January 19, 2013 - FANTASY 7 Night Western Cruise

Should we bow down and worship! :)

I have things set out all over the place but am no where NEAR ready to start putting bags together. Maybe this week I will find the motivation. I am trying to plan a birthday party for our little guy, turns 5 next week and finished our FE gifts. At least the kids gifts are done, need to finish cabin gifts but we have been so darn busy! :(

I think it was relatively easy for me because I won't use any of the clothes I'll cruise in in the next week and a half. But I wanted to make sure I could get everything in a carry-on, so I was extra motivated. :D

Happy Birthday to him! I don't envy how busy you'll be in the coming week!

10 days until I leave and I finally have the FE gifts done!!

And my biggest accomplishment:with the sole exception of toiletries, I'm completely packed. :woohoo:

I am SO ready for this cruise!!!!!!!

One thing I can guarentee is that I/we won't pack until the night before... It's a tradition! LOL Too much business travel! :cool1:

That would typically be me. But I think I just needed to be done with as much as humanly possible at this point so that when the 17th comes, I can wake up at my normal time, toss the toiletries in, head to work and then directly to the airport without worry. :goodvibes

Called Disney last night to inquire about booking for friends who were thinking of joining us. The ship is completely sold out!!

Check back today! My in-laws vacated 10568 and got a concierge room. They have been waiting for a while to get upgraded and finally got the call that a room was available! :)

H&J (jeisur (2)) Are now in 12004 not 10568.

This change will be reflected on the list delivered to your staterooms the first day. I am not sending out updates at this point.

Can you please put a star next to each of the names on the list that have changed since you sent the last one? That would make it so much easier once onboard for me to just scan it and modify the ones that need modifying rather than comparing the entire list. I have already made up my FE bags which are specific to each stateroom so mine are already marked and sorted according to location off the current list--if the new list you will be giving us onboard can just mark the ones I need to make note of that changed, it would be very helpful.

They will be noted dont worry! As it is now I am highlighting changes in yellow and denoting what changed. Ill make it as user friendly as possible! :)

If anyone is interested I am proposing a few meetups:

1) first ships tour... Usually apx 1-2pm on boarding day

2) somewhere (help me decide??) for the sail away party?! Suggestions? We like to eve to the people as we pull out. Someplace on the starboard side (oddly that is the right side of the ship facing forward). Maybe the deck above the pools? Midship or aft? Let me know?

Are you staying in Orlando that night or heading right out to Port Canaveral? We are landing at 5:30ish on the 18th and we plan to go to dinner at Downtown Disney area and then go ahead and drive out to Port Canaveral. We have a hotel close to the port so in the morning, it will just be wake-up, hotel breakfast then turn in the rental and shuttle to the terminal! So excited :yay:

We are staying at the comfort inn in Cocoa Beach friday night. They have a "snooze and cruise"package so they'll pick us up at the airport friday evening, get us to the hotel, then over to the port on saturday. We have a 12:30 PAT ( booked late, first timers, didn't know to jump on finishing the online reg to get aerlier) so we'replanning on taking the kids to the beach for a bit after breakfast before cleaning up and going to port. I'm doing my best NOT to be in the rush to relax plan.
After we disembark they're actually bringing us back to the hotel so we can drag out a few hours at the beach or pool before heading to the airport for our late afternoon flight. I think it'll work out pretty well.

SO excited to get going!

Just posted in anotthe thread about this one and figured I'd ask here- is anyone planning on running the 5k they offer on castaway cay? it's first thing in the AM after they let us get on the island. You get a race number, a marked course past the observation tower and on the airstrip, and potentially a medal when you finish ( if they have medals, this part of the experience seems inconsistent, but if they have them on board, every finisher gets one). A good way to balance out all ofthe mickey bars ( or one oft hem, anyway) and a good way to see a apart of the island.

I'm not very fast ( 10 minute mile, perhaps) and would love company since I think my DH will have kid patrol while I'm running. I'd planned to have him run with me but the logistics of babysitting seem tricky, whether on board or on island etc.

no need to commit now, you don't have to sign up in advance, but when you see it in your navigator, know that my smiling face will be at the starting line, waiting for you. I'll be in a black T shirt that says "running princess" on it (got it at the wine and dine half in november):cheer2:

hope to see some of you there!

Awesome! We have a 12:30 PAT too, but we'll probably get there around 1130ish and hope to board earlier. I know that's not how it's supposed to work, but with turning in the rental, we have to get there at the mercy of the rental shuttle. I have all my stuff booked, but your hotel package sounds interesting, so I might check it out and see about switching if it saves me $$.

Most of the hotels in cocoa have a shuttle to the port. We are heading over on Friday morning to play in the Atlantic waves for the day and go to Ron Jon surf shop. We drive our own car but have asked about the shuttles and they arent badly priced even if you drive. they charge less to leave your car at the hotel than the port. We get to the parking garage at about 10:30 after a breakfast from Publix! They won't take luggage that early all the time but we usually snag a bellhop assisting others to the parking garage and they will take our bags. It's always worked our great for us.

Here are the finals. feel free to add more!!!

1) 1pm at the "walking ship tour" ... obviously many people wont be ont he ship by this time so come if you can! :)

2) Sailing Away party (check your navigator for time but it should be right after the lifeboat safety drill). The dance party thing is on deck 11 on the stage by the Donald pool. But we are meeting one deck up of 12! We will meet on the starboard side (that will be the side facing the terminal at the time) along the railings just above the sail away stage show.

I will be there with our gang of 7 people. We have two long haired boys. Our littlest's hair is SUPER long, blond/light brown and curly. Our kids will be the unruly ones (just kidding). My husband, David, has long hair as well and it is pulled back in a pony tail.

Hopefully we are easy to find. We stick out like sore thumbs! :) Buncha hippies!

Starting to get a bit itchy with excitement here. The kids are in non stop "mickey ship" talk ! :) Kind of making it hard to get our schooling done here. But whatever they dont get done before we travel they have to bring with them so there is a HUGE incentive to stay on track!

Tell me about getting jumpy! I can hardly focus at work... NOT GOOD! :rotfl2:

Ummm it's 86F here in central Florida today! Why?

That sounds comfy! It's freezing up here in PA... I woke up to 19... Although it's been warming up as the week goes on...

I do see long range Florida's getting ready to hit 60 degree high's when a cold front passes through late next week... I always bring what I consider to be "cold" weather to Florida.... HAHA I rode the flume ride last year and I could see my breath... My wife was standing around snapping pictures because there were no other riders... I think I was the last before they closed her down as the temps dipped into the low 30's... Good times! :thumbsup2

Please bring the colder temps with you! Please!!!! I am dying here. Kids haven't touched their "winter clothing". Hoping at least mornings and evenings will be brisk on the boat!

It hit 88!

Can't believe we leave to start our adventure in exactly one week!
Think it might be a good idea to start packing!!

Laurie...we are trying to escape the cold! Lol. I'm jealous of you year round summer dwellers. Last year it was chilly on our way out of Port Canaveral and the water was freezing at every port although the air temps were ok. I'm good with low 70's, but please...I beg you, no colder!

:yay:

Hhas anyone cruised in January before? I am trying to determine what to pack for the days at sea.
