Good morning Snowbirds! :goodvibes

We went to dinner Saturday night at my favorite restaurant - Max & Erma's. Does anyone else have one near them? They just have the best steak salad in the world!

We lived in Ohio for a few years while my Husband was a District Supervisor for Nintendo and we would go to a Max and Erma’s in Cranberry, PA. Good food for sure.:thumbsup2

It was cold most of the weekend here, too! We camped at the beach, but could hardly stay down by the water because we (the adults) were too cold. I had capris and a short sleeve shirt on and wrapped up in a beach towel while the girls and DH were in the water, which was also very cold. But if this is the weather we'd have in FL in January, I'd also be very happy!

You might want to check out pictures on another one of the DIS forums. It's in the Resort Photos, Wilderness Lodge Photo Thread - Please feed my addiction!

If you show these pictures to your DH, he may change his mind and want to stay at WL.

Thanks for the info. it just might help. It is nice to know I have people on MY side! LOL

Afternoon Snowbirds!

Well, I've made the call to the ta and the result is that there are no garden view club level rooms available w/ a AAA discount at YC or BC :scared1:
So we are going to keep our itinerary unchanged. Which is still wonderful, we love WL and this will be our first club level stay. DS took the news about YC very well, he said he didn't care b/c he doesn't want to swim in Jan anyways  and the SAB would be to hard for him to resist. The DH freaked when I told him that the only cl room at YC was a lagoon view that would cost about $3200 for just the room!! :faint: So I will call the ta back, again :rotfl: when she gets back from lunch and pay the deposit on our WL room!

At least this way I don't have to change any adr's. We had already planned everything around staying at the WL. We are just happy to be going :goodvibes

I think your plans sound wonderful the way they are, this way things are all set. Nothing wrong with keeping the TA busy, right? Someday I would love to do CL, but doubt that will ever happen!

Your plans sound great Splash! :goodvibes And now you don't have to worry about changing anything.

OK, Shelly, you're going to kill me, but we've changed our ADRs again!

Here they are (and with any luck, they'll stay the same!):
1/4 Sci Fi 6PM (catching the Osborne Lights)
1/5 Brown Derby 3:30 (Fantasmic package)
1/6 Le Cellier 1:15
1/7 Jiko 8:45
1/8 Victoria & Albert 9:15
1/9 California Grill 7:15
1/10 Liberty Tree Tavern 5:45

Got you all changed AGAIN!! :rotfl: No more changes!!! Just kidding! That's what I'm here for!

Looks great! :thumbsup2

OMG :scared1: I just got more Disney mail!! What are they trying to do to me??? :rotfl: Luckily once again I got the mail instead of DS9!

This one looks like some type of room reservation confirmation. Never seen one of these before. Probably because I've never booked a room only before.

Just think, when I finally get around to booking a package I will probably get more stuff in the mail!

Maybe your boys need a reprieve on the mail-getting responsibilities until after Christmas! :rolleyes1

Yeah, I guess! Once they get back in school I will just get it before they get home. But DS9 loves getting it when he gets off the bus, so I'm not sure what I'm going to tell him as to why I'm getting it! :confused3

Good afternoon, Snowbirds!

I updated my signature to reflect my potential trip and thought I would clarify the dates I *might* visit the world for that roster of who's going when. My dates would be Friday, January 23rd through Sunday, January 26th.

I guess I'd better start doing some investigating into park hours, shows, etc. so I can make some ADRs, eh? I wonder how tough it will be to get a table for one?!? Maybe I should X-post over to the Solo Trip thread!

Thanks for the warm welcome messages from so many of you. I'll keep you updated as the conference approaches and potential plans develop.

I will get you updated on the list! :thumbsup2

You can just let us know of any changes or updates to your schedule and your ADR's as you get them!

I see you are from State College. My DH just attended 2 weeks of work training there in June. He stayed at a hotel in Williamsburg Square. The kids and I joined him on the weekend! Very nice place!

You are both right, we are very excited about going to the WL, always were! And now Mama Snowbird Shelly doesn't have to change any adr's either:laughing:

SplashMtnCrew what are your dates again?

Jan 18-24, I thought about having the ta check the day before/after but that was too many adr's to juggle and we had gotten the times and dates we requested for all of them from the itinerary planning office with no trouble, so why mess with perfection? :) :cloud9:

Just leave some 'junk mail' in the box for him to get when he gets off the bus, that way it will seem 'normal' to him :thumbsup2

Hello fellow Snowbirds,

DD was sick today, so I had to keep her home from camp and stay with her. She was feeling better this afternoon so we went out to do a little dollar store shopping. Got some Mickey scented markers pack of 6 at 3/$1 (going out of business sale), plus some other silly little things.

On the way home, we saw a sign in Blockbuster for a clearance sale, so I thought I'd check out some movies. Got Enchanted (pre-viewed) for $10, which is cool, but the big item is a Disney DVD player, with interchangeable face plates (Hannah, HSM, Tink or POTC), with rechargeable battery, car and home power cords, headphones and remote for $49! :thumbsup2 I think that's a great price. It also came with a DVD with Cory in the House, Hannah Montana and High School Musical remix.

It's a cute set - all of the pieces have the big Disney D or the word Disney on them, even the headphones have the Disney on each earpiece. And the controls are the corporate symbol Mickey Head. So now I don't have to worry about sharing or borrowing on the road trip - DD is VERY excited about having her own, especially a Disney one. She's watching a movie now and just told me the screen saver is the princesses that pop up all over the screen.

It even has it's own carry handle and seems to be pretty sturdy so a kid can beat it up (at least a little).

This trip is going to bankrupt me before I even get there! I would never have bought this if it wasn't for the trip. The bad part of it all is that I should have gone back later on my own, and hid it for a Christmas present. :santa:

Oooh I want this. I have to have my hubby check blockbuster near us. We( well hubby actually) got a mickey mouse portable dvd player a few years ago at target on clearance for 39$. They had the same one with princesses for 3 times the price.

So . . . I spent the day at Hershey Park today with my son, husband and other family.

I don't know if any of you have been there or not. We go frequently, as we are only about 20 minutes away. It really got me thinking about how much I want to get back to Disney.

Hershey is a nice park with lots of thrill rides but it is packed with rude people and rude employees. It rained a good bit and they completely shut all of the rides down. Everything is exposed to the elements.

I hate to put Hershey down. When it comes down to it, it is a nice family park with a nice variety but it's no Disney.

On the Disney side, DH and I spent some of the day firming up our travel plans for our trip. Since we are driving, we wanted to determine departure time and gas ups. We enjoy the drive and have done it many, many times between the two of us. We're very lucky that our son is a great traveler.
