Yep, reality is harsh!
We got back this morning and made a bee line for the night time pediatrics. Turns out DD10 has walking pneumonia. I feel like she was fine all the way up until thursday. she was fine at cc when she spent over 2 hrs snorkling and another hour bike riding. She wasn't quite up to par thursday 1pm on, but I just figured she was getting sad about leaving. (bad mommy!) But things hit in 3s. My 22 mo old niece got to see the ships doc for an ear infection. The doc was so helpful and my sister only had good things to say. Then last thurs by 6pm after getting off the boat my dh was hit by a horrible intestinal bug. We have no idea where he got it from and the rest of us were fine. He's the only one that hit the late night buffet at Rt 66 the last night so maybe there? Did anyone else have problems when they left the ship?
We were all ok the first night with the waves though I wasn't expecting anything that rough.
I agree disney does a better job than anyone - including atlantis. Glad we saw it but it's just not the same. Got stuck in the rain and caught a cab back b/c there was a mob scene when we wanted to catch the disney van back and my dad didn't have the patience to wait. It worked out fine though.
I got to do so many things on my cruise "to-do" list and was really excited about it. We got pillow cases signed by all the characters for the kids and I got a t-shirt signed for me, I tried every drink of the day but 1, I got to try out the rainforest steam room, saw Enchanted, hit the adults hot tub, got the captains autograph, met a couple of ya'll from the board(I've got a picture with Nancy to prove it), made a towel monkey, got a beautiful picture of my family on the white background, fed a sting ray, snorkeled, ordered room service (I never did that before in my life), and booked a 7 day eastern for t-giving 2009. So that means I'll still be able to finish my to-do list in 22months 2 weeks and 5 days... I never did a wine tasting, sang kareoke (sp?), got a picture of my daughter with Snow White & Aurora, (were they even on the ship?), missed the castaway party and I missed the last show Dreams even though they showed it twice. But seriously it was a very satisfying vacation and we were soooo sad to see it end.
Oh my gosh - did anyone else know it cost $35 to play one card of bingo? I walked down with 4 kids thinking they could all play and was completely horrified. I just couldn't drop $140 for bingo! Is that normal?
Oh yeah - And I got to do laundry on a ship. (I'm mental. I just adore laundry and run at least 2 loads a day with my family so I was really suffering laundry withdrawl by Thursday). Still I packed so much that I didn't use, you just never know what to expect with the weather.
I also got to call maintenance for our clogged shower and they were FAST! I wanted to bring him home with me, I have a few projects here...
We did not snub anyone at breakfast. So sorry for that. Some people are just unpleasant no matter where they are.
Locoexw - I hope your dh was not the one that my dh saw pitch a fit over a forgotten bag at the auto train on the way home. We met several families on the train that had just gotten of the 7 day eastern but we didn't meet anyone from our 4 day.
I know its silly to ask, but did anyone find a blue and white cotton baby blanket with the alphabet on it or a gray zippered sweat shirt? I'll be calling lost and found tomorrow to check. Even Disney lost and found was great. We lost a camera and they found that already.
Ah well, back to the serious reality of work tomorrow. I'll be taking all my pictures to show around though.
