I thought all the cruise documents would go to my mom, but UPS dropped off an envelope from DCL to me today!

Documents came on Thursday, I thought there would be more. It's getting about time to start packing now. My 7 yr old son is pretty excited for the "Jumbo" jet and the Disney thing. See ya'll there. pirate:

SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!!!! :)

I still haven't received mine, but I had dinner with my parents last night and they go theirs. Not impressed, no wonder we don't need them until now...should have expected it since the WDW docs aren't much better. I always get more out of reading the boards and checking All Ears and Passporter.com!

I am camping this weekend (it is 32 degrees in IL) and after I get through this weekend I will concentrate on the cruise packing!

My parents just got back from a Christmas trip to WDW and brought back some Pirate gear for my DH!!! FUN!

My mom and I will be very un-pirate-like on this cruise. Maybe I'll be inspired to do better on the next one! :)

Still no snow on the ground here in central IL. I checked the 10-day forecast - although how accurate that is, who knows. They're talking about a "few snow showers" next week, but next weekend looks pretty clear.

Can you believe it? One week from today we'll already be in Florida! Its been crazy at work this week and its making me look forward to the vacation even more.

So our cruise docs didn't arrive until Wednesday UPS. Kids had been racing to the mailbox every day and then we discovered them on the front porch by accident. We've all been admiring the luggage tags. I'm ready to finalize the packing after I finish laundry this weekend. :laundy: mmps108 the excel packing list has been great - thanks again.

Locoexw - my son will play with any toys -it will be nice to have other kids as a distraction on the way home.

Ariel's Mom - I told my 10 yr old dd that I read that there is an 8yr old girl from the boards going on our cruise- so now she's not quite as reluctant to go to the labs. I can hope right?

I've just been reading about cabin door magnets and something called fish extenders? but haven't found the thread yeat that shows pictures. Anyone familiar with that?

Is anyone else planning to book their next cruise while on this one? Has anyone ever done that before? The Cruise Do's and Don'ts I saw on the travel channel last sunday highly recommended booking while on the ship to save money on the next one.

I booked another 4-night for Dec. 2009 online, but since the price hasn't gone up, I plan to cancel and rebook onboard. I'm also considering booking a 7-night western for Jan. 2009 while onboard.

Hi dustermom02,

My dd was excited to hear about your daughter--my ds (10 yrs old) was a little jealous--now he is looking for a guy to hang with. DD loves Webkinz, HSM, etc.

There is a thread about door magnets on the "Disney Cruise Line Forum" it usually stays up near the first page or two. People do an amazing job with their doors! Also I think there is one about fish extenders. To see a great example you can also look at the January 24 Cruise Meet thread for Momx4GrandmaX4 's extender.

Have people on this thread talked about using extenders to share goodies?:)

Wish I had my docs, but not yet.

I was worried about packing, but then my DBF got the flu! So, now I'm worried about him being sick and getting me sick. We're leaving on Weds, so I've quarantined him in the bedroom until then. Now I have to do the packing all by myself.

I figured I'd make packing easier by making detailed lists of what will go in each bag. I have managed to put off packing all day by working on the list! And figuring out how to make the most of our single day visiting Epcot/Studios.

Also, I woke up yesterday WAY sick. Thought for sure that it would last up to and through my vacation. But this morning I was better!

Oh, and my docs came Friday.

Just found this thread.
Haven't started packing.
Got cruise docs on Fri.
Travel agent called on Fri pm and said that Disney called and had an offer for us. They had oversold our cat. We had a Cat. 8 Dlx. Stateroom with a porthole. They were offering a Cat. 10 Dlx Inside Stateroom with splitbath. They would give us $846 back and give us a $200 on board credit. This is our first time cruising so we won't know the difference anyway, we took the offer. I hope we don't regret it!:scared:

Welcome, MAGICX2! That's a pretty decent offer to downgrade, I think. We're in a handicap-accessible cat. 6 cabin, and my mom would have a fit if they tried to move us elsewhere.

I'll start thinking about what to pack tomorrow, but probably won't actually start packing until Thursday (leaving Friday).

We are also on this cruise. This is a first for us, but the group we are with is around 30. I am so excited!!!:woohoo:

Is anyone else worried that it's going to rain during our trip?

We are VERY excited about this trip. (Me, DW, DD (9), DS(almost 7) and DD (1.5).

However, both Accuweather and Weather.com forecast some rain in the Bahamas and Cape Canaveral 1/20 through 1/24. :sad2: It's also might be a little chilly for swimming. We live in So Cal and it's 75 and sunny here. I am thinking about stopping at Ron Jon's in Cocoa Beach and buying a couple of kids spring wetsuits just in case. I understand the water in the Bahamas is a little warmer than it is here, but better to be safe than sorry.

Welcome iluvdisney10 and the bruin family! We're getting a good sized group here if you start adding us all up. I can't wait. I've got the suitcases packed and lined up around the room. I don't have that minimalist packing idea down however and they're starting to bulge as I keep thinking of other things to add.

Bruin family - our oldest are almost the same. dd10 and ds7. i'm hoping to send them to the lab to play every evening since we have the late dinner seating and I'm sure they won't make it that late. I've been most concerned about the 10 yr old who can be very shy but it sounds like we have quite a few girls now so it should be fine. I am bringing wet suits for the kids. We swam with out them last year at castaway cay at this time but it was a bit chilly.

arieltoo i still can't find the fish extender picture though i did find momx4gramx4 I haven't had much time to check though. i'll try again.

seattle girl - you guys doing better?? I hope!

DBF appears to be recovering well. I'm afraid we may skip our first day in the parks (or just take it real slow) so he doesn't get worn down. Still crossing my fingers that I don't catch whatever he has!

Good luck packing, everyone.:woohoo:

SeattleGirl - glad your boyfriend is on the mend.

My husband was supposed to fly to Puerto Rico on business today, but he is sick and cancelled his trip. He has stayed in bed all day, and I hope whatever he has stays far away from me!

Bruin Family - my oldest daughter and I cruised out of LA in mid-March 2006, and it was kind of a chilly cruise. We spent the weekend prior at Disneyland, and it was rainy, with highs only in the 50's. My husband joked that it was warmer at home in Illinois! I thought about doing another spring break cruise out of LA with my son this March, but opted for something warmer out of San Juan instead!

**Shall we meet at 3:00 Sunday at the Mickey pool? And if it's raining - the closest inside place near the Mickey pool?

:cheer2: I have been reading and everyone sounds like they are having the same DCL excitment and anxiety about packing! This will be my family's third DC, first time land/sea. My oldest ds is 9 and little boy is 5, so I will probably see some of you guys at the club/lab. It is snowing here in Chicagoland and expect flurries until we leave Thurs. a.m. I too have checked the weather, and it appears to be cooler, but better than 10 degrees here. Can't wait! I wish everyone safe travel to the port!!

Welcome to the thread!! We live in Ottawa, IL and will be flying out Saturday AM! I am so excited to leave the 8 degree weather behind!!!

As I mentioned in a previous post I started weight watchers in hopes of looking better in my swim suit...I've lost 6.4 lbs in 2 weeks!!
