Well, I've had a pretty good day. We all went out to breakfast this morning and it was so yummy. Then, my DH had to study for his huge accounting exam tonight, so me and our DD played some Bingo and Littlest Pet Shop Guess Who. She beat me pretty bad! We mostly just hung out and relaxed. We ran to Target and Walmart for a bit once my DH went to grad school. I'm trying to find the best deal on a Christmas tree. This is our first Christmas in our house and we always just had a little 3ft tree in our apt. We now need a bigger one!

We then went over to my parents house and had dinner with my mom. My dad had a school board meeting and my DH wasn't home, so it was very nice. It's good to be back home on this very cold day though. I'll probably make myself some hot chocolate in a bit even though I had a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks!

YAY for 6000 posts

I hope to break 1000 posts in 3 months...I think I can do it!! I only need 100 more....man that means I talk a lot..oh well that has already been established!!!

I wish I could meet up with you guys and do some of the cool rides!! That is the one thing that is a bummer...I don't mind eating alone...but riding the rides alone, I don't know..we'll just have to wait and see how it goes!!!

At least I'll have my midnight ride with glo LOL and any other Snowbirds who would like to stay up late on EMH MK night and meet us at Haunted Mansion on the 18th of January!!!

I don't mind riding rides along (DH isn't into the "thrill" rides), so I'm used to doing that. I don't like to eat in a restaurant alone....I feel like everyone is watching me, which I know simply isn't true, but still...

Meghan, have you looked at Lowe's for a tree? Or do you have that up there? I got mine there last year- it's pre-lit and it has some tiny pine cones/red berries on it. Quite lovely I must say!! In fact, I will probably drag it and all my ornaments and lights out of the attic tonight or Th. night--the kids are sooooo ready to put up the lights & decorate. But, it's raining and is gonna continue all week, so the lights outside will have to wait. But, we love Christmas--it's our favorite thing--so we always start before T-day!! I do plan to take it down before vacation!! Ha!!!

Though DD is a Taurus the bull! So darn bull headed. I don’t know if you believe in the zodiac signs, but there is a certain way they say that each child under a sign should be parented. My friend who was really into it gave me a book to read one time. All I have to say is, I was amazed by it and could not put it down.



Yes, I should have put in a request. You just assume that if you book before anyone else and pay extra they are going to give you the best room available.
Since we drove to Fla. we had a nice parking spot! Though we did not drive the car when we were there. Live and learn. You will enjoy it.

My Mom was on an astrology kick for a while and it was actually kind of funny how much our "signs" described us. I'm a Scorpio with an evil streak. My older sister and mom are both indecisive Geminis... I can't think of the connection between the others, but it's really kind of funny.

As far as room location goes, I've heard they have an "rooms ready" policy, which means they'll give you whichever room is ready at the time. I know they do block off rooms the day before or something though, so I'm not sure how often they put you in whichever room in your category is available at the moment. They might wait until the room you're assigned comes open... I know some people recommend getting there before check-in time, because then they'll give you the best room possible whenever it opens, but I don't know how true that is...
I know it also has something to do with the fact that not all rooms turn over every day. Therefore, it's possible that the day you checked the people who were checking out were in the most inconvenient rooms.

We do have Lowe's. I practically lived there after we bought our house this summer! I will have to go check over there. My mom also told me to check Joann Fabrics (is that a nationwide chain??). I did see some good prices for prelit trees at Walmart though. I will keep looking. We always put the tree up the Sat after Thanksgiving. However, with Thanksgiving being sooo late in Nov, I might have to put it up a weekend early!

Hobby Lobby had their trees at 30% off for while, but they might have ended the promotion now. I was tempted to buy one, but I figure I can go out after Christmas and get one for Logan and I next year.

Shawna you figured out how to change your pic...YAY!!!! We always get a real tree...so I will have to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to go get ours LOL

Meghan, we do have Joannes as well---Hobby Lobby is where I got the tree before this one-every week they rotate their sales-so I got a good deal!!! I am really excited about getting it all done---makes my trip seem closer!! Besides, I am just a Christmas lover!!!!

I too LOVE Christmas. A local radio station last year starting playing Christmas music on Nov 1st! I personally loved it, but most of WNY did not. I'm so excited to decorate our first house!
