Morning Snowbirds!

Did I hear the word party????
 :cool1:  :cool1:  :cool1:
Yay for everyone who's under the 2 month mark! Is it just me or is the rest of the year flying by!!!!

So I've been pitying everyone who's been complaining about the cold weather were they live. It's been a loverly fall here.....untill this morning when I left the house and was hit by a freezing wall of air. Seriously, who asked for winter? Oh well I guess that means it's almost Christmas!!!!! I can deal with the cold at first, because I love the Christmas season so much, it's after all the festivities die down and you have three long months of freezing cold starring you in the face I begin to loath the cold weather. At least I'll have my Disney Trip to look forward to!

I know, I don't really mind winter up until oh about right after Christmas. And unfortunately in recent years winter has been dragging on and on into the spring. We got the bulk of our snow last year in March.

Ugh, Snow. I love the idea of playing in the snow. Getting on a bus and dragging myself to school or work in the snow, not so much. Thankfully we've gotten less and less snow here. NYC used to be good for at least one blizzard a year. These days we only see 5 or 6 inches. Not much compared to what many other snowbirds get, but the city does not handle an inch or two well. Everything gets sloppy and messy and public transportation is a nightmare! I'm just grateful I don't have to wait for the bus in my Catholic school uniform skirt in the freezing temps anymore!

This working thing really is getting in the way of my DIS time!! :)
Just took a break from court and tried to catch up.
QOTD: Probably tied between Lion King and Beauty. I do love Jaq's version of "Cinderelly" too though.

My kids don't get on the bus til 8:25 (School starts at 8:45) and get home at 3:30. Of course they're usually up by 6:30.

I have not lost my excitement for the trip - This board is helping me stay excited.

Let's see - what else? All these menus make me want to do more ADRs, but I have decided that it will just encourage me to go back and do more.

Oh - I'm not under 3 months yet, but I'm always up for a party!!  :cheer2: :cheer2: :dance3: :dance3: :yay:
party:

UMMM - I know there's more I have missed but that's my update for now. Catch you all on the next break - maybe at lunch!

I'm also less excited than I was when I booked the trip - I think the election has something to do with it, and the economic fears that didn't exist two months ago.

I've also decided that since we've been there so many times that I'm not going to plan everything out - maybe not until D comes home for semester break and we can do it together! We've just got our room, our ADRs, our flights and know which park each day. I've got the spreadsheet of all that info, and which parks have EMH when, and that's about all I intend to plan!

QOTD: I love Beauty & the Beast's soundtrack, and they added some wonderful songs when it moved to Broadway. (I do hate the implication in it that it's weird to be a pretty girl who likes to read, but that's a whole nother story.) But my favorite does have to be Mary Poppins, because I love live musicals and adore Julie Andrews & Dick Van ****!

I think it's so wonderful that you are waiting until D comes home to plan. Can you adopt me? My mom doesn't love Disney that much?

By the way, I think Julie Andrews is my soul mate.:lovestruc

I just have to join in and say the only thing that excites me when I think about this vacation is the fact that I get to share it with my mom and best friend. I am not overly excited because I am thinking about leaving the kids for the week, also Dfiance, and the $$ guilt...ooohh the $$ guilt. We have it, its just that we could use it in so many other ways..especially with next Augusts trip to plan. And like others said--the economy--who knows what tomorrow brings. SCAREY!

Ok, breath---relax and DIS :)

Yeah, I've been having serious $$$ attacks. That and major panic attacks about going to the world solo. My plan was to move to London after graduatoin, but thanks to the economy and lack of jobs these days I just couldn't make that happen. I wanted to do something special to celebrate my graduation, even though my London dream was put on the back burner. That's why I booked. Ofcourse it means putting just about all my recreational money twords the trip, so no life for me between now and then, but I know when I get there it will all be worth it. Everynow and then I freak about the money I'm spending on this trip, but I remind myself that I deserve a vacation, and I'll find ways to make it work!

Yeah, the worst part about winter is its length. It's fine until the first week of January, then you're sick of it. When you can get snow from October to April, you need a WDW break in the middle. At least here the snow in late March and April doesn't stay around long. It does drive me nuts that all the Easter dresses don't have sleeves! My girls still want them, it's just covered up with a sweater.

Does anyone know if there's a reason why my ticker doesn't always show up at the bottom of my posts? I have the one with the cruise ship, and then the one that counts days underneath. It is on some of the time...I haven't changed anything? TIA.

Yes, quite often anymore we have more snow on Easter than on Christmas. :sad2:

My ticker seems to disappear several times throughout the day. We must be using the same site. I see that several peoples tickers come and go through the day. It's very annoying. I won't use that site again!

I've been scaling back on a lot of little things so I don't feel quite so bad about $$ too. Just remember - you are graduating and that's a huge accomplishment! It's worth it to celebrate. Look at the quote under your signature any time you need reassurance. And just make sure to enjoy the heck out of your trip!

Thanks! I totally love that Walt Disney Quote! He was such a wise man. There really are plenty of inspiring quotes out there from him! :goodvibes

Good Day to all my snowbird friends! I feel like I have been away for a lifetime! It hasn't even been 24 hrs! I don't think I have the time or the energy to go back and read 10 whole pages ??? My goodness we have have chatty this morning! :thumbsup2

Can somebody catch me up? Did I miss a QOTD? What was the menu of the day Shelly? I have a huge pile of :laundy: to get through and a sink full of dishes to wash so I seriously do not have time to go back and read all 10 pages!

I saw something this morning that made me feel very angry  I took my little DC girl to the store to pick up a few things and on our way out, as I was buckling her into her seat, I noticed that a small child had been left alone in the car parked a couple spaces over! :scared1: It appeared to be a girl and she was probably about 3-4 yrs old. She was sound asleep, covered with a blanket and the car windows were open a bit. I looked around to see if there was a parent in sight. I didn't see anyone. I didn't know what to do! She appeared to be fine but I felt so bad for her too! My little DC girl was starting to get very fussy and I had to leave otherwise I would have taken down the liscence # of the vehicle and gone inside the store. I prayed and asked God to protect the little girl and hoped furiously that whoever was responsible for her would return quickly! This has happened to both my DH and myself befor so we talked about it and said that we should contact the police staion and find out what the right thing is to do in that situation! Now I can't stop thinking about that little one and hoping she is alright!

Hi Snowbirds, I have been MIA! Sick, DS and DD games. life etc.
But wanted to say darn it has gotten cold early this year in Pa.
Anyone racking yet? We will be this weekend!:guilty:
Shout out to the PHILLIES!!!!!! Let's get those rays tonight.:cheer2:

Pinkdiamond - It is an actual WDW calendar. I got one for 2006 when I went to WDW in Oct. 2005. They sell them in the shops. The last 2 years I have gone in May and they aren't out for the next year yet. . . So I buy them on Ebay. People that live near the parks go and buy a bunch of them and then jack the price and sell them on Ebay. I think I paid $16 plus $4 for shipping. They are $12 at WDW.
