:yay: Can't sleep-too excited! We were finally assigned a cabin # yesterday and I hope it is a good spot. Unfortunately it is right by the elevators- but it is mid ship. I really won't be in my cabin much anyway-there is too much to do. I hope everyone arrives at port safe and sound. Even if the weather is cool, it will sure beat the frozen mid west. We leave for O'Hare in 2 hrs and I am going to sleep on the plane. See you soon!!

I have officially procrastinated and I am going to start packing today...ugh!

I have a question for all the guys out there...are you bringing a jacket for "dress up" night? We are not eating at Palo for dinner, just brunch. I've seen mixed messages about jackets for the dress up night though...HELP!!! Please!!!

I am also going to start packing today...and hopefully finishing, too! We have a light dusting of snow, and it doesn't appear to have affected flights leaving here this a.m., so hopefully mine will be fine tomorrow morning.

It looks like the temperature forecast for Sunday at the port is lower (high of 57) but the chance of rain is also less - 10%! Guess we can still meet outdoors by the Mickey Pool at 3 - if anyone shows up. I'll be easy to spot on the ship - I'll be accompanying my mom, who will be in an electric wheelchair.

mmps108- if I miss you on Sunday - I'll see you on the Nassau bus tour on Monday morning! :)

Good morning! We have snow in Fredericksburg VA today--it is sticking to the roads--will the kiddos come home early? We are south of DC so our snow is often wet and short li:cheer2: ved. We leave Saturday AM.

Watching the Port weather also, I think the kids will not need to wear their suits under their clothes, this time. Cooler air is better than rain in my book for sail away day!

We had snow today too! Just a couple inches. It still took me about 1.5 hrs to drive home from work. The kids were already out of school 2 hrs early b/c of testing so they had plenty of time to play. Its a wet snow so they were soaked to the skin. They came in commenting that in just a few days they'll be in bathing suits and not freezing... :cool1: So they will probably be IN the mickey pool at 3pm Sunday unless there is lightening or the pool is closed.

Nancy we'll look for you and your mom. I was trying to figure out how to get a helium balloon to identify us. But then I couldn't figure out where to get it before we got on the ship and then somehow not let one of the kids accidentally release it. Your plan works MUCH better.

About mens clothing -My husband packed a suit and tie to wear to the dinner monday night and to dinner at Palos. We're going to brunch at Palo's also and he has sort of a "short sleeve black shirt no collar" packed for that. Did I mention this trip is for the adults and the kids will be on their own for a couple meals? Our first cruise we went on a 3 day cruise and Palos was booked so we didn't get to go at all. (Probably b/c of people like me trying to make up for last time. Sorry!)

We seem to be packed. We leave tomorrow at 1pm. Now I will go into super cleaning frenzy mode b/c I hate coming home to a messy house.

C you real soon!!!

Nancy - I forgot to mention the bus tour - If its the same one we did a while ago it wasn't just one huge bus, it was a bunch of little vans that seat about 10 so you might want to meet up ahead of time and ask to be on the same van.

And also I forgot to mention my dad was offered a downgrade too 2 nights ago, but it was not as good as magicx2's. That sounded great to me! I've never heard of that before.

I am packed, except for toiletries, and those get put in their 1 qt. bag at the last minute any way.

I'm watching the flights from Chicago to our airport this evening, because those are the planes that will be flying back to Chicago tomorrow morning. Several of them are delayed leaving Chicago tonight. Just so they get here! I have almost 3 hours between planes tomorrow in Chicago, so my flight can be delayed a bit when I leave here in the morning. I'm wearing winter clothes on the plane, but have FL clothes to change into when I arrive in Orlando. :)

I found my white and lime green DIS lanyard with my name on it - so you should be able to figure out who I am!

Nancy - would your mom be uncomfortable if we know her name? Otherwise we'll be calling 'Yo- Nancy's mom!"

I think Nancy already left for FL but...

I'm mmps108 because my husband and I have the same initials (MPS) and our wedding date is 10/8. Our names are Megan and Matt.
See you soon!!!

Hi Arieltoo here, I am Mary Lee and a redhead--hence the board name! Hope to see everyone very soon. We will spend tomorrow driving south--in rain all day!

I hope everyone had a great time. I don't think I met any of you on the cruise. I just hope that none of you is the family who shunned us at breakfast (our only non-magical moment). And boy, those seas on the first night were rough!

Oh cruel reality....We are stll recovering from vacation withdrawl. My ds said last night,"mom, what is on the menu for dinner?" I have finally finished a weeks worth of laundry, and got called in to work this evening. The weather was not ideal the first night, and my oldest fell victim to the rough seas. He rallied the next day and was soon back in the lab playing. I can't say enough how wonderful the crew was on the ship. They made us feel so special. It made up for 2 non-magical days at the parks. We really want our 4th DCL to be the 7 day Western, now I just need to start saving. Welcome home everyone!

At dinner tonight (Sunday) we remembered the rocky ship last Sunday 1/20, but still wished we were back on board! We went to Atlantis on the rainy Monday, so not so successful weather-wise, but we were glad to see the resort.
It's a lovely place, but it's just not Disney! Not as clean, and the staff/workers not as friendly or knowledgeable.
But Tuesday at CC and Wednesday on the ship were everything we could have wanted on a cruise!
We all (five families, 15 of us) had a great time!

Yep, reality is harsh!

We got back this morning and made a bee line for the night time pediatrics. Turns out DD10 has walking pneumonia. I feel like she was fine all the way up until thursday. she was fine at cc when she spent over 2 hrs snorkling and another hour bike riding. She wasn't quite up to par thursday 1pm on, but I just figured she was getting sad about leaving. (bad mommy!) But things hit in 3s. My 22 mo old niece got to see the ships doc for an ear infection. The doc was so helpful and my sister only had good things to say. Then last thurs by 6pm after getting off the boat my dh was hit by a horrible intestinal bug. We have no idea where he got it from and the rest of us were fine. He's the only one that hit the late night buffet at Rt 66 the last night so maybe there? Did anyone else have problems when they left the ship?

We were all ok the first night with the waves though I wasn't expecting anything that rough.

I agree disney does a better job than anyone - including atlantis. Glad we saw it but it's just not the same. Got stuck in the rain and caught a cab back b/c there was a mob scene when we wanted to catch the disney van back and my dad didn't have the patience to wait. It worked out fine though.

I got to do so many things on my cruise "to-do" list and was really excited about it. We got pillow cases signed by all the characters for the kids and I got a t-shirt signed for me, I tried every drink of the day but 1, I got to try out the rainforest steam room, saw Enchanted, hit the adults hot tub, got the captains autograph, met a couple of ya'll from the board(I've got a picture with Nancy to prove it), made a towel monkey, got a beautiful picture of my family on the white background, fed a sting ray, snorkeled, ordered room service (I never did that before in my life), and booked a 7 day eastern for t-giving 2009. So that means I'll still be able to finish my to-do list in 22months 2 weeks and 5 days... I never did a wine tasting, sang kareoke (sp?), got a picture of my daughter with Snow White & Aurora, (were they even on the ship?), missed the castaway party and I missed the last show Dreams even though they showed it twice. But seriously it was a very satisfying vacation and we were soooo sad to see it end.

Oh my gosh - did anyone else know it cost $35 to play one card of bingo? I walked down with 4 kids thinking they could all play and was completely horrified. I just couldn't drop $140 for bingo! Is that normal?

Oh yeah - And I got to do laundry on a ship. (I'm mental. I just adore laundry and run at least 2 loads a day with my family so I was really suffering laundry withdrawl by Thursday). Still I packed so much that I didn't use, you just never know what to expect with the weather.

I also got to call maintenance for our clogged shower and they were FAST! I wanted to bring him home with me, I have a few projects here...

We did not snub anyone at breakfast. So sorry for that. Some people are just unpleasant no matter where they are.

Locoexw - I hope your dh was not the one that my dh saw pitch a fit over a forgotten bag at the auto train on the way home. We met several families on the train that had just gotten of the 7 day eastern but we didn't meet anyone from our 4 day.

I know its silly to ask, but did anyone find a blue and white cotton baby blanket with the alphabet on it or a gray zippered sweat shirt? I'll be calling lost and found tomorrow to check. Even Disney lost and found was great. We lost a camera and they found that already.

Ah well, back to the serious reality of work tomorrow. I'll be taking all my pictures to show around though.

Hi there

Well we are back in the UK. Sorry we didn't meet up with anyone, I expect we English stood out like a sore thumb. I think there was only one other family on the ship from the UK!! So if we didn't see you, you probably saw us!

Having cruised before, it was good to see the ship and we were really impressed, the cabins are the best we have ever stayed in and our room was spotless.

The food was great too, but I just can't believe the size of the portions in the US, how do you guys eat all that food?

I must say I was disappointed in the Hercules show, and although the comedian was funny, not really for kids, but Wishes and dreams were fantastic.

The kids club was probably the most secure we have encountered on 13 cruises, Disney really know the way to go about things.

We just want the ship to come to the Med. again and we will be there!!

Hope you all had a safe journey home.

Kate

P.S. We didn't 'snub' anyone, at least not intentionally!!!!
