January 19,2008 / Eastern Magic / "The January Thaw Cruise"

Julie, we are Pat's fans too and I am planning on wearing a Pat shirt for the 80's night. I wore it in high school and pull it out everythime they are in the superbowl. It is a little tight now;) but still wearable.

Cheryl,
I'll wear my Superbowl XXXI shirt, (the one where we beat the Pats):lmao: :rotfl:

Brett

Maybe I need to bring my Eagles jersey????

NAH....no need for that...:lmao: :rotfl: :happytv:

I will wear my DH's tortured Philly Fan shirt instead...

Does anyone know if they'll show the conference championship gamees on the big screen on Sunday? I'm looking forward to watching my Giants beat someone (hopefully Dallas) on their way back to the Superbowl. :happytv:

Ok, So I've been a slacker keeping up with this thread. I think I'm still in denial we actually get to go!

OUr kids still don't know about the cruise. And my 10 year old dd is getting a bit suspicious. Last night I busted her checking through the computer history. :scared1: No!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate it when my surprises are ruined.

We plan for them to find out on October 19th with a Treasure Hutn complete with a buried chest at the end down at the beach. Fingers crossed for the perfect surprise.

We've been waiting all this time to let the grandparents tell them. Since they are, you know, PAYING for this whole shin dig. ;)

Speaking of kids... Tori is 10 (she'll be 11 days after the cruise), TJ is 7 & and Tommy is 5. Anyone have any kiddos close to the same age? We will have some built in playmates with cousins on board (7,5 and 4) but I know my dd especially would love to meet a new friend.

I'm attempting to convince dh it would be fun to do a DIS meet. He's skeptical at best right now. Totally balked at the whole fish extender mails thing. I'm working on him.

What does everyone have planned for Port Days?

I know most of our group plans to do Coral World and the Beach in St T, but I'm still clueless about what we'll do in St M. Clueless I say. I'm thinking beach day... but I'm a beach day kinda girl and I need to see what everyone else wants to do.

Oh, and passports. Ga, I'm cheap. I saw they changed the REQUIRED date to have them to 1/31/08. I know, I know, we should have them to be safe. But at the tune of over $400 that I was expecting to spend... it's tempting not to get them.

Tell me to suck it up and get them already!

And one last rambling question. I'm driving in from Alabama. Don't we have another resident AL guy on board? So we have no transfer issues. But the other 4 familes will be flying in. THAT day. Ack.

Any personal reccomendatsion on car services? I think they can do two groups (4 and 7).

Look forward to hopefully meeting everyone.

Hey all:

We are an Ohio family also cruising on the Jan. 19, 2008 Eastern voyage. This will be my wife and I's 10th cruise (3rd with Disney). We are surprising our 3 kids with the trip. My boys will be 10 and 9 and my daughter will be 7. My 9 year olds birthday is actually the day we set sail. My mother-in-law (she is turning 65 while on the cruise) and sister-in-law will also be going.
Disney does a fabulous job for families.

They are especially accommodating when one is held hostage on a tender boat in Grand Cayman for an hour - but I will save that story for whomover wants to hear it on the ship.

Hope to meet all of you in January.

Michael and Mindi and family.

We will be going around St. Maarten. Spending a little time on Front St., a little time watching planes land in Maho, and a little time at the pool at our timeshare in Simpson Bay. We are lucky enough to be going in November for a week to St. Maarten so we can give a report back for everyone...

And one last rambling question. I'm driving in from Alabama. Don't we have another resident AL guy on board?

We are driving to Port Canaveral from Chelsea (B'ham area) and will be staying at the Country Inn & Suites the night before the cruise. We've found that heading down 280 to Columbus, GA, then over to catch I-75 at Tifton is the fastest way for us to go. Look forward to meeting you.

Roll Tide...

We were held hostage by DCL on a hot bus for over 2 hours with no bathroom! Top that! And we still come back for more year after year.....What is it about that mouse that he has the power? :scared1:

We have a 9 year old Buckeye son too on this cruise! I even know where Barberton is and have been there! Now that's a small world.

Welcome aboard! :goodvibes

Good mornning everyone!!!

I am happy to say we are officially in double digits!!! Thats right, only....

99 DAYS!!!!!:dance3:  :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Next weekend we'll be making our reservations for Palo! Wow time flies.

We are transfering our booking to Costco today and they will give a $350 Costco card for each of our cabins! Not bad and we keep our 10% discount and $200 cabin credit for booking on board. If anyone has booked through DCL and has membership at Costco it is worth checking into. We already requested our server and did everything we need to do so Costco will actually do nothing but send us our $700. It really is a good deal. (I should probably also say that DU I'm sure runs some great deal you should check into as well.........since they do sponser this site.)

Have a great weekend everyone.

ruined.

Hi:

We read your post about the treasure hunt. Would you mind sharing what your plans are? We were not going to tell our kids about the trip until the day we left, but now we are thinking of letting them in on the anticipation early. A treasure hunt is a great idea.

Michael & Mindi

Hey There, just wondering what clues you are going to use for the treasure hunt? We thought we would just get on a plane in Jan. and not tell the kids at all where we are going, but the more we plan the more excited we are, and now I feel bad that the kids are missing out on some of the excitement.
Thanks so much

A treasure hunt is such a good idea, I wish we had waited to tell our son. So many creative people aboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day.....GO PATS!!!:cheer2:
