January 10-14 2010!!! 4 nights on the Wonder

Now I'm even more excited!!!

We were all laughing this weekend because my dad said he's going to ask the captain about the 'Bow Movements" :lmao: (if you don't get it... you don't want to).

My mom told me that my dad asked her "Are you really going to be happy just sitting on the deck all day and looking at the ocean?" He had no idea about all the fun things you could do on the boat. So we printed out the navigators I found on line and started picking out what we were going to do.

So has anyone started packing yet? :thumbsup2 Not me - I'm way behind where I was last year!

Hi Nat, nope no packing done yet. I was wondering what to pack. It's January and winter in PA. Florida and the Bahamas should be warm but could also get cool. So I'm not sure what to bring. We're only packing weekenders....one for me and one for John. Then we have our bathroom bag and garmet bag. Then me and John each have a carry on. I'm thinking more warm weather clothes and a few for cool. Anybody ever cruise in January before? I have not and would love to hear about the weather.:confused3

What kind of excursions is everybody doing? We're doing the Atlantis day on property. What else is everybody doing?;):goodvibes

Florida in January could to either way.... I've been there where we have spent the day at the pool & where we had to bundle up like it was snowing! Right now Florida is staying unusually warm... lets how it stays that way!

I don't have any excursions booked. Just Brunch for me and my mom and I just recently booked Palo dinner for me and Shawn!

We have cruised in Jan before. We come from cold NY and we are so happy for any non-snowy weather... The FL natives are in winter coats and hats and we are running around in our shorts or capris and light sweaters. It always seems to get warmer once we start cruising.

We cruised in Jan last year and were in shorts and t-shirts at all times and the only time we were cold was in the dining rooms!!

I'm bummed - my Walmart doesn't have any of the Pirate stuff!

We're hosting a Disney Cruise Line House Party tomorrow night. If anyone is interested in a chance to win a free 4-nt cruise on the Wonder, please send me your email address and we'll send you an entry one way or another.

This will be our first cruise... lots and lots of visits to Disney World - but our first cruise!!!

Let me clarify... first cruise for Big Guy & Bama... we will be joining Natale1980 and her family - seasoned cruisers... Dexter (4) has promised to show us all the important 'stuff'... can't wait!!

Any first time cruisin' tips?

I think the best tip for you would be to watch your grandchilden for the whole cruise. :thumbsup2
That way I could do anything I wanted to...

BigGuy & Bama: This is our second cruise, our first with DCL! My tip is do NOT over pack! We packed so much for our last cruise we didn't need. I will leave the babysitting choices up to you and Natale! Looking at the pictures of you and Dexter, I have a feeling he will want to spend his time with you!

Yeah... sure... the kids enjoy spending time with Shawn & me. But you should see the way they light up whenever we see my parents!
Sometimes I think that Dexter would rather live with them :upsidedow & Skylar calls my dad GooGoo and asks for him all the time!! :lovestruc

So where did everyone go again??
I can't wait to go on this vacation!!!

We're getting ready for the holidays and busier than usual. We overpacked on our last cruise and we'll be better packers this time around. I have all our FE gifts and thinking about creative ways to package it all. As much as I'm tempted to get off the ship at Nassau, I think I'll take advantage of what's on board and really try relax. :fish:

Natale... I noticed you had names on the roll call... Can I give you our names? I'm Melissa and my husband is Jeff. My 9 year old daughter is Haley and my almost 6 year old is Macy Joy.

I'm trying to decide if we need special t-shirts for the 1st day. Is anyone else making special t-shirts?

Now I'm even more excited!!!

Natalie, did the Navigators tell you what night was formal and what night was pirates? I always like to know in advance.

DD wants to try the "glue" t-shirt with the spray-on tye dye! If that goes well we may try to make one for me and DD!

We have done the glue shirts twice now and they were pretty simple and turned out cute! The first time we did white shirts with neon paint colors and the second time we used green tshirts with white paint for our last christmas trip. We did make our own paste instead of using actual glue and found that a mustard bottle worked well, as far as the size of the tip.
I will go check mail to see if we got a kids club letter...

Anyone else dying for their room assignment??? I can't wait to find out!
