Hello snowbirds!!! We'll be joining you Jan. 23-30th at ASMu. One Family Suite for me,dh and kids and one pref. room for my MIL. This is a surprise trip (Christmas morning reveal) for the kiddos & I can't wait!!!

Our ADRs so far: 1/24 CRT 10am, 1/27 Chef Mickey's 8:35am Lots more I'd like to do, but waiting for Oct. and doing the dining plan math.

Hi 2tinks2pirates. We'll be at ASMu Family Suite 1/19-30 and there's also DebbieandRoo who will be there 23-29. Debbie and I are talking about a quick DIS meet during that week. Hope you'll join us.:grouphug: Looks like there's a few others at the various All Stars around that time, too.

Miss Magnolia, with AAA our suite is around $157 a night, without the discount it's $184. There's not a lot of them, so I'd recommend your friends book one soon.

Good Afternoon Snowbirds!

We just got back in town from a family reunion and the first thing I did was check WDW site :woohoo: Got all the info I was after. However, disney has made me mad :headache:

If you buy the cs dining plan you get a mug!
If you buy the dxdp you get a mug!
If you buy the bddp you don't get a mug!
I truely do not understand that at all and it really bothers me. DH told me to email disney and tell them how I feel, maybe I'll just call the concierge IPO and tell them what I think, I doubt it would do any good though. B/c they included it with the cs plan they should now at this point be offering it to anyone using any type of dining plan, make it a perk/bonus for everyone to enjoy ;) It is just a mug and I won't change my plans over it  And I'll still shell out $40 for 3 new ones if I have to :thumbsup2

You're right. That doesn't make sense. All of the dining plans should offer the mug!
They're probably thinking that the regular DDP will continue to be the most popular, so they don't need to include that.
But it still stinks. We love our mugs!

I was going back and forth about an AAA room-only or booking a package and waiting for a good discount to come along at a later time to add to it.

I think we're going to go for the package. I know that DH will be so much more relaxed if he doesn't have to pull out his wallet constantly, and when he is happy, everyone is happy! :lmao:

Now.. fingers crossed for good package discounts!!

Hey Debbie. Now I know you ARE a Snowbird!!!!

Are you in a Family Suite (per your note on the other thread)? My AAA discount wasn't that much. I think it was around $27 a night (give or take a few pennies). I figured it to be 15%. My room cost is $156.40. Or are you still doing POP?

Ha -- you reminded me, I need to change my signature, so I did. Yes, I got the 156.40 per night rate. I had figured that the value rate was 184, with tax at 17%, which came to 215.28. The rate with the same tax was 176.74. That's where I got the 38.54 - I probably figured the tax all wrong on the original rate.

So, yes, we're paying the same thing. I work at a library, thankfully, and not a place where I have to count/add/subtract money....:guilty:

Yay, join the fun at the Suites and I, too, have heard that these suites go very quickly. Looks like our little thread has filled a few up already!

I think I'm in sticker shock. I got my price quote from my TA and the final total for 3 adults and 4 kids is about $4100 for the POP Century hotel standard room, DDP, and non-hopper basic tickets for 8 days. :scared1: I knew it would be that much, but I guess I'm still shocked. Now I've gotta really start prayin' for a discount code of some kind!

The rumor of adding hopper and water park options as the benefit in January doesn't do anything for me...we weren't planning on hopping or using the water parks. I'd much rather have something that will discount our stay in some other way!

Oh, well...now I gotta tell my mom the cost. I'm afraid she is going to be shocked. This doesn't even include travel!

We check in on Jan 18 :yay:

We are very happy with the $340/night (AAA) for WL club level too :woohoo: The $505 a night had a hefty price tag, now we can pocket the difference!!

Oh darn, we are going to just miss each other. We check out the 16th. I was so excited to save the extra money, now I have to find something else to spend it on!:goodvibes

Here is a list of my ADR'S:

Jan 12th 7:55am Whispering Canyon
Jan 13th 12:10pm Coral Reef
Jan 14th 2:00pm Whispering Canyon
Jan 15th 12:15pm 50's Prime Time
Jan 16th 8:05am Whispering Canyon

Nothing to exciting because we are going to try and do more activities this trip (sea raycers, horse back riding...etc)...so I wanted to keep things flexible.

Um, I don't think I'll post my ADRs because it will take up a whole page on this thread. :rolleyes1

Deluxe Dining, here we come!!!! :cool1:

Is that just for the one room or both? How old are your kids? That dining plan can add up if they're over 9. Sorry about the price, that would shock me as well. Just keep thinking good thoughts, you've waited a long time for this trip!

:goodvibes Good morning Snowbirds! :goodvibes

Off to swimming lessons this morning. I will check back in later and update that ever growing Snowbirds list!! :cool1:

Posted this on another thread, but will add here:

My AAA agent just called me and told me that both the CSR (our first choice) and POFQ were all booked for the 5 days in January that we are going.

They told her that POR and CBR were available and suggested that we take one of these now and she will continue to try to get us into the CSR. She was even skeptical and the only explanation she could give was that because CSR was a convention hotel, it may be booked for groups. She has never seen this before, and has been doing our Disney trips since the early 90's. I told her to go with POR for now - don't want to stay at CBR.

I really hope we can get into CSR - we were all starting to get excited about staying there.................

Wow. That's really surprising!
I'm sure you'll be able to get in there at a later time, though. People cancel and change their minds all the time. Good luck! :wizard:

Quick question about AAA. I have it, but I've never used them to book anything (I like doing that all myself because I'm neurotic like that  )
Anyway- if you book a package through them, do you get a AAA discount on the room portion of it?
And then regular prices for tix and dining?

We're also not interested in the free hopper/water park add-ons that disney might give later.

DH and I are joining you. WE are going Jan 22-26th and staying at Pop. Never been in Jan but have done Dec and Feb.

It includes 2 rooms at the standard rate. All my kids are under 10! I don't think we'd be doing dining if they were over.

I just have to figure out how to break the news to my mom. She's footing the bill!:lmao:

I think AAA gives a room discount only. Then if Disney offers free park hoppers and such you have to choose which offer is best for you. I don't think you can have the AAA discount and then get another discount on top of that from Disney. That's what I've heard anyway!

You are right Shelly.... you can't double dip.... i tried last year and i was told NO.... it's either the AAA discount or the offer they give.....
