is something I've been wanting (and working for) since last fall. I sound mean, but it's really been awful. I apologize to any teachers out there, but you wouldn't believe the things that have gone on.

Trixie~ or anyone else~ Where do you get your avatars? I want to change mine periodically and I can't find a site with anything different!!

I got mine from the DISigns board. I PMed the person who created them and asked her permission to use her designs. Everyone is very nice over there!

No problem...can't wait to see what the code will be. We did a land/sea package in May 2001 and my Mom can't remember what we paid.

Does anyone remember the pre-9/11 discount the CM is talking about.

OOOH I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's really good! Bottom line is we are going anyway deal or no deal.....any discounts are just icing on the cake! (and more spending $$$ )

Okay I'm going to ask my snowbirds first....I got off the phone with a CM recently who tried to sell me the Passholder Dining package and she almost had me sold...I would be saving money but I'm a bit concerned. Do you find that your value of service is diminished when they find out you are on the Dining plan vs paying OOP??? I remember reading things along those lines, but I wanted to check with you guys first????

Would getting a package for me at $38/day (and yes I'm doing a table service every meal) be worth it for me???

I'm sorry for always asking questions...I just value your guys' opinions!

PS I'm never going to get my cleaning done at this rate

My BIL's wife gave birth to their first child, a daughter, at 12:40am this morning. Nice and healthy sounding, from the reports from the DH, and a good size.

I'm so excited! I can't wait to meet here at Thanksgiving!


P.S. I never did make it out for hot cocoa. Hmmm.
