I found a guy on Ebay selling the free Disney planning DVDs. I aksed him why he was selling something that you could get for free. He never answered me back...wonder why?

I'm very excited about our trip...Mom and I talk about it every morning when we walk. I share all the things I've learned from the DIS.

QOTD: Beauty and the Beast

That's hilarious! What an idiot!:rotfl2:

Don't you just love Disney Music. I was in an Off-Broadway show in the spring that was all Disney music, it was sooo much fun!
I have so much stuff on my ipod it's sick! It just makes me smile :goodvibes
I love listening to all the inpark backround audio while I'm working. It makes life more enjoyable!

Oh, that sounds wonderful! I put on my own little Disney Broadway show once a week in my car.:goodvibes

Oh I just thought of something I can share. Sorry, it's not juicy WDW codes or anything. The other day we were discussing Halloween costumes for our kids. The adults in our neighborhood also have a party, which is going to be on this Saturday. I usually can't come up with any good costume ideas and this year is no exception.
So I've joined forces with a few others and here's our plan: One of the DHs is bald and is going to be Howie Mandel. About 5 of us wives are going to dress alike and be the Deal or No Deal models! One of them even found these cheap card games that came in the metal looking briefcases, so she bought a bunch and we're going to number them and put $ amounts in each! I have to stop after work and pick up my matching top. The cool thing is the top is something we can all wear again. We are all going to be cruising this winter (not all together) and it's a nice top that we can wear to dinner on the ship. I'm so psyched! And I didn't have to think of any of it myself.

That is the cutest idea!!! Love it!

Wow, I can't believe I hadn't thought to put my Disney CDs on my iPod (I only got it in August though). What a great idea. I know what I'm doing later...

Snowbird friends.... if you don't want to know about how to be sneaky, tell a little white lie, and down right Disney obsessed then you should not read any further....

so here is the scenario.... as you may (or may not) remember from a previous post the evil airline Jet blue cancelled our direct flights from Syracuse. We now leave 1 hour earlier and arrive two hours later... not such a big deal... but that means getting up at 3:30 am to be at the airport at 4:30 for a 6am departure..... okay lets face it... I am a morning person but not that early... I told DH about awful Jet Blue and he says "well see what you can do".... so nice of him to leave the door open.....

so here is my thoughts... I called and left a message for our AAA travel agent ( not the brightest of agents - but very pleasant) I asked her to price out the cost of staying an extra night... ie.. going Saturday, Jan 24th instead of Jan 25th... it seems that Jetblue has a direct flight at 4 pm on Saturday that arrives a little after 7 pm.... you all see where I am going with this.... I realize that means one more night of dining... but not of tickets...

I casually mentioned this to DH.... he didn't think it was such a good idea to leave a day early.... but I didn't tell him the exact times of the crazy flight they booked us on..... so I am thinking if it isn't to much extra money.... like less than $300 I might see if I can get the extra night... calll Jet Blue and have flights switched to Saturday and then (here is where the little white lie comes in).... tell DH that the only flight I could get us switched to was the direct flight on Jet blue on Saturday......

Yes I know... I am bad... and I don't usually lie to DH.,... but I really (insert whining here) don't want to get up at 3:30 am because it will ruin all of SUnday.... instead we could get there Saturday night... rest and be ready to hit the ground running on Sunday...

so what do you think....

:thumbsup2  I say check out the $ difference and tell DH it was the best deal that you could work out (he did tell you to see what you could do) and say, hey, it helps all of us to have a better trip anyway! You could just omit the part about not wanting to get up in the middle of the night. (Heck, that's a given for me!) Best of luck!!

Take the Saturday flight!!! Like you said, you'll be all rested up for Sunday and won't waste away the day. Besides, I leave that Saturday too so that's awesome! Sorry that Jet Blue has been evil for you. So far so good for me! The only change they made was that we're now leaving 5 minutes earlier and arriving 5 minutes earlier. Doesn't bother me in the least.

Just to add a little more back ground... today I paid for the 2009 country club membership dues... mind you I very rarely use it... DH and DS golf many times a week and spend way to much in the club house... so I am being a little selfish... thinking whats $300 compared to what I paid for dues today.... yes selfish I know.....

Oaky... step one complete... we are now booked at CBR beginning on Jan 24th.... YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!

Here it is ~

School Excuse Sample Letter

DATE:

TO: [school official]

FROM:

RE: [students name and vacation dates]

Please be advised that [student] will be out of school during the week of [date]. We ask that his absences be excused.

The reason for [student]'s absence is that our family will be out of the state during this week. While we are gone, we will be visiting Walt Disney World. We believe that [student] will be learning many things during this trip and that his education will continue in his absence from school.

Some things [student] will learn about:

* Different cultures of the world, including architecture, language, diet, and dress, by visiting the different countries in the Epcot World Showcase (Japan, China, Germany, Mexico, Norway, Canada, France, etc.) [student] will have the chance to explore the exhibits for each country and speak with natives from each country who work as cast members.

* American history by viewing the Hall of Presidents presentation in the Magic Kingdom and the American Adventure show in Epcot.

* Nature and conservation at Animal Kingdom.

* Science by exploring the Mission:Space ride in Epcot where he will have a chance to see and feel what it would be like to travel by rocket to Mars and by experiencing the Universe of Energy exhibit which teaches about fossil fuels, energy, and conservation.

* Economics by managing his own spending money and making budget decisions on how to spend his money.

[student] will also be learning about map reading by navigating in and to the different theme parks, as well as the resorts and water parks via the Disney bus system, sociological aspects of crowds including patterns and behavior, physics of the different rides, breakthroughs in technology at the Innoventions computer lab in Epcot, art and animation and the history of film, and mathematics.

We believe this will be a wonderful and educational experience for [student] and hope you agree not to charge him with unexcused absences as a result. If it is possible for [student] to take any assignments with him to be turned in when we return or to turn in before we leave any work that will be due while he is gone, please let us know as soon as possible.

Thank you for your attention to this. If you have any questions or need any further information, please feel free to contact me.

[Parent's Signture]

Man if only my classroom could be in Disney...the things I could teach about science there LOL

Oh Yeah, does my DD have to actually go on Mission Space to get this educational experience? Cause she will NOT be going on that. Nor will I.

I think it's so wonderful that you are waiting until D comes home to plan. Can you adopt me? My mom doesn't love Disney that much?

By the way, I think Julie Andrews is my soul mate.:lovestruc

Sorry, nope she's mine!! Have you read her book"Home" --you gotta get it!!!

so what do you think....

Well, I wouldn't lie. That's just me-couldn't do it:sad2: But, I would tell him the $ diff and explain that if we did leave at 3 in the am, I would spend half of that day trying to catch up on sleep--& I personally would get a bad headache! So that means I would be outta commission til Monday-So Sunday would be a total waste. For us, it would be worth the little bit of extra $$ to go a day early. You don't want your 1st magical Disney day to be foggy!!!!

QOTD: Well, when I was little I had several of the records and my own little red record player--I've posted about it before----this was one of my favorite possessions. It's in my hope chest even now-lovingly remembered!! Anyway, I had several of the Disney records-Winne the Pooh, Cindy, Snow White, Mary Poppins. I have to say I still hear one song and my mind automatically rolls to the next song on the record! Ha!!!!So, those are classic faves--but I think I may have listened to the Mary Poppins one the most. I have to say my British accent is better than anyone I know--Thank you Mary and Burt!!!
Whom my little daughter lovingly calls Burp!!!

Dh actually told me that if we ever retire to Disney he thinks I should be Mary or Alice--great!! But, honey ,I think I will be waaaayyyy to old then!!! So, maybe I should just be one of them for Halloween!!!!

Hey Wendy I would go for it if that extra cash won't break the bank. I usually do the 6am flights, which means getting up at 3:30 and that day gets VERY long. Last year I was stupid and planned WS and then EMH till 1am. Because I'm only going for 6 days I did the am flight again, but I'm going by myself so there are no little kids to worry about crashing.

ANYONE ON JETBLUE: Be forwarned....My flight was changed today!!! They said due to new airport regulations they are going to be limited in the amount of flights that can go off per day in many cities. That meant my flight time got changed. I wasn't too happy since now I won't make my first ADR, but what can you do right?

Oh no! They better not do that to me! They moved us once (not that I'm complaining) by canceling our original departing flight. I really don't like getting messed with, especially when it comes to vacation!

If you are changing at JFK, I would keep an eye out. That's where I'm flying out from and the early flight was pushed back. When I spoke to the woman I asked her if it could happen again and she said "Maybe" :scared1:
I'm still getting there at 10am, but the later the flight, the more likely JFK will have major delays.

Okay we are all changed.... now leaving Saturday Jan 24th.... and I called DH at work and told him.... he was fine with it.... I probably wouldn't have been able to sleep tonight.... such a wimp I am..... leaving Syracuse at 4:30 arrving Orlando at 7:22 pm.... should be at the hotel by 9 pm

Ohhhhhhhhhh that means another ADR to make.... YEAH..... anyone ever been to the Cape May buffet??????????????
