january 09 crowds - help!

So we have done Disneyland a hundred+ times but are planning our first WDW+Cruise trip for January 2009. We are thinking of January 11-14, 2009 for the parks but I'm worried about the WDW marathon. Will it be more crowded than say the weekend before (Jan 4-7 '09). The 3rd week is MLK so should we wait until Jan 25-29 '09?

The WDW resorts and parks noticed a significant drop off in attendance starting this past Sunday (06 Jan 08). I don't know how the marathon will impact your plans. If anyway possible recommend for y'all to arrive on the first Sunday AFTER New Year's Day. Room availability (and quality of view and location!!!) will be dramatically improved. Then hit the parks on Monday. Also recommend to use TGM and hit the parks smartly based upon the marathon and weekly tendicies. It's well worth the $18!
