Janet and Justin-Did you See what I just Saw???

Thanks for the link, Dan. I sent my comments.

The antics were totally inappropriate and callous. As others have stated, kids watch the superbowl. What were they thinking? Disgusting. Blech.

I think this kind of thing can be expected at the Grammys, MTV, etc. And I choose not to let my kids watch those kinds of things.

But the Superbowl??? Isn't that supposed to be family entertainment? I am not a prude, but I really don't want to explain to my 10 year old daughter why he ripped her shirt off on TV.

I wrote my email to CBS and the NFL.
I am still hoping that the only people who "planned" this were Janet and Justin!
I wrote to CBS, but can not find the NFL email address, just one about the Net site for the NFL.

I am so tired of this kind of thing being pushed in our faces all the time.

I am not a prude, but my 2 little boys were watching, and it's my decision for them not to see something like this so young. Yes, I know you can't protect them from everything, but it's not something that should have been shown at the Superbowl.

I emailed CBS as well. Next year if that is the type of fare they are offering, they should run a ratings disclaimer stating if there will be frontal nudity, profane rap lyrics and frequent crotch grabs!

Statement released by the NFL
Statement regarding the Super Bowl halftime show

Statement by NFL Executive Vice President Joe Browne regarding the Super Bowl halftime show:

"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced Halftime show. They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the show. It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime."

I can not believe I called my kids in to see that half time show. I don't know why I was expecting them to see interesting entertainment. I missed the part where he grabbed her top off, but when I looked up and saw her boob hanging out, I thought there was no way they could be showing that.

It was also very disrespectful of Kid Rock to be wearing the American Flag like that. I can't believe that this is what they wanted as a half time show. They should have just let those kids in the marching bands stay on the field instead.

It was pre-approved by CBS:

OUTRAGE AT CBS AFTER JANET BARES BREAST DURING DINNER HOUR; SUPER BOWL SHOW PUSHES LIMITS

**Exclusive**

Top CBS executives approved a musical skit where Janet Jackson would expose her breast during the MTV-produced Super Bowl half-time concert, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"The decision to go forward went to the very top of the network," a well-placed source explained from New York.

The groundbreaking scene came during the most-watched television broadcast of the year -- and during the dinner hour for the nation's west coast viewers.

In a press release before Sunday's game, CBS's sister outlet. [VIACOM's] MTV promised "Janet's Shocking Moments."

"I'll get you naked by the end of this song," sang performer Justin Timberlake, moments before he ripped off Jackson's top, exposing a bare breast -- the nipple covered by a tassel.

CBS's main New York switchboard was immediately bombarded with complaints about the stunt, network sources said late Sunday.

I don't think Janet and Justin are dating. I believe he's dating Cameron Diaz.

Originally, I had heard they were going to sneak Michael Jackson into the act.

Of course, the whole incident was staged. It's no different than Madonna and Brittney. Heck if you don't have talent you have to do something. ;)

How could NFL have the mindset to let a sleaze station like MTV produce something that would be family oriented? Do they live under rocks?

Hmmm, I guess Justin may be a little jealous of the headlines Britney got, he needed a little smut of his own! Let the smut war begin. Where are their parents!?!

We were at a pretty large super bowl party and when the boob incident occured, the whole place was quiet for a split second!

What was covering the boob was a star shaped glittery pasty. If you didnt look quick enough, it looked like the whole thing was bare!

As one of the other posters stated, Im not a prude but Id rather my DD didnt see it and thankfully she misseed it.

It's not jsut the nudity, IMHO. His act borders on violence. Even though this behavior is often portrayed in TV, it typically has a disclaimer. My 10 yr old son was watching, too. We need to discuss the proper way to treat a female.

Attacks of this type are not acceptable.

Just my opinion.

I called my parents to see if my son was watching. Well Nick answered the phone and says "Hi Mom. I had my eyes closed! Did you see ..(one of the plays that evidently was good)?" I'm glad he didn't see but upset they aired it. Unfortunately it is a sign of the times. I guess until people really get serious about not wanting trash tv, they will just keep pushing the limits.

We like most of the music/performers that were on the Super Bowl half-time show, not necessarily the content of language, but enojy it nontheless. I found the show entertaining........up until the very end. I could not believe Justin pulled Janet's top off and that was the end of the show. I wonder if CBS was waiting for an incidenet and ready to push the commercial button. I got this off the local CBS affiliate's website:

CBS Statement Regarding Halftime Show:
"CBS deeply regrets the incident that occurred during the Super Bowl halftime show. We attended all rehearsals throughout the week, and there was no indication that any such thing would happen. The moment did not conform to CBS broadcast standards, and we would like to apologize to anyone who was offended."

I knew I could count on everyone at the DIS to tell me what's going on. I watched it happen, with my 11 year old son unfortunately.

I was so proud of him, when Kid Rock came out wearing (desecrating) the flag, he said "Mama he shouldn't do that, why is he wearing the flag like that?" Funny when a child knows better than an adult what's right and wrong.

A few moments later both his eyes and mine popped out of our heads about as quick as Ms. Jackson's thingie popped out of her.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_13_4.gif' border=0></a>

A real shame. It's getting harder and harder for us parents. What next?

I just dont see what the uproar is about... she wasn't naked and they only showed it for a second..

Maybe it's just crazy liberal young me...
