Woohoo! I'm still in my first semester of college :scared1: . I've got a long way to go!

Trust me, it goes faster than you think!! I graduated December '07 and looking back now, yeah it goes fast. It seems to drag on with projects and papers, but it will be over before ya know it! What are you going to school for?

That's kind of what I think - a little jerky, but not bad. Nothing like Space Mtn, that thing is so rough I lose my breath sometimes.

Ha! Me too!! But I love it!!

Hi Snowbirds... not much time to talk... DD was hurt at college today and is sitting in the emergency room.... looks like some damage to her leg... not sure if it is broken or what.... so I am waiting for DH to get home so we can go get her.... luckily she is only 45 minutes away..... she is a tough kid... doesn't sound to upset... very mature.... but thank goodness still wants her Mom.... I am sure I will have many pages to catch up on when I get back.... have good afternoon Snowbirds!!!

I just saw this-but wanted to tell you I am praying for your dd--let us know how she is ----- and how YOU are!!!

Pink Diamond--Congrats!! So, do you grad in Dec, or May?

OK - question from a not so switched on Aussie who's now concerned about flight delays and who doesn't know how US flights all connect together... We're arriving in LAX on 22 Dec, and have a direct flight with United LAX/MCO. What's the chances we'll have flight delays??? I'm hoping that because it's direct that things should be fine.

[/COLOR]

Considering you're flying from Southern California to Florida, you shouldn't have too much problem. I haven't heard of a lot of flight delays coming out of LAX, but I've never flown out of there myself, so I really don't know. It also can depend on where the plane you will be flying on is coming from. I think usually they just kind of make round trips all day, so a plane to Florida will be coming from Florida as well, but again I'm not sure.
Usually the major delays are in New York City and Chicago, I think. Basically anything up north is more subject to delays. You have a chance of delays anywhere though, especially since they've been cutting back on flights going to and from everywhere, but LAX is a pretty major airport in a sunny area, so I can't imagine your delay would be too bad.

yup... I'm amazed at how fast it went and now I only have a semester and a half. Of course I thought I was going to be here for 5+ years originally, because the Architecture program was 5 years long, then they added a Masters option which would have been 6. Then, when I changed my major I thought it would take me extra time, but it didn't. Actually, I could have added on a minor and probably still finished... well, at least by the time Logan graduates. I'm going to be so relieved in May, because I am so sick of school right now, though I have no idea what I'll do until Logan graduates....

I'm going for nursing with a double major in art :cool1: . I might get a masters to be a nurse practitioner too.

looks great :thumbsup2 Did you order everything from Target?

No. The shirts I ordered from disneyshopping.com. Some of them were on clearance!!! I bought the Tink tank top and backpack from my local Target store. The tank was also on clearance and I bought a matching one for my DD too! (they were in the girls section).

Meghan - those shirts are so cute!! I almost ordered the pink one too. Great Disney minds think alike! I love all the Tink stuff. Man, the shopping never ends! I love it!

I love anything with Tink! My Mom bought me a Tink watch last Christmas and I wear it almost daily! The pink one is so cute on. I of course had to try everything on even though I told my DH he could give them to me for Christmas.

Meghan - Those are too cute! Love them.

Thanks!

Good evening My lovely Snowbird friends! :goodvibes

I come to you this evening with a bit of a tragedy that has befallen our family. :sad2: It seems as though our cat has disappeared :scared1: She is an 11yr old black short hair cat and has been an indoor cat her entire life! As of late she hasn't been herself. Not eating, getting sick frequently and being snarly with the kids. I could tell she wasn't well. We talked about it and decided that if she wasn't improving by the end of this weekend that we would take her see a vet. Well, we were getting ready to head out for a bit earlier this evening and I realized that I hadn't seen the cat for most of the day. We called her and called her but she didn't come. We searched the house top to bottom and looked in all the noks and crannys she is so fond of hiding in. So we decided to look outside. Now you have to know that as an indoor cat, she does not like to be outside, AT ALL! She never asks to go out nor has she ever tried to get outside, EVER! Lately though, she has been trying to get out whenever somebody opens the door! Strange for her! Anyway, DH and DD7 decided to go around for a bit and look for her before it got too dark. Well, they did not have any luck. I searched the house again and again calling her and shaking her food jar (which usually brings her running) to no avail. I think she is gone:sad1: The kids are soooo sad:sad2: and I know DH is too. I am too, but if she is infact gone, I almost feel releieved in a way. True we didn't get to say goodbye, but now we don't have to worry about what to do with her when we are gone away in January. She gets really lonely when we go away and she is just too old and opinionated to spend time in a kennel. My parents/sister usually come to check and feed her when we are away for a weekend but almost 2 weeks is too long for that.
Thanks for putting up with this long post but I needed to write it out to help feel better and I knew that some, if not all of you would be sympathetic to my ramblings! For those of you who do so , would you please pray for my dear sweet little girls who are going to miss their kitty terribly? Thanks so much!
I am going to say goodnight now as I need to have my shower and get into my cozy bed! I have been having waaayyy too many late nights lately! :goodvibes Catch y'all in the morning! :)

Congratulations!! Job well done!

I can't believe how fast this thread is moving. I seriously can't keep up with you all.

After falling asleep early last night to rid myself of a migraine, I found myself up at 11:45 pm with a little boy with croup. Poor baby. I hate when he gets it. It's the only sickness he ever has to deal with. Thankfully, a quick drive around the neighborhood with the windows wide open worked wonders.

Anyway . . . Shelly. I'm so sorry that you have to keep changing my ADRs. I promise that this is the LAST change I'm going to be making.

CBR is a great resort. We stayed here last Aug. I felt it was a very nice to get around. The grounds are lovely, and trans. was never a problem leaving the resort. We waited a couple of times coming home from MK and MGM, but so were the other resorts.

Shelly or any other Caribbean Beach Resort lover...just hoping to get your thoughts on the resort. I have never been to WDW and picked WL because of the easy transportation back to the resort (for naps & ADR's).

My DH has been giving me a hard time about the $$ for WL and I am hoping for a discount. The Canadian discounts blacked out my dates so I was thinking they may be the same for the public discounts.

Is the transportaion bad for CBR?? Is the resort a pain to get around like everyone say's?

:thanks: :thanks: :disrocks: :thanks: :thanks:

OMG, I would be so disappointed if that was the first castle I saw.

I liked it :lmao:! But I dont want it to look like that for me in Jan.

I'm so sorry to hear about this! We have two cats and they are definately a part of the family. I will pray for your little girls. I know my DD would be absolutely devasted if anything happened to either one of our kitties.

We love CBR, the other resorts we have stayed at haven't compared for us. We've never stayed at a deluxe, so I can't really say how it would compare to the WL. Although I do know that CBR has larger rooms than the rest of the moderates, making them the same size as the rooms at WL and AKL. So for a lot less money you would be getting the same size room.

As for the transportation, WDW transportation is hit or miss no matter where you stay - Value, Moderate, or Deluxe. No, CBR won't have a boat to MK like the WL does. It buses to everywhere. We had no bus issues whatsoever when we stayed there. The nice thing about CBR is that it does not share buses with any other resort, very few resorts are like that. And it is centrally located, so none of the bus rides are very long.

As far as getting around, there is a bus stop in every "village" of CBR, so you are never far from one. The resort is very large, but that's the beauty of it for us. There is also a "quiet pool" in every village. And the main pool has just been completely redone and it is huge and zero entry - like a deluxe. Plus the addition of the new children's pirate pool. And the rooms are all currently being redone. It is all very well marked and we never found the resort hard to navigate. Most villages are a 5 minute walk to the pool, food, & gift shop. A few are more like a 10-12 minute walk. There is an internal bus that you can take if you don't like to walk.

Let me know if you have any other questions! :goodvibes

Thanks for the advice! I talked to my DH and I guess we are going to wait to see if we can get a good discount. If not I think we will switch to CBR. I guess it doesn't really matter where we stay - WE WILL BE IN WDW :goodvibes

QOTD: I need a new sweatshirt or long-sleeve T-shirt. I would like to find the Mickey cookie cutter, some scrapbook supplies. I also need a new Eeyore...I get a new one each trip.

Sorry about your missing cute...I would be devestated if one our animals disappearred. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, a fish and a turtle.

:yay: :yay: Congrats on graduating.
I remember the sigh of relief after my graduation audit back in 2004. Now I'm a calculus class and thesis away from a Master's degree. I can't wait to finish.

I'm also curious about why towns are having Halloween early. Our's is on Halloween.

WOOHOO!!!!   Congratulations!

Thanks for all the kind words!:goodvibes I guess there is still a small part of me with a "wait and see" kind of attitude. I asked Scot if he thought my parents could really do this and he said, "Not on their own." I know it's going to be a long process. But the fact that they are willing to work on things is enough to give me hope. That was all I asked from both of them last year--that they not just give up, but fight. Now they are both in a position to do it. Lots of prayers still needed, but they are moving in the right direction!

Okay...that cake castle is just wrong! How ugly! Was that some kind of redo on Cinderella's castle? YIKES! Hopefully they don't do something that awful again!

I see an answer to the QOTD, but I didn't see the question. What was the question exactly?

I am trying to make some t-shirt buying decisions. I want to have them ordered and print out the iron-ons here before we fly home, so all I have to do when I get there is iron them on. So, I have to decide on colors for the iron-ons and t-shirts. Where did you all get your t-shirts? Do you suggest 100% cotton for the shirts? I'm no good at stuff like that! I did just see a darling Scrabble board DISsign for Toy Story Mania. I know my younger son would love it! But I have got to draw a line somewhere! We've got enough DISsigns to last us a lifetime!:lmao:

Do you all have short sleeve t-shirts to wear in the parks? I'll be sad if we have to cover them all up with jackets every day, all day!:sad2: But I'd be sadder if the weather was so warm that we couldn't wear a long sleeve t all day and that's all I made. I guess I'll just go with short sleeves and jackets and pray for SUN!:thumbsup2

Still waiting for that special January code! I'm so impatient...but now that the Canada deal has been out, we should be getting something soon, right? :woohoo:

I hope you all have a GREAT day!
~~Carrie

I've heard about the Mickey Head rice crispy treats... those might be fun.

That's exactly what I was thinking...

I've heard that they'll stamp anything, so if you don't want to spend the money on the passport kit, you could probably make up your own for cheaper, or incorporate it into an Autograph book.

Haha... for our Family Trip in May/June we're trying to have our days spanning over 2 people's birthday's. We'll probably go for the two youngest though, so we won't have to deal with them feeling left out. However, I have a feeling my little brother will probably go for the FastPass badge, because not waiting in line would appeal to him. My sister could go either way... she doesn't like shopping, so I don't think she'd want the gift card, but she doesn't like rides either... If it was my birthday, I would probably put it towards dinner with everybody, course my birthday is in value season, so ride lines aren't as big of an issue...

Instead of having a single room that's a girlie room... I'll probably give Logan his own room for his army/hunting/fishing gear. Otherwise, it will be strewn all over the house... we'll see how it pans out though...

That store holds a soft spot in my heart... When I went on my last trip I was trying to find the perfect gift for Logan. I was having a really hard time, because I didn't want to get him anything too kiddie, though he probably would have been ok with that, so I decided that I wanted to get him a stuffed animal of his favorite character. I narrowed it down to either Mater or Dumbo, but was having a hard time finding either. They did have like a remote control or windup Mater, but I didn't really want to get that for him, and I couldn't find Dumbo anywhere.
Well, during our trip we were all in the Magic Kingdom, and I'm not sure exactly what happened (I think everybody else wanted to ride some ride that we had already ridden, or wanted food or something), but Adam needed someone to escort him to Toontown (he was only 9, so we all took turns escorting him) He was collecting a different coin necklace from every park, and I think he was having trouble finding one in the Magic Kingdom, he had looked in all of the Lands except Toontown. Well, we hurried off to Toontown and found that GIANT store... and right inside the entrance was a shelf of Dumbo dolls, and pushed in the back corner of the bottom shelf was the last one. I snatched it up, and was so thrilled with myself for finding it.

(P.S. Logan absolutely adores it, and sleeps... er... I mean looks at it every night);)

YAY! I love it when fun packages come in the mail. Right now I'm having all my fun packages sent to my Mom's house though, so I haven't actually gotten to open anything, because she does it for me...:rotfl:

YAY! What glorious news... I can see the end as well... it's (excuse me for singing Disney) "Just around the riverbeeeend!"

Maggied: I'm so sorry about your daughter. I hope it's a fast healing injury.

Peaches: I'm glad your parents are working it out. My parents went through counseling a few years ago. They're still together... but I don't think they've worked out their issues.:sad2: I think they've just kind of resigned to staying together, and I really wish they would go back to counseling and really try to work out their issues, because it really sucks for them. I honestly think that if they would both just put a little more effort into it, then they would realize that if they're going to stay married they might as well like each other.
I'm very happy that your parents are really trying to work it out. I think that counseling can really work if both people are committed to the relationship, and really want to learn how to make their relationship better.

I hate it when marriages fall apart... I really love it when people work it out, and remember why they got married in the first place.

Wow...army stuff made it into tubs in the garage they didn't even get a place in the house LOL!! Right now I think my living room is pretty classy doesn't look too much like a hunting lodge, but then he's like we have to mount my antelope horns...I'm like where the laundry room?? LOL!!

The Mickey Rice Krispie treats I hadnt even thought of that!! YAY!! Those would be okay a day or too...Im so going to do it!! THANK YOU!!

I know what you're going through. Our poor little guy had croup more times than I can count, including one bad enough for a hospital stay when he was about 1-1/2. Even now he'll get that barky cough and it's enough to terrify me.

Northern Disney Girl - I will keep your girls in my prayers. We recently lost our 15-year old lab. Our son was devastated.

Wow! BUSY! Perhaps I missed this conversation before but...Why exactly are you doing Halloween a week early? :confused3

Ours is always the Saturday before Halloween, and it just happens that with Halloween being on a Friday, trick or treat will be 6 days before Halloween.

Our downtown area (very small town) will have a parade and a merchants trick or treat on Tuesday night and our local grocery store has trick or treat on Halloween night. So many opportunities for trick or treating!

Morning Snowbirds

Hope everyone had a good sleep last night.

I forgot to answer yesterday's QOTD! I think I'm going to pick up some more Potato Head Pieces. I just love Mr. Potato Head and the Disney pieces make him even better. DS doesn't even play with it anymore. I also want to get a lanyard and some pins. I'm sure there will be some t-shirt/sweatshirt buying as well.
