January 2005 List

:D
DH and I are doing our traditional second week of Jan trip. Staying at the Villas at WL ( I love it there in Jan) Jan 8-15.
I'm packing gloves and a heavy jacket, jeans and some short sleeve shirts and long sleeve shirts. I used them all last year, but not on the same day!
For the first time, in all our 14 WDW trips, last year in Jan we really had a laid back trip, sleeping in till 9am and not getting to the parks until 11am. Slowly taking in our favs and lots of lesiurely meals. Went to Jellyrolls alot and hit the sack around midnight most nights.
Can't wait to repeat that!
By the way, the second week of Jan is usually the coldest week of the year in the US.
I like to spend it in WDW! I figure if it's cold there, think what it must be back home;)

We (myself, DH. DD8, DS5, and DD16 months) will be there from Jan 23-30. We were going to stay inside the world but my wonderful mom gave us a week of her time share for the West Gate Villas for mine and DH's birthdays. It is only one mile outside of disney and we have never stayed onsite so we don't really know what we are missing. This is our first ever family vacation. It is a reward to ourselves for working so hard and paying off all of our credit cards.:cool1: WOOOHOOO!!! NO MORE DEBT!!:cool1: It is such a great feeling! I am looking forward to making my PS's in the next couple weeks. You would think that we were leaving next week because I have already started packing. We drove by the airport the other day and i could see the twinkle in my own eye because I know that it is finally our turn. We have watched so many other people go on vacations, and now it is our turn. We decided a couple months ago that we were going to WDW and I was so excited that I cried. Now if only I could get my DH as excited as I am......

P.S. Sorry for babbling on and on... I am a SAHM and I haven't had much adult conversation lately...DH has been working late this week so it has been just me and the kiddies. They are starting to drive me insane!

Have a Disney Day!!
:earsboy: :earsgirl: princess: pirate: :cutie:

As my counter indicates, I'm going down with the WHOLE family...and when I say whole family, I mean 14 of us! We'll be down there from Jan. 1-8, staying at the Pop Century! Should be a very exciting trip.

Oh, and we're from Maine, so anything in the positive temperatures during January is just fine with us!:sunny:

We'll be at WDW January 12 - 21. It's our first trip, so we're really excited!

We are going to WDW January 6-11th staying at the Coronado Springs. I'm running in the marathon and cannot wait.

Hi... my husband and I are taking our 2 kids (2 and 4) down January 5-9. We are staying at the CBR.
Can someone please tell me about this marathon?
When does it start and end? And where is it held?
Thanks in advance.

:D

My DD, friend and her DD, and I will be going Jan. 16 -21 and staying at BWV. It will by my friend's and her DD's first trip. My DD (3 yrs. old) has been to MK for a quick 1 day pit stop so this will be her first real WDW experience. Can't Wait! :hyper:

We'll be there Jan 18-29, hope they are wrong about the cold winter. But will be warmer than up north, for sure! See you there!

The marathon and 1/2 marathon begin together at 6:00 a.m. at Epcot. It circles through Epcot and heads to the MK. After the MK the 1/2 marathoners finish in the MK parking lot. They will all be done by 9:30. The marathoners continue to MGM studios and AK, then they head back to Epcot for a finish. They will all be done by noon. The monorails tend to be crowded in the early morning as the 1/2 marathoners finish and head back to their resorts. Otherwise, you won't notice crowds or problems. We went to Epcot for lunch last year at 11:00 on the day of the marathon and the CMs had crowd control very well handled. You are still able to get where you need to go without a hold up. The parks are pretty empty that week, too, so it is a great week to go. Have fun!

Hi Tinks,
Thanks for the information! I was really begining to wonder if I made a mistake going that week. It sounds as though we will be fine.
:)
Thanks again!

Bump! BTW don't like the sound of El Nino weather, even if I am from the UK. (anything is drier/warmer than here)
Claire

Will be there with dh and 5 of our kids last week of January for Lotusphere. Staying at Cypress Point Resort off-site.

Our "Magical Gathering" will be there 1-2 through 1-7, at POR... 11 strong!-- my wife and I, daughters 11 and 4, son 8, Grandma, my bro, and our best friends and their 2 kids.

I'll be there for the (half) marathon, if my ankle holds up.

Len

If it's only a half marathon then you should be ok only using one ankle, your good one! ;)

I'll be at WDW with my 11yo. Not sure of the dates--probably Jan 21-25, but first need to discuss with his teachers to make sure he's not missing any finals the two days of school he'll be gone (it's the end of the marking period).

Wow DougG, I'll just look for a tribe walking through the MK!
