Afternoon Snowbirds!
Hope everyone's have a great day!
It's very busy here!
There's also a nasty fog rolling in. I love these kinds of days because it's so cool to watch from my office. I have a loverly corner office on the 16th floor over looking central park, it makes work a lot more bearable!!!!

Peaches, my prayers are also out for Danny's family, that is so heartbreaking to hear.

QOTD: Hmmm, I have some awesome meals planned, it's so hard to pick one! I'm really looking forward to my dinner at the Cali Grill as it'll be my first night there and I love their food, and my second choice would be Marrakesh since it's the first time I'll be eating there!

Has anyone ever had Duck Confit? What is it?

QOTD:
At the moment, (insert my thick southern accent) I'm looking forward to eating a friend chicken leg at the HoopDeeDoo. Yeehaw!

Here are some pics and description of Duck Confit

QOTD: I can't decide between Le Cellier and Ca Grill for my most anticipated meal... I'm a little nervous because we have an early dinner (5:15, I think) planned for Le Cellier which means the kids will have to power through a full day without a nap. Last trip they napped each day and we ate at resorts, but this year they're not really napping so much at home so we're hoping they can do it. I'd hate to cancel that ADR! (Of course, it would probably make someone's day and I'd rather cancel than have 2 terrible kids at dinner!)
:confused3

Peach3s - so sorry about Danny's family. That is so heartbreaking. :sad1:

QOTD:

1900 Park Fare and Chef Mickey's. There's only a few Character Dining’s we haven't done yet and we have heard nothing but great things about both places.:)

I loved 1900 Park Fare. We had the little characters from Target that had the Cinderella, Prince Charming, and Stepsisters. Anastasia saw them and it was obvious (though surprising) that she'd never seen a doll of herself before. She screamed and yelled for Drusilla and they made a big production over the dolls throughout dinner. It was so fun. :rotfl:

OK All of you early January snowbirds who attend fantasmic have to fill us late Snowbirds in on the line situation!!!!

Now I'm getting nervous too! I love this show but was hoping to show up within the hour and get a seat since it's a slow time, but with only 2 shows a week it might be PACKED!

Can you sleep in that day and go to Epcot around late morning - maybe 11:00ish? Maybe something like that would help! :goodvibes

Of course my kids don't nap anymore (they haven't since they were 2 :sad2: ), but we still usually only do the parks in half days just to make things easier on everybody! I guess they aren't really half days, we just don't open & close the parks on the same day. We either go at rope drop and leave around 5 or so, or we go around 11:30am and stay until close.

The dessert buffet at Chef Mickey's is amazing!! :goodvibes Hey, I think I already have an idea for the menu of the day for tomorrow! :rotfl:

I have a feeling that with every menu you post I'm going to have to reconsider all of my ADRs LOL!! I just love thinking about the Disney food LOL!!

You're not going to change your strategy because the park hours are so much shorter than you're used to?

Still here but going crazy:crazy: can only find the time to read quickly between customers. October is crazy around here (think black fri everyday for 31 days).

Wishing good vibes:goodvibes to all snowbirds!! Someone please post info on Fantasmic we haven't been to it & not sure if I want to wait in line for it. Since we will be joining friends down there not sure if their little guy wouldnt get scared in it. My kids no problem nothing scares them except housework.

Gotta run drinks to make.

Thanks for sharing the info about Duck Confit. I'm going to read your trip report now. I bet the experience at 1900 PF was a blast! I'm really considering changing an ADR to go there. :)

I feel the same way!!!!! See my above message to distherapy!

We are going to try to do an all-dayer at DHS since it is only open 9-7. We will still do our usual plans for MK because it is open 9-8 and Epcot because it is open 9-9.

QOTD...well I am looking forward to eating at JIKO for the first time...but we may be cancelling it. We are trying to keep our January trip pretty cheap (since we were just there and did deluxe dining) and if we do eat at JIKO we are looking at spending about $160 on dinner plus a little over 100 for a baby sitter...We'll see. I am doing Crystal Palace before park opening for the first time. I am excited to walk down main street when its empty.

Okay, distherapy. I'm only on day 1 of your trip report and I'm squalling my eyes out! Not taking my daughter on this trip is getting harder than I thought!
