January 18, 2014 FANTASY 7 Day Western!

Hi All,

We will be aboard the Fantasy for this sailing!!
We had originally booked for early October, but decided that was too long to wait so yesterday we moved it up to January 18th - beyond excited.

It will be myself, my husband and our son who is 4. We cruised 2 years ago on the Fantasy (Eastern) when our son was only 2 so we are really excited about this cruise. I'm sure it will be so exciting for him at this stage (and for us!!).

Welcome!! Its so exciting to hear you moved your trip date forward!! Not long to wait now!

Not many people on this thread have cruised on the Fantasy before, so please feel free to share any tips specific to this boat or experiences you had last time!

I can't wait till Christmas! Trying so hard not to give away the surprise. This will be our second Disney cruise and my kids know but I am bringing my niece and neither she nor my daughter know. I almost gave it away this week! It's getting so difficult! Still trying to come up with the best way to surprise them for Christmas. I've considered a pop up card or having them solve a puzzle. Any ideas? Does anyone know if dcl does cards or phone messages?

Please add us to the meet up. Family of four from Virginia, daughter is 10 and our son is 8. First time cruise for the kids and first Disney cruise for all of us. Would love to connect with some families and try to pair the kids up for some meets, playdates, hangouts, etc. to buy a little more grown up time

I'm sure there used to be a page where you could organise a character call from the DCL website, once you had logged in/retrieved your reservation, but I can't see it now. So I'm not sure if they've stopped doing it or what?

I remember some people doing a puzzle for their girls to put together on christmas morning on one of our cruises. I thought that was really cute! Maybe you could send them on a treasure hunt to find the pieces!

just went to my reservation to see if i could schedule a call ,here is what u can do... sign in .. go to your reservation... go to page where all the boxes of things to do ..like on line check in... transfers,etc, one of the boxes is schedule a character call, i just scheduled one , so it should work, good luck hope it works for u

We've been on a trip on the Wonder a couple years ago and my son did just fine in the tween room... actually I barely remember seeing him outside of meals and photo sessions. He had a blast with all the freedom.
Anyway now that he is 16, I was wondering if anyone else had kids that had been in the older teens lounge and had a perspective on it, or had kids about that age that will be traveling as well? Not that I doubt he will find a million things to do and he made a couple friends last time that I think he still chats with over xbox live... but its always nice to know our 'young adults' will have cohorts for their chaos.
