That's crazy! My travels outside of the country have made me appreciate the Good 'ole US of A even more. You should keep working on him, or if all else fails just go on trips with other people.

Hey Guys I need your advice! I have signed up to have a fridge placed in my room at the POP. However as I keep thinking (especially on ways to save money) about it, I wonder do I really need one. The only reason I was contemplating taking it was to keep my bottles of water cold. I plan on bringing breakfast items, but that is going to be cereal bars, muffins, nothing that would require frigeration and I'm definitely not a milk drinker. So I was thinking that I could just bring a cooler with me (I'm driving down) and keep in filled with ice (I'll be taking a break each day so I could dump out the water and refill) to keep my drinks cold and my ice packs. This would save me about 60 dollars. Do you think a refridgerator is a must??

What do you do if you are in a value and don't have a refridgerator?? Any tips would be appreciated!

Your decision to just use a cooler I think is a good one. A fridge can't do anything for you a cooler can't, especially if its just for water.

Shelly, I read somewhere that it is possible to see and HEAR Wishes from the beach at the POLY - do you - or anybody else know anything about this?

Crud--I forgot to ask this over the weekend. Do any of you have a super, easy, and family favorite recipe, or dinner you want to share? I am always on the lookout!! In a family of 5 it's hard to ever fix an entire meal and have everyone like every part of it!

I am not that great in the kitchen--due to a lack of creativity! But, I can pull it out when I have to. Just to let you know, we don't do really spicey. My kids (okay, all of us) are just weinees!!! Can't handle it! Also, we eat a lot of Chicken and turkey. So, anyone want to join in, or do you think it would get to crazy?

If you have a crock pot something easy, and not very time consuming is Chicken Parmagiana - All you do is coat the chicken breast in bread crumbs, stick it in the crock pot (it can be done in about 3 hours on HIGH) and pour spaghetti sauce over it, then before you serve it you put slices of cheese over the top (I usually use Provolone or Swiss) Then all you do is make pasta and maybe some extra sauce, and voila! You can make a salad or something to go with it, and you have a tasty meal. Also, you can cook A LOT of chicken at a time. I only have a little crock pot, usually only good for a meal for 2, and I can fit 6 chicken breast halves in it.

OK you seasoned snowbirds, I'm having some planning issues!
I just can't find enough time on my vacation to fit everything in! Sadly, I can't change my airfair either!
Alright so here's my biggest issue. I know I want to spend at least 5 hours in WS, but I can't settle on a good estimate of time to allot for Future world!.
If I arrive around 10am, how long do you think it will take me to ride the following: Soarin', TT, MS, Energy Adventure, Seas, Turtle Talk & Imagination?
What do the wait times usually peak at for these attractions?

Soarin' is notorious for its long lines. The best thing for that one is a FastPass, unless you get there earlier and ride it first.
The other rides' lines aren't as long, but I'm not sure exactly how much time to allot.

Lovin' all of ya'lls pictures!!! What cuties!! I don't have very many pictures of my childhood. After my parents divorced, my dad wouldn't give my mom hardly any of her pictures. She is a picture fanatic, so he knew this would really be hard for her,....hence, that's what he did!!! Anyway, I sure am enjoying all of ya'lls!!!!!

Just wanted to say that me and the kids went walking this evening after supper. They did their scooter things and I walked/jogged 2 miles. I can tell I did more jogging than usual---my thighs can feel it!! Oh, I hope I can keep this up!! Well, gotta get busy--we have a book to read and then it's off to bed!! Good night my snow peeps!!

I am sooo enjoying everyone's old pictures! Maybe I can convince my dad to dig out all those old trays of slides and have them converted to digital. (LOL, I'm sure many of you don't know what I'm talking about...back in the olden days you could have pictures made as little translucent slides which you viewed using a projector and a screen...man, I'm old...) I do have some more recent photos I could scan, and figure out the photobucket thing. But then I watched Law & Order: SVU last night, and I'm kinda wigged out about posting pictures of my kids on the internet. I don't know why I even watch that show.

I had to stop watching SVU, because of that very reason. The stories in there are still drilled into my brain. I get sick just thinking about it. Finally I had to cut it out. I can handle the other L&Ws, but SVU is too gruesome.

So, I've been lurking on this thread for some time after my initial posts because for a while there, we didn't know if this trip was going to happen. On Monday, I was able to plead/beg/cry my way to having the full week off from work for our trip And we also now know who are all going, so we can finally finalize our plans

Well everyone...I'm not having the greatest start to my day. I had a mickey ring that broke. One of the jewels fell out and is now lost forever. I also have a necklace, it's a blue flipflop that has a mickey head on it and the chain broke for that.

I told my mom I have to go back right now and get new ones. She said I have to wait 98 days. Oh well.

Yep. My DSIL (Amreli) and I are back to training...we took some time off b/c it was sooo hot here during the summer and since I didn't know if I would get the time off from work, we'd been slacking. But now we're back to training. Our initial goal was to run 13minutes/mile, but our new goal is to just finish now. That'll be enough of an accomplishment for couch potatoes I'm hoping for some cooler weather b/c it's still in the 80's here. I can't believe how fast this thread grows...2 Parts? Incredible, and we're still three months out from January!

Morning All!!!! Well really afternoon but I have to wait for nap time before I have a minute to jump on.

I read the comment about the Law and Order SVU- glad I didn't watch it! I'm nervous enough because I gave my address to someone on the Fairy Godmailer thread to mail postcards to my kids. I'm paranoid that they are going to come rob my house while we are gone now that I gave out my address and dates of vacation. A friend of mine gave out her personal info to a scammer last week and 3 days later her home was robbed while they were sleeping. The cops don't think it's a coincidence. Crazy things seem to be happening as the economy turns bad. People are getting desperate and petty crimes and break-ins have gone up around here.
