January 12, 2013 Eastern on the Fantasy

Just booked today! Our first Disney trip! We are keeping it a surprise from our 2 youngest, can't wait!

Welcome VALIANTDREAM,
to our 1st Disney Cruise also, & I see its your first post, as well.

I don't have any experience with Disney cruises, so we will have to glean that from others on this thread. I'm looking forward to a different type of cruise, only having sailed Carnival previously. I think the alternating dining rooms will be interesting. From the videos I've seen, the appointments seem to be a little up-scaled, compared to Carnival. I hope I get the Disney Customer Service that I'm expecting.

Only 2 of us, under E2ME2 : ET (that's me) & MAR (the DW)

Hello all !

First time on a cruise ever ... Coming from the UK on 5th Jan, spending a week in Orlando and then on the Fantasy ... Can't wait ! Should be on Stateroom 2013.

So I think we are going to join this cruise. I need to do some convincing of the DH though.

It will be my post-deployment trip :). I am excited because that means I will be back with my family :).

It will be me, Nicole, DH Jeremy, and our peanut Clara (will be 17 months at sailing).

Received my email confirmation today with my stareroom number 9500. The next 10 months aren't going to go by fast enough!

I can't seem to figure it out:confused3

Hi E2ME2 ! Thanks for the welcome ! We will stay in Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando for the first week. I'm afraid my English accent will be disappointing for you as I've been living in the UK for almost 12 years but I'm originally from Switzerland so still have a Frenchish accent ;-)

Thanks for the reply.
We have not been to Switzerland.
We have been to London, and we loved it.
& we have been to Sweden a couple times.

I'm really looking forward to our first cruise on the FANTASY!

Checking in, It's GREAT to see our group is growing!!
My daughter's belly is growing bigger and bigger with her twins. Not much longer to go before we get to meet these sweet little princesses! My daughter thinks I'm nuts as I've already started shopping for their cruise clothes!
We watched the Fantasy on the news yesterday, THAT FINALLY got my 8yr old excited a bit about it, though it still seems SO FAR away for him :)

I'm quite familiar with Hamilton! When I was little I had Aunts that lived there and we visited often. They lived up on the Mountain. One Aunt, works at McMaster University there, although they all now live in Brantford ON. just west of Hamilton. I myself am in Ottawa ON.
My grandbabies are expected sometime mid April to Mid May. DD's actual due date is June 1st, but the Dr.'s won't let her go past mid May. My bets are in Early May, they'll make an appearance. Both are girls, not identical. Secret baby showers this weekend, can't wait :)
You can share granbaby pics on the cruise, I'll proudly show off my grandbabies in person :thumbsup2 Their 1st cruise at 8 months old :)
I didn't watch the Fantasy Christening yesterday but Did enjoy reading about it :)

You have to be so excited.
AND Adventurous, taking 8-month old twins on a cruise - WOW!

we offered to take the DD & SIL, with our to-be-9 month old with us to WDW, right after the cruise, but they said something like um..... "NO WAY"!:rotfl2:

Always nice chatting with Canadians; makes me think of my cousins, eh ??
:goodvibes

Hi everyone! I am so excited to join this roll call! This will be my family's first Disney Cruise. Dh and I went on Carnival Liberty last May and loved it so I think that cruising Disney is going to be a dream come true (or fantasy come true ;) Sailing in our group will be myself (Lindy) 27, Dh (Joe) 28, DS (Jackson) 6, DS (Jett) 2. We are going to add a Disney World package before the cruise for 3 or 4 days and it will be our first time there also! We are surprising the boys Christmas morning:santa: with the news and they will be over the top excited! It will also be their first time on a plane :scared: So excited I'm already driving everyone around me crazy:yay:

We have booked this cruise on the Fantasy! We have four kids (at the time of cruise 19, 10, 8 and 4). Also, two grandmas and one grandpa will come along for this amazing cruise!

We have been on the Disney Magic twice ~ Eastern Caribbean (3/2009) and Western Caribbean (1/2012) and are very excited to cruise on the Fantasy next January! We are guaranteed a Cat 9 room but do not have a room number yet.

Looking forward to cruising with all of you!

Welcome Lindyboyles & Millerwarren

I think this is going to be a great group of Disney Fanatics enjoying the new FANTASY.

We're still over 300 days out, at this point, but my excitement is building!

I was just on the DCL website, and I am now curious about what's included in a "concierge" stateroom.

Does anybody know what all you get for the extra moolah ??:confused3

We were also wondering about the concierge stateroom extras. I called DCL and was told that concierge guests have priority check in and are able to board the ship first. Once on the ship you will be greeted and taken up to the concierge lounge. In the concierge lounge they serve light snacks and cocktails before dinner. There is a concierge sundeck with water misters and complimentary sunscreen. Concierge also comes with 100 minutes of internet. That is all I was told. The rooms are only 306 sq ft as apposed to the 299 sq ft that is the deluxe family oceanview stateroom with verrandah. DH really wanted to do the concierge but after a lot of consideration we decided against it. I couldn't justify the $1200 extra for what the concierge intels. But if anyone has any more information that they can share that I didn't list here it would be greatly appreciated because if I overlooked something I may still upgrade and surprise the family.

Lindy.....
We just went for it -- cost us $1050 extra for concierge.
You captured most of the perks (5square foot more - wow!)
We like the priority check-in, and the snacks -- there is a private concierge lounge, as well. The exclusive sundeck sounds nice to me. & you get to book excursions 30 days before other guests, and you get guaranteed dining ressies at Palo, and preferential spa ressies..... All-in-all, a little more pampering, attention, and personal service. We don't get that the other 50 weeks of the year, so we enjoy it when on vacation. We just booked on Deck 12 - let us know if you decide to join us:goodvibes
