OMG :scared1: I just got my mail! And it's a good thing that I got it. DS9 usually gets it. It got Disney mail!! :woohoo: It says - Special Trip Planning information we've put together just for your family! Then right inside the cover it says - We're so happy you're coming back in January! :cool1: That was a close one. I'm going to have to watch the mail the closer it gets to the trip!

Holy Carp! That WAS a close one! I'm so jealous you get Disney mail...I won't get anything because of the points rental. :sad1: I might have to get on a fairy godmailer list or something.

Can I request that you post more pics of your last trip to keep all of the impatient Snowbirds like me happy until January?

You're going to be there that week too. I bet your 2 boys would have a nice time at the activities and movie one night at the pool! Maybe you could stop over and meet us. :dance3:

I think a few of us will have kids with us - there's a built-in gang to play with for them and I think it's evenly split between boys and girls.

Well that's sure a possibility! :cool1:

Sure, anything in-particular anyone would like to see???

I know exactly what you mean! :rotfl:

It's also HYSterical because... we went to Alaska in June. 7 night cruise, 3 days independent land tour. He looked at the grand total and boggled. So when you tell him what an 8 night hotel & dining and 5 days of tickets cost, he doesn't even blink. :cool1:

note to self: plan disney trips after crazy trips more often

;)

Good Afternoon Snowbirds!

:welcome: To all the new Snowbirds!

Shelly, you are doing such a great job on this thread! Thanks for your hard work :flower3:

Seems like everyone is pretty happy with the 2009 prices! The DH and I have left over tix we've been using for two years that are wp&m w/no exp. We have 3 days left on them...here's my question: we have to buy one day base tix in order to get the ddp and then plan on using the tix we have and buying DS a 3 day/hopper from AAA. The total for the 1 day base for each of us and DS's ticket will come to around $500......OR, should we buy 4 day park hoppers for each of us for $859 and then hope for the free hopper upgrade that disney's done for the last two years in Jan which would bring the price to $699 for tix. Any advice/suggestions snowbirds?

The reason I'm reconsidering using the tix that DH and I already have is so maybe I'll be able to convince him to go to wdw for a quick weekend getaway sometime next year  I'll be able to tell him how we already have tix, so let's just go!

Hi Splash! Long time no "see"! :goodvibes Well that's quite the ticket dilemma you have going on there. . . I say get new tickets and then try for another trip with the old tickets!! :rotfl:

I keep thinking that Disney is going to throw some good deals our way in January because of the economy! :wizard:

OK - Just did my first "official" ADR since booking and paying our deposit this morning.

I would add this to the list, but can't quite figure that out, so I am sure someone can help me out!

dklam

1/22 ??
1/23 Akerhaus Royal Banquet Hall - Princess Breakfast
1/24 ??
1/25 ??
1/26 ??

Figured that the best (and fairest) way of doing this was to have DD, DH, and myself each choose one, and then we will have to all agree on the other two. DD chose this one - although 19, she is and will always be a Disney Princess - LOL!princess:

I think they are all gross!

I think there are some good ones, but it's a bit like playing Russian Roulette.:rotfl:

Does anyone know when the discounts came out last year? And if I had already paid for the package by then would I be able to get some kind of refund? I want to get it paid off as soon as I can because after classes start income is severely cut and I will also be using some of my extra financial aid that comes in September. Although I could just put it in my savings account until January. :confused3 I guess I'll call tomorrow and bug a CM with all my questions. As excited as I am to book I'm so tired my brain is not functioning enough to deal with all that right now :sad2:

Let me suggest you to try the "Mezzo Mix" next time. It is very tasty! But maybe this is just because I am used to having this here in Germany :rotfl:...

I finally made my ADRs for the first three days:

1/03~Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic Package 4:05pm :yay:
1/04~Tony's Town Square Restaurant 6:05pm
1/05~Tusker House Buffet 3:00pm

:dance3:

We are not "planning people" so we will not make any ADRs for the remaining days until we arrive in Orlando. We are just very happy to have a plan for our first days. And the NYE crowds should hopefully be gone by the 5th.

Hi - kaos298, welcome to the board --

Do you have a Disney VISA? One of its features is that there is no interest for the first six months. I definitely don't advocate getting into debt but if you just need a little more time, that might be a temporary solution.

About the WDW discounts, Mousesavers has provided a run-down of when they have been offered since 2006. Here's the link:

http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html

Hope this helps!

CLOSE ONE.....do you think we'll actually MAKE it to Christmas morning? I am so afraid I will be the one to slip & say something in front of them.:ssst:

Got my room-only changed to a package too....we (who am I kidding; *I* decided;)) to stick with the basic ddp. Anyone know if there are other big surprises about participating restaurants, aside from DTD?

Here are my ADRs, Mama Snowbird, I don't think I've posted them yet.:)

Jan 10- ~ Tutto Italia
Jan 11 ~ CRT
Jan 12 ~ 50's Prime Time Cafe
Jan 13 ~ 1900 Park Fare
Jan 14 ~ Chef Mickey's
Jan 15 ~ Crystal Palace
Jan 16 ~ Coral Reef

Just changed my Room Only to a package! :cool1: So glad I made the RO so long ago! When I called today, the CM I spoke to said that POFQ was booked up for Standard rooms! :scared1: Anyway, we booked 10 nights, 8 day basic MYW tix and the basic DDP!

My parents are flying out for the marathon, to watch my DH run. I just learned they're planning to stay through Monday morning - figures, I already made some ADRs, thinking they'd be gone!! Now I need to call back and see if we can change them.

But, really, it'll be more fun to have them around then have them be like the ILs who refuse to go to Disney (even to watch their son run :( ). And!!! My parents aren't afraid to go off on their own. I'm pretty excited. :)
