January 18, 2014 FANTASY 7 Day Western!

Hi all!

Late to join this group, but I hope not too late. I just read that we missed the FE , so sad about that, but totally understand. I would like to do a meet. This is the first time on the Fantasy, but our 6th Disney cruise for us; myself, my husband and my son who is 11.

Glad to be here!

Hi there... can't believe it is getting so close to embarkation!

Does anyone know the evening schedule for Formal, Semi-Formal & (most importantly) Pirate Nights?

Thanks!

We've been on a trip on the Wonder a couple years ago and my son did just fine in the tween room... actually I barely remember seeing him outside of meals and photo sessions. He had a blast with all the freedom. :cool1:
Anyway now that he is 16, I was wondering if anyone else had kids that had been in the older teens lounge and had a perspective on it, or had kids about that age that will be traveling as well? Not that I doubt he will find a million things to do and he made a couple friends last time that I think he still chats with over xbox live... but its always nice to know our 'young adults' will have cohorts for their chaos. pixiedust:

Our oldest son turns 15 on the cruise. When we went to Alaska on the Wonder, we hardly saw him either. And my son is an avid X-Box player, so I am sure they will be chatting!:cool2:

Hi Dawn... welcome aboard. I know there is a list for the Embarkation Day Meet Up somewhere on the thread. Looks like a good sized group. It is only our 2nd cruise. Our first was on the Wonder to Alaska. So we are looking forward to seeing the differences in the two ships.

Would love to, mixology sounds great. I have been trying to get one organized on the facebook page and there is interest there.

Anyone interested in doing a tasting as a DIS Group on one of the sea days? I read that they will do a private tasting group if there is enough interest.

If so, what tasting would you be interested in?

We are in. PLMK what you find out. Mixology first and the Chocolate could be fun as well

Hi all!

If there's still time to sign my mom and me for the meet up on the first day, that would be great.

And I know we're both interested in a mixology class - that's something we've already been excited about.

I am in, possibly DH too... but I'll check with him. I read somewhere the approximate cost was $30. Does anyone know for sure? princess:

Hello!

First time Disney Cruisers! Last minute vacation plan and joining the group. Would like to attend the attend the meet up. In my travelling party is 5 adults and 5 kids (girls: 11, 11; boys: 10, 5, 3).

So happy you will be joining us all. You will love a Disney Cruise !!!!!!! The Magic begins when you walk onto the ship and they are there to announce your arrival and welcome you aboard and continues through out your trip.

Once you do Disney, you are hooked. We love it !! We will be doing our 8th and 9th Disney cruises in January.

I did finally hear back about the Mixology class. Actually there are several different classes ranging from chocolate pairing with alcohol, to just beer, cognac, champagne, etc.

I think Mixology sounds like the most fun and it is the cheapest one at $15 per person. All the other ones are still available on board, just book them individually, this way we can try for a group to get together and go "Cocktail" behind the bar.

On the FB page I put out there 1PM on Sunday as a proposed time, classes are 45 to 60 minutes long, must make reservations with names and stateroom number, minimum of 25 max of 40 and if you reserve, you are billed for it even if you do not make it. email me at LaskaFamily AT AOL DOT COM with mixology in the subject line, or comment on the FB post and we can try to arrange this.

:welcome: Audyssey!! You're going to have a great time! My last cruise was last-minute. It's so nice not having to wait a year from the time you booked!

I just RSVPd for the mixology class on the Facebook group page. Looks like we only need one more confirmed guest. :cool1:

What type of mixology class is this? I know there are several different kinds.

Peg... the only thing I know for sure is that it is a 45-60 minute class, and the cost is $15 per person. I do not know what type of drinks we will be mixing. :confused3

Hi!

The mixology class is different from some of the other classes, which are called tastings. The bartender will teach us how to make 5 drinks and then they actually bring you behind the bar and you take a turn making and serving! I have read about it and it sounds fun. I cannot remember the drinks, but I am pretty sure one was a mojito. For the tastings, they teach you about a specific spirit. I have been to the tequila tasting twice, and will be signing up for a third! :woohoo:

Hope that helps out!
