Change of plans! Instead of returning our first rental car to Alamo on the 8th, we are going to keep it till the 15th. We are now staying at the Doubletree in San Pedro on the 7th so we will leave it there for the week and then return it to LAX the night of the 15th. No more crazy one way rental from Enterprise. Everything is coming together!!!

So excited!!

We are doing the same thing-- the hotel will charge $10 a day to park it, but I think we'll still be ahead.

We are doing the same thing-- the hotel will charge $10 a day to park it, but I think we'll still be ahead.

Where are you staying? We are using Hilton Honors points to stay at the Doubletree in San Pedro. They have a Stay & Cruise package so I called to make sure we could still park there for a week and use the shuttle if were are NOT buying the package and she said yes, those are amenities of staying at the hotel. My husband is convinced she is wrong and they will charge us once we get there, but I still have faith that she knew what she was doing.

We are going to have a crazy week before the cruise. We are coming in on the 31st and bought a CityPass and are using points/DVC for the hotels. Makes for a lot of checking in & out BUT it also keeps us near where we want to be each day and keeps the cost WAY down:

Dec 31-2 - Best Western in San Diego - Sea World/San Diego Zoo (Best Western Points)
Jan 2-6 - Grand Californian in Anaheim - DISNEYLAND!! woot woot (DVC Points)
Jan 6 - Beverly Hilton - sightseeing (We had a Hilton free night certificate that they actually let us use here. The Golden Globe awards are there on the following Sunday. I keep telling my husband that we will be sleepng in a celebrity's bed. He tells me they will probably put us in steerage more likely it will be a publicist
Jan 7 - Double Tree San Pedro - Universal Studios (free night certificate)
Jan 8 - DISNEY WONDER!!!!

Like I said, CRAZY week. The best part is, we didn't pay for any of the hotels!! Well, technically we did pay for our DVC points but that was quite awhile ago. We will ignore the fact that I should be getting a hefty dues bill any day now

All we have to pay for at the hotels is $36 for parking at the Beverly Hilton. That goodness DH travels so much for work

Free hotels from points are the best!!! We are taking the girls to Disneyland for this first time before Christmas. I figure it will all be magical so I am not worried about planning all our time.

We never get out west (really expensive to fly in Canada) so we have to pack in what we can.

I also think I like to do all of the stuff b/c when I was little, I did not get to do anything like this, my parents just coudln't afford it. Plus from what I hear the exchange rate was crazy in the 80s. The furthest I got was Ontario (which is only two provinces over) or Maine (which is right next to us). I am making up for losy time I guess

I should have looked into that! We are staying at the Crowne as I had an almost free room through Priority Club. The day we sail, hubby will drop us with our luggage, drive back and park at the hotel and then he will walk and meet us at the ship. I do wish we wouldn't have to pay $70 to park, but I think it will still be less than a shuttle from the arirport, plus we can use the car. Laura
