Jane E.'s Fitness Journal

Thanks Pearlique, QT is doing fine. She came back this morning and was already jumping up on furniture. I closed her in ds room but after an hour she was wanting out. The office staff at the vets said they had a hard time getting her back into her carry cage. She's a stubborn kitty.

30 minute walk

breakfast: bowl of cereal with skim milk

lunch: Mexican lasagna, 2 fudgsicles

I'm waiting for the plumber. They said he'd be here by 1:20pm & he hasn't come yet. We're having trouble with water draining in our master bathroom & also the drain for the washer.

I'm glad to hear your kitty is OK! Bummer about the water leaking. That sounds $$!!! Hope it is not...

Don't make me come over there and slap those Milk Duds out of your hand! You need to stop buying those things, they are EVIL!

You will get back on track. Let's make a pact - we WILL behave this weekend! Come on, we can do it!!!! :cheer2:

Glad to hear she's home and doing well! She sounds like quite a spitfire!

Have a great day! Sending :wizard: that the water leak is simple and inexpensive to fix!

Thanks for asking about QT, Amy & Pearlique. You'd never have known she had surgery yesterday. She's into everything!

NO MORE MILK DUDS!!! Amy I'd hate for you to come to Florida during hurricane season just to slap them out of my hands. I will NOT be buying them anymore.

As for our plumbing, we had two clogs. One for the washer drain and one in our bathroom. Dh has a friend who has a plumbing company, so they never charge us. I keep telling dh to tell his friend to charge us. We did tip the plumber. Its a very good, honest company and I want to use them but I feel bad not being charged.

I did 35 minutes of yoga/pilates today. My left knee is sore. Its been hurting for 24 hours so I'm trying to be careful. No jogging, side lunges or anything that puts pressure on it.

I owe my mom lunch out today. I'm going to take her to look for a new kitchen faucet, then out for lunch. We'll probably get the chix salad veggie platter. It comes with chix salad, hard boiled egg, cucumbers, celery & lots of fresh fruit. They also have a chix salad fruit plate that comes with an assortment of fruit plus a dip.

My food yesterday was bad. I love that Mexican lasagna and originally I made it with just a small amount of cheese. However, everytime I fix it I add more shredded cheese.

snack: guava/passion fruit drink

dinner last night: Mexican lasagna, 1 slice of bread with lowfat spreadable cheese, 1 guava/passion fruit drink, & 1 mocha bar

snack: 1 guava/passion fruit drink and later another mocha bar

Great news about the plumbing! Maybe you could get the friend a gift certificate or a gift basket or something else to show your appreciation.

Lasagne is tough because you have to make such a large quantity and there are SO many leftovers!

Come on Jane, let's get serious again! You can do it! Next time you eat your lasagne, don't add more cheese. And get back on track this weekend! That is truly my goal for the next 2 days. I will try my best to check in this weekend and see how you are doing. You can do it!!!!! :teeth:

Thank you, Amy! I can always use the support. We WILL have a good weekend. Thankfully, the Mexican lasagna is gone. I didn't think dh liked it because it was way too spicy (and he kept mentioning that) so yesterday I ate it for lunch & dinner. He was upset when he got home & found out it was gone. He never told me he liked it - so I was pleasantly surprised!

Our dripping a/c is fixed. The air handler in the attic was dripping water. Our a/c guy showed dh what was wrong & what to do next time.

Best of all, I got my new Tivo today. A power surge had ruined our other Tivo. Ds and his wife were visiting today. Just as they were about to leave my new Tivo was delivered. He set it all up for me. He uses it to record shows as much as we do. Everyday he'd call asking if it had come yet. We all missed it!

skipped breakfast because I knew I was taking Mom out for lunch

lunch: one scoop chix salad w/fruit plate (I couldn't finish the chix salad or the fruit. They were rich.) 1/2 peanutbutter pie - (always room for pie!!) We ate at 11:30am & I'm still stuffed.

You bet that there is always room for pie - even it's just a bite!!!!

Ohhhhhh and bad Milk Duds, bad Milk Duds :D :D (like I should be talking, I can't walk past the M&M's at home and not have a couple, just to kill the craving taste - they are almost gone but they were breast cancer ones so they were for a good cause!!!!).

You are doing great on your exercise!!!! Keep up the good work.

Keep on
Chris

Thank you, Chris! Candy is my downfall. I don't think the M&Ms for breast cancer have any calories!

My workout today was 40 minutes of circuit training.

Last time I was on here was Friday & I can't remember what I've eaten!

Saturday:
lean pockets breakfast egg sandwich w/salsa
one raisin cookie
LC chix meal, mocha bar
split chix nachos with dh & 2 long island iced teas
2 mocha bars

Sunday:
cereal w/nonfat milk, oj
LC chix meal, mocha bar
orange sherbet
taco salad, 1 mocha bar
2 fudgesicles

Monday:
cereal w/nonfat milk
cobb chix salad from McD's

Your weekend looks pretty good! I needed a rum-n-Diet Sprite slapper on Saturday :guilty:

Here's to you starting a fresh week back on track!! :sunny:

Thank you Amy & Kate! I will stay on track this week.

Now for the bad news: I weighed in at 160. Ouch! I don't want to go backwards.

Yesterday for dinner we grilled chuck steaks with bacon wrapped around them. Birdseye had mixed veggies with a lite sauce on sale. I bought that to go with the steaks. For dessert, I bought a chocolate chip cookie dough roll. At 5pm I started fixing the cookies, dh got detained and wasn't home until 6:45 so I ate 7 of them! Dh ate 5 & I threw the rest of the cookie dough in the garbage. I also drank raspberry/cranberry juice.

On top of everything else at 10pm I had a "midnight snack". One slice of ww toast with peanut butter & jelly.

Now for the good news: I walked for 55 minutes today. I've gotta get caugt up with my workouts.

We're been invited to meet some family/friends out at a restaurant this weekend. I've got to get my strategy in place.

Also, next week a friend is coming over who hasn't seen me since I was a size 8! She was very supportive the whole time I went from an 18 to an 8. She was always there for me. After I hit a size 8 she moved away and I haven't seen her since. I'm afraid to disapoint her. She was so happy when I lost all the weight initially.

breakfast: 1/2 can tuna w/cocktail sauce

I think I'm going to go on the tuna fish diet. Only eat tunafish until my size 8 jeans fit again!!!!! Guess that might be too drastic. I could add some grilled shrimp in there.

We're going to the Wine Festival in several weeks. Bil, sil & a friend are meeting us up there. Dh & I have had so much fun up there they decided to join us. I thought for sure I'd be wearing size 8 or 10 by then. Because I've been messin' up that isn't going to happen. I can; however; hit those 12s!!

lunch: 1/2 can tuna with cocktail sauce, rasp/cran juice, mocha bar

snack: 1 mocha bar

dinner: LC eggroll (dropped it and 3/4 of the rice/veggies were eaten by THE DOG!) however, I did manage to salvage the eggroll, rasp/cran juice, mocha bar

Are you my long lost twin? I overindulged in snacks last night too. What is it with cookie dough? Last time I made cookies it was like I was possessed! I couldn't stop eating the dough and I ate it until I got sick to my stomach. And the sad part is that it was Heath cookies and I don't even like Heath bars!!!

That is OK about the scale. You know you had an off week and I bet seeing that 160 is exactly what you needed to get back on track this week! Get your plan ready for the weekend and stick to it! Try to find out what restaurant you are going to and see if they have a menu online so you know what you are going to get before you go. You can do it!!! :teeth:

Keep up that exercising, you are doing great! :cheer2:

Amy, your cookie dough story cracked me up! That stuff is bad. About 15 years ago I actually broke my tooth on some frozen cookie dough. My dentist still won't let me forget it!

Yesterday I went to my weekend job & spent 2 hours organizing the closet. I only managed to do about 1/2 of it. I threw out two huge garbage bags full of old stuff. Our former administrator & I used to argue about the closet. She used it to keep stuff in it, which I've never had an administrator do before. She put in an old tv, bed frame etc. (Stuff she was supposed to have disposed of or put in storage.) One day I went in to get our table bowling set which is about 4'.5". I was trying to lift it over the tv without damaging the tv. Instead I fell over the bed frame, the table bowling set went up in the air, exploded the fluorescent light & caused me to fall. The light EXPLODED! Startled from the exploding light, I screamed. I ended up with a huge gash on my leg from the bed frame. When I opened the closet door, all of my Alzheimers residents were sitting in stunned silence. I let them know I was fine just shaky. I then asked one of the residents what he thought had happened to me. And he said, "I thought you were dead!" I just started laughing - it was hilarious. They were so worried about me. Anyway, I got our administrator and had her help me take the bed frame out. She wanted to put it in the lanai attached to my activity room. I let her know that I felt that was inappropriate. Everyone would see it & it would look awful. It ended up in the employee lounge until they put it in storage. TAcky, tacky tacky! OUr new administrator agrees with me on the use of the closet. Since we don't have a life enrichment coordinator - she quit 2 mos ago and they never filled the position, I've been helping out more than I normally do. Usually I just work there every other weekend. I'm scheduled this Saturday for activities. Sunday dh & I are going to visit a relative who lives out of town, so today I'm taking it easy. During the summer our business is down. As soon as the first cold wave hits we get very busy.

breakfast: 1 glass of oj

lunch: oj, lean cusine meal, mocha bar - correction lunch was a tomato basil burger - I eat so many lc meals I post'em all the time!

I plan on doing some yoga or pilates today.

40 minutes of yoga

Geez, you are lucky you didn't get seriously injured in that closet! I'm glad to hear you will be able to use it for more useful things...

I've never heard of anyone breaking a tooth on cookie dough before!!! You must have been pretty determined to eat some. ;) I just ordered 3 tubs of cookies (each making 36) and a 2.5lb pan of brownies for my kids' school fundraiser. What was I thinking?!?!? This will be the greatest test of willpower...

You are doing great, keep up that exercise! The month is almost 1/2 over, you can meet your goal!!!

:rotfl:
I've learned NEVER to keep cookie dough in the house. It never lasts very long with me around!

Just wanted to drop in and say hi. Have a good day. :sunny:

Amy, have fun with all of that cookie dough! I actually ordered candy from a coworker - fundraiser for her daughters school. Dh had a fit. It was peanut butter choc. Thankfully her daughter didn't get the order in on time.

Kate, thanks for stopping by.

breakfast: OJ

lunch:pizza - went out with a neighbor for lunch. Thats why I skipped breakfast. We split a medium cheese pizza.

snack: 6 dove milk chocolates (a year ago it would have been 1/2 the package!

dinner: I'm planning on LC. I fixed chix marinated in Italian dressing for dh. Its not fat free dressing - so I won't have any. I'm looking forward to my Lean Cusines tonight!

PLanning on either a bike ride or walk tonight.

60 minute workout - 20 minute bike ride, 10 minutes of weights, 20 minutes of cardio & 10 minutes of yoga. I hadn't ridden a bike in at least 6 months. I keep thinking I hate it but when I ride I actually enjoy it. 3 years ago I was riding 10 miles at a time. I think what I hated was traffic. Today I went for a leisurely ride - avoiding all the traffic.

20 minutes of cardio today

breakfast: oj and tomato basil burger on a bun

lunch: same

Went shopping today - picked up a classic pair of black jeans - still size 14 and two tops. Everyone is probably sick of seeing me in the same old clothes all of the time!

Hi!

Isn't shopping so much fun! I bet it felt nice to get something new into your wardrobe. I'm going Sunday myself. I need pants!!!

I saw an exercise ball today and all I could think about was your kitty! Poor thing, but that was such a funny story! How is she doing? When do the stiches come out?

Hope you're having a great day!!! :flower:

Hey! Just popped onto your journal and this made me laugh:

snack: 6 dove milk chocolates (a year ago it would have been 1/2 the package!

That was so me a year ago too!!! I had Hershey's kisses in the house this week from making cookies for a bake sale, and I finally took the remainder to my class and told them to take them away from me because they were taunting me!

Isn't it nice to buy new clothes to show your progress? I am putting off shopping for a few more weeks, but can't wait!

Have a great weekend!!! :)

How did you do this weekend Jane? Hopefully you are back on track!
