Seriously though, I just cannot keep up with this board anymore!! Between all my classes, labs, and my tutoring job I'm barely home. I'm lucky to get any homework done before I have to hit the sack, let alone surfing the web!

But reading all your posts, and seeing your Disney bins makes me feel so much better! It really is nice to have a group of people here that actually understand the obsession with Disney. Whenever I'm having a hard time, or even when I'm not, I just think "We're going to Disney..." and I can't help but cheer up!

My boyfriend has no clue... of course he's never been on any vacation except to their family cottage in Canada! And he wasn't raised "Disney" as someone said. (Which I totally was, I think all I watched for my first 12 years was the Disney channel and Disney movies!) Hopefully he'll turn around after January. Hey, maybe we can even go there for the semester after we graduate college next December? I always wanted to do the college program but I don't think I could leave my puppy at home or live apart from my DBF I think you can petition to live outside of the provided housing but it sounds complicated....

I feel so left out not living in PA! I have extended family there does that count? Probably passed through 20 times on the drive to and from DW! But speaking of local food I just love the stuff up here!! White hot dogs, Trash Plates (fill plate with mac salad, and home fries, throw a couple of cheeseburger patties on top and cover it meat hot sauce) and Poutine (this is actually Canadian, french fries with cheese curd and gravy).... mmm now I'm totally starving

Hey, distherapy! I need to make a shout-out to my fellow Memphian. All this talk about Pennsylvania and Michigan and snow and food makes me think I need another trip besides Disney to plan! Ya up for it? Bella and Sarilas can meet us in Memphis then the four of us can drive up to Michigan, hang out at coffeehousemom's er uh coffeeshop, drag race with trixiequilts in her four-wheel drive. We can hang a long right towards PA, stop by to get some Wawa coffee to keep us awake while we're listening to Billy Joel and mapping out our cheesesteak hoagie grinder stops. We'll keep the party going and pick up Sharadoc and Momof2DisneyBoys along the way.

I apologize if I've forgotten anyone [and I know that I have! - I just wanted to type out this post and was too lazy to go back a few pages] - I'm open to all sorts of road-trip-fun suggestions!

The should have been 2 hour trip took nearly 5 on the thruway!! Which actually had to be totally shut down after a bad storm last winter. But it has got me thinking about getting to the airport in January. Thank goodness my daddy has a 4WD Bronco and DBF dad's got a 4WD Tundra. Usually the plows around here are pretty good due to the large amount of lake-effect we receive. Ick I'm feeling cold already.

Actually, Pittsfield Township between Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor. So, I imagine, you drive RIGHT BY ME to head west!!!

Of course, the way my luck works (*in this sort of thing, very well), your family probably lives two blocks away. (In fact, both my neighbors work the same place we do. One of them works in both my department AND my husband's! The other is a doctor. We don't think much of her - and that's a comment on her, not doctors!!)

My DBIL/DSisIL live in Pittsfield Township, too! You're probably neighbors! I can't remember the name of their subdivision, I'll have to ask them. How funny!

I'm nervous about this one, because it seems to be a good bit stronger than Gustav. (And remember, I'm just in North Louisiana.) Please continue to pray for everyone near the Gulf Coast area.

Thanks!! I am glad you have found such a good school and that you can be so involved!! You are right about the family thing! I just keep it under wraps because we have started surprising the kids, & all the adults put a damper on it for us-so we don't tell 'em!!

At least your husbands understand the Disney obessions...... I'm still in the process of training mine.

Keep working on that Disney training--it'll pay off. Remember yesterday when out of the blue dh wanted to add a fall Disney trip!!!?? It'll happen!!Just keep working on it
And as far as Ike, our county is the ONLY ONE that didn't do man. evac. So, all the officials from surrounding areas are coming in this evening to camp out at our local high school. So, that made us feel better about staying. We are just gonna hang in there and see tonight/early morning what happens. If we lose power and just can't stand it, we'll leave and go to my mom's, but at this point she's going to get more rain than we are. So, we gotta keep praying for each other and just 'ride it out'.


Oh my gosh! Did ya'll see the video from Galveston early this morning? By ( I think 8:30), the water was starting to lap over the sea wall. YIKES!! I would not want to live down there!! Bless their hearts, it's going to be bad for them. We are expecting them to get up to a 20'storm surge.

I can show you where all the news reports on UMich are recorded, which (of course) generally has little to do with what's on the news. Plus, we can head out to the Jiffy factory for a tour and then in closer to Detroit to look at the Henry Ford and Ford factory tours!

Do you have a secret to getting game tickets? I'm sure you already know, but my friend Phelps is going to be back there for the game on the 27th. He and Bowman are going to receive awards or something during the game. (I know, Shelly, here I go with the Phelps thing again...)

What part of NY are you from??? We will be driving down to WDW in January I am very nervous.
We have a Class C RV so if you see a family driving down the thruway with a woman and her hands are around the drivers neck that will be me and my hubby

I currently attend Fredonia State south of Buffalo. I am originally from outside of Rochester, and have driven, or ridden rather, from there to DW many, many times. What part are you from? You are so lucky to have the RV! Must make the trip a lot more comfortable.

Our big plan is to head home after finals, as me and DBF are from the same hometown, spend Christmas at home, New Years at his cottage in Canada with friends (our yearly tradition) then we'll be leaving from Rochester on the 6th. I had originally thought about flying out of Buffalo but, for one, the tickets were cheaper out of Rochester (unusual) and that makes it much easier to get a ride to the airport and someone to watch our pups
