We are in Clarence, I am originally from Long Island, this is the first time I will be here for the winter  :scared1: :scared: :cold:

Hey we drive by you all the time on the way between Fredonia and home in Ontario NY! DBF's Grandma lives right in Alden, which could quite possibly be our house some day. I'm not going to lie to you.... the winters here are pretty much terrible! :lmao: I don't know what they're like in Long Island but especially being so close to Lake Erie here, it gets nasty windy and bitter. Ick, I need to move to Florida ASAP!! :rotfl2:

Hey, distherapy! I need to make a shout-out to my fellow Memphian. All this talk about Pennsylvania and Michigan and snow and food makes me think I need another trip besides Disney to plan! Ya up for it? Bella and Sarilas can meet us in Memphis then the four of us can drive up to Michigan, hang out at coffeehousemom's er uh coffeeshop, drag race with trixiequilts in her four-wheel drive. We can hang a long right towards PA, stop by to get some Wawa coffee to keep us awake while we're listening to Billy Joel and mapping out our cheesesteak hoagie grinder stops. We'll keep the party going and pick up Sharadoc and Momof2DisneyBoys along the way.

I apologize if I've forgotten anyone [and I know that I have! - I just wanted to type out this post and was too lazy to go back a few pages] - I'm open to all sorts of road-trip-fun suggestions!
Awesome! I'm in! :car: :drinking1 Meet you at the Wawa - you want cream in your coffee? :thumbsup2

DisneyMommy3-
Stay safe and keep in touch with me.

Or- come to our house. We have a generator. :goodvibes

Oh, and Belle's Halloween Costumes (that's right people, I said costumeS - I couldn't choose between Cindy and Minnie,so she's both) came in today and I think it worked a little in the Disney-obsession-department. I put Belle in her Cinderella costume and he melted. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen her in!!!! I will post pictures soon. :lovestruc

Girl! We have a generator too!! Oh boy! We are still having power and all is good. If I go to mom's I am gonna get in touch with you!! And my little girl wants to be Minnie Mouse!

Good to see there are some fellow New Yorker's here! We'll fit right in with our PA Snow Bird friends.;)

If you're right at campus, everybody might as well go visit DBIL's bike shop!

Gillettes is pretty close around there, too. Maybe she could give us the tour of Greenfield Village!

What is the Jiffy factory?

Do you have a secret to getting game tickets? I'm sure you already know, but my friend :lmao: Phelps is going to be back there for the game on the 27th. He and Bowman are going to receive awards or something during the game. (I know, Shelly, here I go with the Phelps thing again...)

Jiffy - as in the cornbread and muffin mix company with the blue and white boxes! Made in Dexter, Michigan!

A secret to getting tickets? Making sure husband is logged on the second single game tickets go on sale!! That's about it. And Wisconsin is a very popular game - hotels for the surrounding 15 miles were sold out a month ago!

:lmao: Hoogie.....I can not stop laughing.
Wawa makes a pretty good hoagie also.
Wawa is a south eastern store. www.wawa.com
They go as far as VA. now. Least that’s the last one we saw when we drove to WDW last year. I think they should be state wide.I live very close to the wawa plant. They are very good to the community.
Cheese steaks are so good. You don’t really have to go to Philly to get a good one. Delaware...Claymont steak shop makes the best I think.
I am not a big UTZ chip fan, I like Herr’s. I never really thought about it before, I guess different states don’t have Herr’s or UTZ chips? I just always thought they were like Fritos or Doritos .:confused3

I told you it would be my luck that they'd be my neighbor. I'm in Arbor Woods, which is new-ish.

Well, if you're visiting trixiequilts, on your way back, stop by my place and I'll take you to a game or to a tour of the Big House (not the biggest again until 2010) and a tour of campus. I can show you where all the news reports on UMich are recorded, which (of course) generally has little to do with what's on the news. Plus, we can head out to the Jiffy factory for a tour and then in closer to Detroit to look at the Henry Ford and Ford factory tours! ;)
Woo-hoo, a game at the Big House. Even non-sports fan me knows how cool that is -- I'll make sure I pack my long underwear for that! And, although I'm born and bred in the South, I do love me some slightly sweet Jiffy cornbread...maybe they'll give us some samples after the tour, then let us test drive some cars at Ford . Michigan, here we come! Sarbah, you are some kind of tour guide!

Awesome! I'm in! :car: :drinking1 Meet you at the Wawa - you want cream in your coffee? :thumbsup2
Actually, the more cream the better and extra sugar too. And can I get an extra big mug? Life is a bit colder up there than here.

But with all the hoagies or hoogies and pretzels and cheese curds [sorry, guys, but does that really sound appetizing??!?!?!], we'll have to save room for your friends at deiners. And maybe save our wawa coffee for our luscious desserts at their bakery.

Seriously, though, I've been praying for our Texas and Louisiana cousins for the past two days. I can't imagine having to choose between leaving your home to possible destruction or not leaving your home to possible destruction and injury. Please be careful! And please keep us posted!

Sorry to correct you, but it's HOAGIE!

Oh, so hoggie was a misspelling of HOAGIE???? Oh, my...I never even made the connection! In my neck of the woods, no one would ever misspell HOAGIE, so I thought hoggie must be some other delicious treat!:lmao:

Sorry folks...but there is no such thing as a Sub or a Grinder. They're all hoagies to me!:rotfl2:

We have a hoagie shop in my town called Mac's Hoagies. The only decorations in the place are the neon colored signs explaining the different kinds of hoagies they make, floor to ceiling and across the ceiling. If you come up with something different and yummy you'll get a hoagie named after you. :thumbsup2

I can not wait to get a Mac's Hoagie when I get home! They load on the meat. And we can't get pepperoni here...so you know I'm going to have a heart attack hoagie: aka, Italian special!:lmao:

I'm so sorry to hear about the storms blowing through the south. :sad1: Praying everyone is okay!

Now here's a question for all my PA snowbirds: who eats Middleswarth chips? Utz are okay...but Middleswarth? Out of this world! BBQ! I should share with you the photos of me eating my very first Middleswarth BBQ chip in nearly 4 years!:rotfl2:

I also forgot to mention that there is a stroller swap happening in January for a sit and stand double stroller. It's available January 2-8, making a swap with me on the 8th! :thumbsup2 If anyone is interested, check out the budget board for a stroller swap started by iheartdisney. Everyone who has used the stroller so far has loved it! And I'd rather make a personal hand-off than have it sit in storage.

Middlewarth pictures to come!:rotfl:

Come on by during the road trip!! I live 5 minutes from Greenfield Village and have a year round membership there. In fact I have been there twice in the last week. Once for the old car festival and once as a treat for DD4 to ride the model Ts, the carousel and buy rock candy!! I have always wanted to do the rouge tour but DH did his apprenticeship there and said he has seen the place inside and out. Sorry I have been away for while, life is crazy here!! And you ladies are hard to keep up with. Take care!

Hey yunz guys....don't yunz wanna stop dahntahn in Pittsburgh. We gonna over to Sahside and get a Primanti's........while watching the Stillers.

You can keep the cheesesteaks. Nothing like a Primanti's sandwich...... 2 slices of thick italian bread with grilled meat, cheese, cole slaw (vinegar based), tomato and french fries all in one. Capp (as in cappicola), cheese and a fried egg on top for me!!! :thumbsup2

Philly Cheesesteaks are great!! And I don't even live near Philly. :rotfl: They are great here in Pittsburgh! I think it's a PA thing. I got one at a food court in WDW and it was so nasty. I'm not sure what they did to it, but it was not a Philly Cheesesteak, as they claimed!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we momentarily interrupt this thread to advise Shelly had a minor memory lapse in that the Primanti's sandwich is the OFFICIAL sandwich of The Burgh.......

We now return you to you normally scheduled thread......

:lmao:

As a Southern lady - who has never been any further north than Georgia- I would love to know if Philly Cheesesteak's are as wonderful as I imagine?!?!

I crave them!:goodvibes

Too much Food Network, I suppose.

Bella....I know I live in PA and have all of this wonderful PA food at my finger tips....but somedays I just crave some grits, red eye gravy and biscuits as only my Aunt Essie could make......my mom's side of the family is from South Carolina.....I am so hoping that I can go to the Fabulous Food Show in Cleveland.....Paula Deen and Bobby Deen are going to be there. As is Guy Fieri....I am such a Food Network Junkie.

I want to come along on your road trip!! PLEEAAASSSEE!! We could head on over to Hershey and pick up some Reese's Peanutbutter Cups or some Hershey Bars:goodvibes

Peaches . . . I grew up eating Middleswarth BBQ chips. I agree that they are fantastic. I still get a craving for them every now and then.
