No TR but I can tell you it was incredible! It was actually my first race of any kind. I used to run quite a bit but then I had kids and you know how that goes! So, I signed up for the half so I could use it for inspiration and so I could convince DH to go back to Disney (how could he say no to me running a 1/2 marathon!)! All of the other runners/walkers and volunteers were extremely encouraging and friendly. The course itself is relatively flat and it goes by quickly because there is so much going on; there are DJs, bands, choirs, crowds, etc. along the entire route. Any other questions let me know!

We are going from 1/8 - 1/16. I'll have to get our list of ADRs so we can be added to the list!

Got you added! What about Chef Mickey's? You can book that one now and think about it and maybe change it later when you are allowed to book the rest (although I would keep it, it's great!). Just a thought!

That's cool that you have your original set....I don't have mine from my childhood, but between my dds and I, we have 3 sets of the ones with the gingham border. Have you seen the brand-new set? They're awful......NO ILLUSTRATIONS at all, and the covers have real-life photos that do not look at all "Little House-ish"

No, I haven't. I can't believe they removed the Garth Williams illustrations! Say it ain't so! I'm doubly glad now that I kept my set.

I remember when the TV show came out. I was so excited. It was okay but of course wasn't as good as the books- especially because they mixed the books up and didn't travel at all. I still watched the show though.

Packing for Disney?

I've already starting putting special Disney things away in a quiet corner of my bedroom - like all the Disney shirts I've bought on ebay, for example!

This trip, we'll have a big packing dilemma though. We're going to New York first, which will be snowy and freezing, then down to Miami, Florida Keys, and Orlando, which hopefully won't be snowy! It might still be a bit cold, but hopefully not ear-muffs cold! So we'll be packing a bit of everything!

I have too. I have a basket that has our t-shirts, lanyards and pins in it.

It is hard to pack for all sorts of weather. Winter coats take up such a lot of room!

I will probably start packing as soon as we are no longer wearing summer-type clothing (although in January, some sweatshirts/jeans need to be included).

I do have the WDW stuff set aside (lanyards, etc.)

Nobody in my family knew what they want so we decided to just do CS's while at the parks but i'm DEF doing that one with my DD. I missed that one in May...

Are any of the Snowbirds trying to lose weight before their trip?

I am! I'd like to lose 25lbs. before we go. Last year I lost 40lbs. in 6 months before we left and have kept it off. Anyone else?

Answer of the Day:

YES! I'm actually starting my walking (and eventually running) program today, which is 25 weeks before we'll be at the World! I've picked up some really bad habits and it's time to be in control again.

Congrats on not only your loss but your maintenance. In my experience, it's much harder to keep the weight off than to lose it!
