I just read about watching Illuminations from the water. Anyone interested in sharing a boat? It would have to be nights of 1/23-1/25. DH is not a huge disney fan, so I am trying to come up with some ways to make it more special.

I always liked 50's PT. However, I always got nervous if I didn't finish my food! So, we're staying away from there on this trip. My DD is very sensitive and I don't think she could handle it if they tried to feed her! The CM's that work there are very good at their jobs though.

We love the Prime Time Cafe...we eat there every trip. I heard the pot roast is excellent. My little sister can't wait to have the smores.

First - GOOD LUCK with your MRI!!!

Second - ugh - don't you hate when things cost more to repair than replace?! We had an Apple laptop for a lovely, brief moment last year until it was found sitting in a puddle of wine (ahem).:confused3 They wanted $500 more to replace it than it would cost to buy a new one.

Now I only drink at the desktop...:surfweb: (replace coffee cup with wineglass...):cutie:

Thanks!

Yeah, I washed a cell phone once. The problem was that was the replacement from one that was stolen (that doesn't look right). I now have insurance on my cell phone - which still works out to cheaper than buying a FOURTH. :confused3

Thinking of you, sarbah77, and hoping all goes well!

Happily, everything ran on time last night so my DH and I were home by 12:15am (and hey, look! At work on time, too!). It was moderately uncomfortable. First, they set up an IV so I could have contrast injected. Then they strapped me to the bed. At times I had to hold my breath, once with the tech saying "Whoops, that took longer than I thought." Thanks?! Then he injected the contrast dye, which was cold until it went in, then when the MRI fired up again, it was hot. Plus my arms both fell asleep. I was grateful when it was done and, at the same time, grateful that while I was uncomfortable, it wasn't painful or terrible.

Results next Monday and then... dum dum dum... surgeon makes her final decision!

+++

Like others, I'm also having kind of a hard time getting excited about Disney. I think it's because of everything I need to do first, you know? MRI is done, so next up is:
-meet with surgeon
-husband may have federal jury duty
-give talk to grad students
-survive another, er, cycle
-tell my parents I'm having surgery
-visit my parents (and hope my mom isn't mad, still!)
-have surgery (whatever that is... and I can't really plan even Thanksgiving until I know what's going on)
Regardless of surgery, I still have
-Christmas shopping
-big deadline at work (which, despite being 12/1, will linger until 1/9)
-Christmas!

But I think once I get past the surgery, it'll be all downhill from there!

Good morning Snowbirds...... I am here in my PJ's with a blanket and coffee...not feeling well today so I am going to try and work from home... plus the furnace guy is coming today to clean it....

I just wanted to share with you all, that I too got rejected to be on the Mom's Panel, but I did become a Mickey Mom's Club Member! Is anybody else one? I am able to print out the park maps (like the ones they hand at the gates) and other stuff. Pretty cool. So I guess I have a bunch (more) printing to do, I am going to need a new printer before we go on this trip :lmao:

I was invited last year to be in the Mickey Moms Club... they sent me a mouse pad and a frig magnet... I do check out the website often.... was invited again this year....

I wouldn't mind the extra sleep either! We switched schools 2 years ago and have to get up an entire hour earlier. The bus comes at 7:25! It stinks, but the school is great and they get done before 2:30.

That's awesome that they get out so early. My DD gets out at 3:05. I started picking her up from school because she didn't get off the bus until 3:30pm.

Well my DS missed the bus this morning... I swear the boy needs a swift kick in the back side some days..... so I had to drive him to school... the school is about 15 minutes away.... gotta love living in the country.... can you say unhappy mom this morning... oh well... it did give us a chance to talk...

It was 37 degrees here this morning with flurries.... our high is supposed to be 42 degrees..... brrrrrrrrr

Goodness! Everything sounds so good on the 50's PT menu. I'm not sure what to choose from. I've heard great things about the pot roast.

Oh... decisions, decisions.:lmao:

Good luck with surgery! I know it can take a toll on you, but at least you have great things to look forward too!:goodvibes

mental health day!!!!!!!!!!!!:worship:

I AM TAKING A MENTAL HEALTH DAY NOT REPEAT NOT GOING INTO THE SHOP NOR AM I DOING PAPERWORK!!! wow that felt good. almost as good as still being in my pj's.

I think we are just about all getting to the point where we are getting "so so" on our trips. Looking forward to them but not so hyped. But there is a lot of stuff to get thru before any of us go. Tons of holidays & bad weather. I think we will all perk up in a few weeks again.

Sarbah77 hope all goes well I think from what I have gathered on your posts that we are both going thru similar situations right now. I too see my doctor on mon. Hopefully not to schedule the surgery just a recheck on the cancer thing. yuck:guilty:

well of to do the great mountains of laundry and housework.

Good for you! I think we all need those once and a while.

QOTD:
I thought of this the other day while driving in my car listening to a Disney CD.

What is your favorite soundtrack to a Disney film? (Hope I said that correctly.):cutie:

How adorable! Not that he's sick, of course, but that he naps with a dino still! My sister just had twin boys, and I had wanted her to have at least one girl, but I'm so excited they're little boys. Growing up I only had her, and we have pretty much all female cousins, so it's exciting to be around two little men. The sleep with little cuddlies now, soft little blankets with a stuffed animal head on one end - I love it!

How sweet!! I wanted twins---but didn't get any! My oldest son tells us not to try for #4 because he KNOWS it'll be twins!! He's probably right, he told me about baby #2 before I knew and he knew I was having a girl before I did!! So.....I would loooove twins!!

QOTD Nightmare Before Christmas!! DH pretends to "re-enact" the Sally & Jack scene on the hillside. But Lady & Tramp is close 2nd. Also because of romantic sentimental value. Think meatballs at Italian restaurants & totally embarassed DD!!

How's your DS feeling today Shawna?

Well, I thought after that nearly 3 hour nap last night he wouldn't be able to sleep--well, he was out around 10-----and he's still asleep. But, last night he looked like he felt better. There is just nothing better than sleep when you are sick! Thanks for asking!!!

Off the top of my head I would say Lion King....

Good Morning!!!!!!!

Well, it's very pretty out here today--I hope it doesn't warm up too much-it was 84 yesterday. It was kinda cool this morning, so maybe it'll stay that way!! You all did talk a lot after I left last night!! We had our first Home Owners Assoc meeting for our neighborhood last night-to elect officials and all that. After which, we hit the pillow!!!! I can't remember what all I was going to quote on!! It was tooooo much to multi quote!! Airlines: we always fly Continental-We flew Southwest once, it was ok-nothing spectacular, but Cont. is always cheaper for us from Houston to Orlando......and that's who our reward points are with now, so that's what we do!!!

BellaS--Yes, I hate being on the phone and not understanding a word--and usually I have to ask for a manager, then they start talking faster and arguing, its not good.

Dancegrl-again-just wanted to say my older kid loves his DS-he doesn't play every day, but brings it when we go places, or if we are in a situation(like a Drs office) where they have to be quiet. I think she will love it.

Whoever posted the pictures of the shirts (crazyred?) I love the Mickey, Life is Good!!!!

Who was asking about a book for their book club? What did you pick?

Andrea-your menu sounded awesome!!!

Prime Time- we love it-the fried chicken is great! The desserts are awesome!!!

Okay, gotta get my munchkins stirring. If my little man feels better, I gotta go get him some new tennis shoes!! His feet just took off!!!

I'll check in later-if not, I'll never catch up!!! Have a good day, my friends!

I just changed our reservation from a 5 day to a 6 day park hopper. It changed my balance by $6.80. That doesn't sound right, but I'm not complaing.

Good morning, Snowbirds! :cool1: :cool1:

Ooh, good question!
First thing that pops into my head is "Step in Time" from Mary Poppins. I probably wouldn't say that Mary Poppins is my favorite soundtrack (I always thought "Feed the Birds" was too sad and kind of dragged), but I love that song, and the choreography with all the chimney sweeps dancing on the roof. :dance3: I'll have to think more about soundtracks.

Speaking of Disney music, though...last night the boys were in the bathroom getting ready for bed, and I could hear them singing "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah!" I think I'm training them to be Disney guys! :woohoo:

QOTD:

The Lion King, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, we can't pick just one!
