January 12, 2013 Eastern on the Fantasy

My first post ever... Just back from the best vacation ever on the wonder, already counting down the days til our cruise on the fantasy! DS9 and DD7 will be cruising too, looking forward to getting involved in the FE exchange and meeting other cruisers.

Welcome to Dis!

Our DD7 will be excited to have more girls her age on the ship!

I booked this cruise, last week while I was on the Dream. It will be myself, sister, sisters DD18, DS14 and DS11. Also joining us is an adult friend. This will be my 5th Disney cruise.

The Dream is gorgeous...and I heard that the prices for cruises on the Wonder and Magic are even better...we've booked this 7 day cruise...but I'm wondering if I can surprise hubby...with a little 3 or 4 night on the Magic or Wonder before then???;)

I don't think the Wonder or Magic will be doing any 3 or 4 night cruises. Not sure what the future plans are, but as far as I currently know, they aren't doing them. They too are very beautiful ships though :thumbsup2

Is anyone here yet organizing an FE exchange? I haven't read about anything being started yet. I can do that if there are no other takers but don't want to commit till after my DH has his holidays confirmed at work. That should be March 1st that he finds out. If he can't get the holidays for this cruise, I'll have to decide weather to move the cruise again, OR Leave him home and cruise anyway ;) (don't tell him I said that ) :)

Dh found out this morning about his holidays. They won't officially give him the week of the 7th to the 11th off. We are driving down so need at least the 10th and 11th off. No worries though he says, he can use STAT days from his other holidays booked for this year to get those two days off, and then he was granted Holidays for the 14th to the 18th :) So we are GOOD TO GO!! Is anyone else planning on driving? :)

We are flying, but we won't book our flights for a while.

Is there a way to pin a post at the beginning of this thread so we can keep a list everyone that is going. Like their screenname and who is coming with them or something like that.

That would be awesome. Whoever is the 1st post though would have to do it, by editing the post and adding that info, then updating it as we go along.

I created a Facebook group for us. If the link below doesn't work, just do a search for 1/12/13 Disney Fantasy Cruise and click on the "ask to join group" tab...I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Great idea to create a facebook page! On our 1/14/12 Magic cruise, the facebook along with the cruise meets thread, really helped us to all get to know each other. Thank you!

Count our cabin "in" if there is a FE group. This was so much fun last cruise! The only suggestion I would make is that there be a "firm and final" close date to sign up. The last few weeks leading up to the cruise we had many want to join and I felt bad at the thought of leaving someone out...but it made me crazy trying to figure it all out! :rotfl:

This cruise, it will be myself, my husband (Dave) and our two daughters, Lauren (16) and Caitlin (20). We usually book category 11, but this cruise I splurged and we are on deck 7 with a veranda- I really think that we will use this space and the family will be so surprised! Just last night Dave commented that "sometime we should book a veranda"...tee hee! Won't he be surprised?! :cool1:

Well, I better finally "get on board" here as it looks like my DS has already been here! We are myself, DH, DS (turning 21 on the cruise!) and DS (18). Also my parents and my aunt and uncle.
This will be our 6th Disney cruise, but it'll be 5 years since we've sailed. Sooooooo miss it and can NOT wait!!!!!!!!

I don't do Facebook, but would really like to participate... Is that possible without creating a FB account?

I'm pretty sure you need a face book account. You could always sign up with a "Fake" name. Just make sure you set all settings to private, or just friends, that way no one from the general public can view any info on you.
If you aren't comfortable with that, just post here. Both options will be used by most I would imagine. :)

I will have DH set up a FE spreadsheet and attach it to the Facebook page:goodvibes For our current cruise we set the cut off date for a month before sailing, will that work or do you think it should be longer?

I know what you mean with the verandah, I have been on 6 cruises and finally decided to get one:cloud9: It was an easier decision on the Fantasy because the price difference between OV and verandah was not that much. I couldn't resist the huge aft verandah rooms, hopefully the noise/vibration won't keep me awake.

I was the first post and would be happy to add a roll call so we can keep a list going of who will be on the cruise. Feel free to send me your info on who will be crusing with you and your stateroom number, if you have it. Sending me this info via PM will probably be the easiest. Thanks!

Hey thats great!! I would start just by going through the 4 pages that are here right now. Start with the Dis names for the roll call and then beside the Dis names, you can put real names if people indicate they want that.
For my info, put:
JustTJ: Judy, DH Martyn, DS Daniel 15, DS Tim 9 Travelling with
-DD Taryn and her DH Curtis, and 2 TBA Baby Girls
-DM Dee and her DH AL

Ahoy fellow cruisers
DW and I will be joining you out of Port Canaveral on Jan 12, 2013.
(We are ET & MAR)

It will be our first Disney Cruise, having sailed Carnival 11 times.
We booked a Family stateroom with verandah on Deck 7
We just bought into DVC last October, and are going right from the cruise to Saratoga Springs in WDW.

I look forward to getting tips and pointers from the experienced Disney cruisers in this group. I also have been onn the Cruise Critic Roll Call for this sailing.

Looking forward to chatting with everyone throughout the year ahead:thumbsup2

Just booked today! Our first Disney trip! We are keeping it a surprise from our 2 youngest, can't wait!

Added FB group, into the FE (we did this on the 2008 cruise, it was awesome!).

I am a 45 year old single mom, with a happy little 11 (will be 12) year old son. This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise.

We just got off the MSC Poesia, just not Disney. We had fun, but my son really wants to go back on Disney. The Kid's club wasn't the same!
