I'm here. Just watching the Red Sox/ Rays game.

What is it with all the Sport fans? My DH and I could honestly care less about any and all sports! I have been to a couple of NHL games and sure they were exciting, but after the first couple of periods ? I was bored out of my mind! For some reason though, I love watching footbal movies like Rembering the Titans, The Replacements, Any Given Sunday, Friday Night lights and Invincible! I can't say that I actually enjoy watching football but for some reason, I LOVE football movies!

I know girl!! Now,I do like to go watch a baseball game--the Astros in Houston--and would maybe like to go see the Cowboys----but watching it on tv does nothing for me!! If I can't be there-forget it!! Look how much Disney time that takes!!!!

I know some people are really into, but Not I!! I guess like we are soooo into Disney & other people roll their eyes and huff!!!

Hey-how cold is it up there now? Just curious--we are doing a geography unit with the little bookaddle-to-the-Sea, and it starts out in the area around Lake Nipigon, then Lake Superior and on to the Sea.So far it's still on the Lake--it's very interesting. Just curious about your weather so I can tell my kids!! Always looking for life-teachables!!

Just changed our resort and dates. We were going to be @ FW from 01/02-01/09, and now we will be at Pop from 01/10-01/17. Due to work schedules, and the economy, this is a better plan for us.........will any of you be at Pop from the 10th to the 17th?

Morning Everyone.

Sports thing....Yes I do love sports. I'm sort of the opposite of being a girl. I hate shopping, hate wearing make-up (but I do, however I can do my make-up in under 2 minutes). I don't wear heels unless I absolutely must, and then I complain the whole freakin time. I've never had a manicure/pedicure. Never had a massage or been to a spa. Heck I've never even had my eyebrows professionally waxed. (before you think I'm all wierd and have a unibrow, NO, I've just never done "professional" before)

I loved playing sports in highschool. In college I played on co-ed leagues. Even now I still play on co-ed league softball during the summer and volleyball during the fall.

I don't know. I guess I'm just strange.

Hope everyone is having a nice long weekend. We were busy yesterday and I didn't even get the computer turned on! We are having the best October weather!! Supposed to be 78 today! A great day for soccer!

As for the sports - we are NASCAR fans! We went to a race on our honeymoon! We tried to stay up last night to watch the Charlotte race, but we fell asleep. I don't even know what time it ended or who even won. Hopefully Jimmie Johnson! He's my favorite!

You live in Canada and don't like Hockey WOW!! That's a first (LOL just kidding, but when we visited Quebec this summer everyone was all about the hockey LOL!!!!!!)

We love Mama Melrose! The steaks and veggies were so good! I still crave the veggies I had from my meal in 2005!

One word of advice.....The pasta sauce on the kids meals was spicy. Now I'm from Texas and LOVE spicy food ! I LOVE jalapenos on just about everything, so for me to say that yes it had a bit of spice to it is saying something! My DD ordered spaghetti and complained that the sauce was spicy....(She does not have my love for food with heat ) But after I tried it I had to agree that for a child's meal it was too spicy. Now I don't know if it was just an off night in the kitchen....could have been? DD then changed her order to buttered pasta (and half of her brothers pizza).

I'd ask for a spoonful of the sauce to sample before you order it for the kids.

I think I had the filet with some type of blue cheese butter on the asparagus and steak...YUM!!!!!! next time I'm going to order an extra side of veggies!!!

Oh, and the raspberry sauce on the cheese cake is so good you'll want to lick the plate....not that I would ever do anything like that though...

Good morning Jen. I was bad today and stayed home from Church too. DH had to go into work for a few hours this morning (actually he's still there). Normally I would just take the kids to Church myself, but for some reason I was so tired last night and this morning. I hope I'm not coming down with something. I feel okay otherwise, just very tired. I'm sure all the sunshine today will make me feel good!

As for sports, I grew up in a household that followed sports (rather than TV shows), so it rubbed off. I never "got" football until I started dating my DH. His enthusiasm was infectious and that's where I am today. (Of course, he's a Minnesota Vikings fan, which I think might be a team more hapless than even the Chicago Cubs!)

DH also took me shopping yesterday. I announced that most of my long sleeve shirts make me look boxy and that I didn't know what to do. "Buy new ones!" he said, and took me out to the mall. He's so great!! (I got three shirts, which isn't bad, all of which are fitted better than my box-shirts so I'm pretty pleased!)

With the current economic woes, it looks like the in-laws aren't coming to Disney in January. My FIL is the town dentist and obviously his income is based on the ability of his patients to pay. I think he'll just end up circling his wagons, for now. It's too bad.

Oh well. Maybe next time. Maybe if DH ever qualifies for the Boston Marathon, they'll come then (since my parents live 5 miles from the start line). They've never seen him run a marathon and Disney will be my dad's second time!!

Good Morning Snowbirds!!!
It's been a busy weekend in my house here in Wisconsin. We are Green Bay Packer fans all the way. I didn't do sports in school with the exception of Poms and cheerleading, but that was 20 years ago and it's nothing like today's poms and cheerleading .
Anywho...in Wisconsin, this weekend is a Youth Hunt, meaning that youth ages 12-16 had an opportunity to gun hunt for white tail deer. My DD12 has bow-hunted this fall, but not with the gun. Well, yesterday, right before dark, my husband calls and said she shot one. (sorry for any non-hunting lovers..) BUT she shot a HUGE 8 point buck...very cool for her first animal! I myself do not hunt, but my DH is a HUGE hunter and was so disappointed that we had 2 DD's, so this is wonderful for him. I will try to post a picture soon.

I have been trying to be low keyed and not over planning my January trip. Since we are doing the CS dining plan, I don't have to do any ADR's. We do want to go to La Nouba, but I don't know which night. I'm also waiting for the January special??
