January 18, 2014 FANTASY 7 Day Western!

Just popping in to say Hi! I can't believe we can begin booking port adventures on Sunday! (We are Castaway Club - Silver)

FYI: Walmart has most of its girls swimwear on sale for $4. My kids wore out their summer swim suits, and I wanted DD to have something new to wear on board. Plus, she will outgrow it by this summer, so I didn't want to spend $$ buying new swim suits for her.

I'm new to the forum but this will be our 3rd Disney Cruise. We are surprising our kids with it Christmas morning! We booked it on our last cruise almost a year ago! It has been hard to keep it a secret. We will definitely be going to the meet up on the first day. Would love to meet some parents with kids about our kids age so they have playmates! My sweet girl is 7 and my lovable boy is 6. Can't wait!

What a wonderful Christmas surprise!

I know, me too! It's come around so fast! Seems like only yesterday that it was a whole year away! What Port Adventures are you looking at? We don't usually do them, but I can't miss the chance to see some Mayan ruins!

Hi everyone! I don't think we have posted on this thread. We have had it booked for a while though. I wanted to do a Western before they switched out Costa maya for Falmouth because I wanted to go the the ruins there. I am Holly (currently 27, 28 at time of cruise) and my fiancée is Jonathan (33). My sixth DCL cruise and his seventh. :) We are in an 8D with the huge porthole. I much prefer than to a verandah! Plus I love the round tub and huge rooms. We are kind of doing a B2B... Two days after this cruise we get on the Magic!

We will also be joining the FE... am about to go join now. It will be my first Western and his second. We have also done the Eastern, Bahamas and Alaska. Since we are originally from England we have no desire to do a Med cruise but are doing the Southern next year!

I was wondering if anyone has been on this cruise and visited the ruins. I see there are a few to choose from and was looking for some input from others who have been on those experiences before.

:welcome: holula! Lovely to have you join us. Wow, you guys must be expert cruisers by now! I also really want to see the ruins in Costa Maya, looking forward to that.

We just completed our online check-in! Also booked Palo Brunch and The Chacchoben Mayan Ruins tour! :yay:

Can't wait to see this view again!

Just booked our Palo Dinner, Remy Brunch, BBB for my daughter and a Facial for me! Now I'm really getting excited!

Hi all! We just booked our tours and a dinner at Remy. We're going to do the Chaccoben ruins, the Secret River, the Kittiwake snorkeling and stingrays at Castaway Cay. Excited to say we got all with no issues!

We'd like to sign up for the meet, we'll be 4 adults and 3 kids, 10(f), 9(m), and 8(f).

Is anyone planning to fly in the night before and stay in the port area? We're looking into "fly, cruise, snooze" packages and were wondering if anyone had any advice.

Can't wait!!!

Allison

We also booked our specialty dining this morning. We booked both the Palo and Remy brunch and both the Palo and Remy dinners. Or should I say, I booked us both. DH doesn't know it yet! :rotfl2: He thought I was booking 1 brunch and 1 dinner... We didn't book any excursions or spa though, so I think we will splurge on the dining. I'm a little worried about our rotation and hoping what I picked doesn't mean we'll miss either of the Animator Palette dinners. Fingers crossed!

I really want to book Remy brunch but it will be alone. DF is a super fussy eater. I only got him into Remy because we had the WORST dining team on the Dream. The Worst. So it was his idea to try Remy to get away from them. I also don't know if I can justify the cost when I will be dining alone and we are doing organised excursions in each port which is unusual for us.

You're welcome to join us, holula! Anyone else want to make it a party? Remy brunch at 11:30 on Sunday and Palo brunch at 11:30 on Thursday.

Thank you, but we are doing Palo brunch on the Sunday. Palo on night one followed by Palo brunch on day two... Perfect way to begin a cruise!

Woah sounds like your trip is going to be action packed!! Awesome
Ive added you to the meet up list :) were getting so close now! :dance3:

I just happened to already be up and on the computer after midnight last night :surfweb: when I noticed the time and said, "Hey, wait a minute, it's officially Day 90.... LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!". :woohoo:

So I reserved a Palo brunch on Sunday, the dolphin encounter/turtle farm at Grand Cayman, the Fury Catamaran snorkel trip at Cozumel and the BBB for my soon-to-be 7yo DD, whose life ambition is to be a mermaid. Now I just need to figure out the whole Rainforest Room Pass thing and we're good to go, I think.

It's a good thing I didn't have my heart set on booking a CC Cabana, because those things were long gone. Silver Castaway Club members didn't stand a chance, man! Our family doesn't seem to understand the concept of "chilling at the beach" anyway, so I guess it wouldn't be a good investment for us anyway.

I made a countdown calendar so my girls could start counting the days. We're getting pretty excited over here. Hope you are too.

Hi, I'm pretty sure I saw a thread you had started in the spring regarding fly, cruise and snooze hotels/packages (I've been scouring the earth looking for info, LOL). Did you ever end up getting enough feedback to make a comfortable decision? Thanks!

Well... since we're skipping the parks this trip, we decided to sneak in a little extra Disney fun by spending Friday evening at Downtown Disney and staying at one of the hotels near there. Then we'll drive down to the port early the next morning.

Here are a couple of the links I bookmarked for the cruise & snooze packages near Cape Canaveral:

Hope that helps!

Just bought our airfare! Got a decent deal for flying across the country, I think. And good flight times. Now to pay off our cruise in 11ish days! This months credit card bill is going to be fun!

We are flying across country too. From Sacramento. Ended up going through southwest. I think we did pretty good but I don't fly often so I'm not sure.
