Hi Jackie,
Well you asked what we didn't like about
RCCL. There were alot of little things. First of all the kids club activities just didn't measure up. They actually had a better kids room which was much bigger with tons of computers and when we first saw the room we were very impressed. But they just didn't seem to do much with the kids. Also, the hours were awful. You had to pick them up for lunch and then for dinner and then if you wanted them to stay pass 9 pm there was a per hour per child charge.
We were on the Mariner of the Seas. It was the one that was all over the news as being a sick ship. Well fortunetly we didn't get sick but it seemed everyone else was and nobody really seemed to care. The food quality was poor and the ice cream machine by the pool only worked for the first day of the cruise.
Lastly, the Captain was not great, he had just published a book and it seemed like all he wanted to do was push people to buy it in the gift shop and then would have book signings. The rest of his staff was never anywhere to be found. I couldnt even tell you who the cruise director was.
If you did see a staff member they were always trying to sell you something whether it was a drink or bingo it seemed like someone was always there looking for money. I have never been asked so many times if I wanted a drink while at the pool. It was very annoying.
It just didn't compare. We really missed the Disney touch and the attention to detail that you get with Disney.
Only 10 1/2 more months, right!
