I made a facebook group! It's called Snowbirds!! I made it a closed group so only the cool kids (us Snowbirds) can join it. If you're interested in it, send me a PM so I can first add you as a friend and then invite you to the group! I am by NO means trying to pull anyone away from the Dis. How could I ever do that? It's just another place to hang out and share pictures, etc. I would never even THINK about leaving this thread EVER! We're going to be around forever, right??

Can I please ask for prayers/thoughts/anything you prefer for a dear friend of mine, Kathryn? She is almost 25 weeks pregnant with twins. She is in the hospital on bedrest (has been for a month) and her water broke on Saturday. They are doing everything they can, but the reality is this is going to be tough. If you could just send some good thoughts her way, I'd appreciate it...

Hope everything turns out okay...she's in my thoughts.

Welcome aboard!! I always get a kick out of seeing a fellow Minnesotan DISer. Just ask any of the snowbirds - I'm the MN Chamber of Commerce. I'm from Oakdale, outside of St. Paul. I'm sure there will be someone who would ride with you!! I'm not there until the end of the month, so it can't be me. Sorry. I'm sure you and your fiance will have a great time - it's fun bringing a first-timer. I did with my parents (they were the first-timers!).

Thanks snowbirds for the turkeys! Now let's hope that I don't run inot any of his friends on my way from work tonight. NO JOKE!! We have flock of wild turkeys that terrorize one of the back roads I take home. A momma, daddy & at last count 8 babies. They like to play "chicken" with the cars.

I agree with you entirely. Plus, Facebook doesn't have bad midi files or impossible to read pages!

Voted when we got home. Took longer to walk there than it did to vote - no lines, no waiting! Of course, the local news had reported that the County Clerk's office said 55% of the registered voters had voted by 1:30. Wow! What a turn-out!!

Someone else said the wait was over an hour first thing this morning. Now we get to just sit and wait. And plan for Disney!

Every time I try to get on MySpace my computer freezes up... Facebook is less cluttered... well it was... until they changed it and added all those crazy applications, but it's still not as bad

Just for fun I checked on flights from Orlando to home (if you remember, I'm only flying down with DD7 and planning to drive back with DH and DD5). They are down to $90!!! Now I have to decide if I should spend that money on plane tickets or stuff in WDW!! If I had the code for free dining or something fabulous, it would be a no-brainer! DH and I will have to chat tonight!! Before the price goes back up.

I heard today from the other PTO mom's that DS7's field trip will be to Disney On Ice!!! I am so excited!!! Not sure when yet, but I had better get asked to go!! I go every year to places that I could care less about - the zoo, the circus, etc. Now I better get to go to Disney On Ice!!

Oooh ooh pick me... if you're going to be in MGM on the 12th and AK on the 13th, but then I'm gone. I have a feeling my soon-to-be DH will probably opt out of riding ToT and Rockin' Rollercoaster after the first time. (especially ToT... he has a thing with heights) We'll see though... I'm really not sure how I feel about leaving him on our Honeymoon, but I might be able to ride a couple with you.
If your fiance likes hunting, fishing, and the Army, then maybe they wouldn't mind hanging out together while we ride all the cool rides.

I don't even really feel up to working on my Disney paper *gasps*

My Bureaucracy teacher actually discussed the Disney company today. That was one discussion I was riveted for. He showed a clip from Beauty & the Beast!

Go to facebook.com and on the home page there is an area to "Join". All you need is an email address. You can give as much or as little info as you want. No one can see your profile unless they are friends with you, or in your "network" - meaning the area you are from, however you can choose to block that too.

Let me know if you have more questions.

First, to Distherapy, I have said a prayer for Kathryn and her little ones. I do hope everything turns out well for them.

Second, thank you all Snowbirds that went out and voted. I truly believe you cannot complain if you did not vote. Unfortunately for me, my local candidate is never who I voted for but at least I go and vote.

I too am glad we are all being friendly and caring for each other's feelings. I am interested in joining Facebook but I am a very private person, so please don't feel offended. I do wish to be friends with you, I am just really, really shy. I think it is an excellent idea.

It has been a beautiful day out today but tonight is truly dark. I think I will try to convince my family to go out for a drive. I would like to enjoy the snow free weather as much as possible.

Hey everybody!! I have been outside with the kids-it's been pitch dark for quite a while now. I for one, love the time change!! This is the only time of year I can get up 'early'. I jumped right out of bed at 6:30 this morning!! I usually am dragging out around 7:30--I have always been a night owl!! So, this works great for me!!!

Well, hopefully we'll get code by Friday maybe, pretty please !! I didn't read the other threads about them waiting till the election was over--so I figured maybe they would wait til the end of the week. Oh well, I am going one way or the other!! This will be the icing on the cake!!!!

Man, college was never like this for me! What's your major? Where do you go to school?

I'm just sitting here watching all the yucky exit polls and projections. It drives me nuts when they do that. Back when I was in college I did a paper about polls and how the predictions on t.v. influence west coast voters. I advocated that it shouldn't be allowed until ALL the polls close. As you can see, no one listened! Oh well. Okay, I'm done going OT. I voted, that's all I can do.
