Two very influential people dined at the Auberge de Cendrillon on July 29th, 1994.
(a) Who were they ?
(b) Who was the host and who was the guest ?
(c) What was so important about this meeting and how was it to effect the resort’s future ?

This question is quite involved, especially part c, so give me as much information as you can.
Good Luck :goodvibes

This Day in Disney History
1975 - The first Space Mountain attraction opens in the Walt Disney World Park in Florida. There is now a version of it in all 5 Disney themeparks.

Awww come on now guys - let's at least have one question that nobody knows the answer to ;)

I'll leave this open until tomorrow, in case anyone else wants to have a go, I know it's a bit of a hard one until of course you find the right place to look ;)

The two gentlemen were the former American President George Bush and French leader President Francois Mitterand.

Ths story is that Michael Eisner, Chief Executive Officer Walt Disney Co. and a close friend of George Bush explained how no matter what Disney did they could not get the backing of the French.

It was Mr. Bush's idea to invite Mitterand to Eurodisney, who at first declined the invitation, Mitterand had always insisted that "it was just not his cup of tea", but as Bush explained to him he would be a guest, no-one could read anything into the situation.

When the two men left the restaurant they were faced with a crowd of press and photographers, at first Mitterand turned away, but Bush persuaded him to turn around and even smile.

The following day the French nation woke to find their smiling leader on the front pages of all the major European newspapers, which kind of gave out the message that just maybe it was OK to like the park afterall.

Along with the name change a few months later, this meeting helped change people's perception of the park and signalled a turn around for the resort's popularity.

Points were awarded for the following:
1 point for a
1 point for b
I gave a bonus point to anyone who mentioned that Bush and Eisner were friends.
1 point for pointing out that Mitterand had never before visited the park
and another bonus point for the famous "cup of tea" quote.
1 point for pointing out that it was Bush who persuaded Mitterand to turn around and smile.
1 point for mentioning the resultant press photos and how it helped change attitudes towards the resort.

Well done everyone ! :cheer2:
