Okay, cookies are done! :faint:

You know, as I stood there in my kitchen covered in flour and mixing, rolling, cutting out, baking, & frosting (and taking pictures of) oh about 100 Mickey-head cookies and listening (and singing)to all of the "Lunchtime with the 80's" songs on the radio, I had to stop and wonder - when exactly was it that I became such a nerd???!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

:rotfl: :rotfl: We all have a bit of nerd in us! It's what makes us so lovable! Those look soooooo yummy! Now I want cookies....hmmmm

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there are some very strong rumors going around that Space MTN is supposed to be closed for a lengthy period of time! I haven't seen or heard anything from Disney on this but, my 2009 Unofficial Guide says that Space MTN will be closed ALL next year!:sad2:

I've heard that for a while now too.:sad1: They've been saying it will go down for a year long overhaul for the past 2 years! I'm hoping that it's not going to start yet since they haven't said anything official. If they were going to start such a big project you would think they would give us PLENTY of heads up! As sad as it would be to miss it this time, the new one in Disneyland Paris is REALLY cool, and I think it would be fun to have the updated version here too. Although, that ride is such a trip down memory lane it will be hard to part with it!

Peaches, it looks like you had so much fun! What a great community experience! Makes me want to go find an apple tree and start picking!

Yep, I have 2. I got a bigger one at the WDW Store at the Orlando airport. It was a huge pain in the butt though, the ears kept falling off of poor Mickey's head! :rotfl: This one I got at the kitchen store in DTD. It's smaller and I lost very few ears today! :goodvibes

I used liquid fodo coloring. Not sure why they turned out so bright!

Could you do me a favor? Would you measure them for me? I don't want to get one and have it be the one that the ears fall off! That would make me :furious: . Thanks!

I have heard the Space Mtn rumor for 2 years now also! I guess when they did the one at DL it was down for like 1 1/2 years. Actually the rumor was going around so much right about this time last year and I was sure it was going to be closed in May. But nope! I'd still rather it be down than RNRC!!

I just checked around this morning and found it at the Laughing Place. None on ebay. I think they're on sale through today. Sale price was about $8 I think. If anybody else knows where to look, let us know.

Cool! :cool1: I will have to check out the kitchen store @DTD! I am making up my list of things I want to but for myself while at Disney! HEY That is a good QOTD -

WHAT 3 THINGS ARE YOU HOPING TO BUY FOR YOURSELF (nobody else) ON YOUR TRIP?

My list so far is - mickey cookie cutter, 2009 WDW T-shirt, and a Mickey watch!

Alright, the circumference (<-is that the correct word?) of the smaller one is 2 1/2 inches, the ears are 1 1/2. Actually the smaller one is an egg ring, I guess to make eggs in the shape of a Mickey head. But it makes a great cookie-cutter.

The larger one is 3 inches, with 1 3/4 inch ears.

Hope that helps! :goodvibes

Are they both metal? Or is that smaller one plastic/silicone? I'm probably driving you nuts! Sorry. :goodvibes

Not sure about that one. . . I just got the cookie cutter, a sweatshirt/jacket, and a huge snowglobe in May. I probably don't need much of anything!

QOTD-

I know I'm the resident Shopaholic, but I really don't like to buy souvineers. :confused3

I have seen a little mini-crown hair clip from Tinkerbelle's Treasure's (I think it is called) and I might like to check that out. princess:

Other than that, here's what I plan on purchasing:
1. Lapu Lapu
2. Grand Marnier Slush
3. Gummi Cherries in Germany

That's a great question! I'm a foodie, not really into souveniers. SO my list might seem silly...

1) Grand marnier slush
2) dole whip :)
3) some pastries in Epcot from Germany and France.

Works for me! :thumbsup2

Now if we are talking about food, I can definitely pick 3! :goodvibes

1) Smores dessert from LeCellier
2) Chocolate covered pretzels from Goofy's Candy Co
3) Grey Goose Slushie

Embrace the nerdiness its the only way to survive!!! Just jump on board my friend!!:rotfl: BTW those cookies look so delicious!! Lucky son and class!!!

Um yeah, I might have cheated on the frosting and just colored it!! :ssst:

My kids love the 80's too! :yay: :yay: Is it wrong that they know all the words to Jenny/8675309 ??? :rotfl:

Oh that horrible song LOL ...just kidding but when your nickname is Jenny...you can only imagine how many times you have to listen through that...so I know all the words too LOL!!

QOTD:

I want to buy
1) A Mickey T-Shirt
2)A snowglobe (I eventually want to start a collection, I have a Phantom of the Opera one, now I need a cool Disney one)
3) A Dole Whip ( I have never had one and I hear that I must have one)

I'm going to be so bummed if Splash, PhilHarmagic, and Space Mtn are all closed those are huge names at MK!! Let's hope they leave the rest of the parks alone!

Shelly-

I can't wait for the Smore's dessert! You have me so excited about it.:goodvibes

Another note on having pictures of yourself. Fashion changes so quickly that no matter how you look or what your wearing in the picture, most likely your kids will still think you look goofy when they look at the pictures in 10+ years from now.
My Mom's feathered bangs still get to me, and she thought they were the way to do her hair for like 15 years.

QOTD:
I'm not really big on buying souvenirs either. Especially not for myself. Also, I'm very picky. I've gotten hats for myself the last two trips I've made, but I don't think I'm going to plan on buying anything in particular this time. However, I am planning on seeking out the Botan Rice Candy in Japan in the World Showcase and bringing home a ton. I LOVE love LOVED it when I was a little kid, but the last couple times I've went my family convinced me I made it up. Since joining these boards I found out it was not a myth...and there really are candies that you can eat the wrapper of at Disney.
